This lesson is really on point ! I think those points are essential to modern practice ! In randori we have to fight for an advantage, BEFORE attempting to throw. I always see people trying to throw when this opponent is strong. I'm not convinced many players break off a collar grip by punching it down and swapping to their non-dominant side. All the other techniques are excellent though, and I see them being used often
Adding on to what the other guy said, the majority of overhand guys are righty, so if you fake being lefty, break their grip, and feed it to your non dominant, then you get your dominant side going

He was faking being a righty. This is a standard aiyotsu gripping strategy taught by Jimmy Pedro
