As someone who was involved in manufacturing his working life (not booze, unfortunately 🤣) I'm always interested in the nuts and bolts of how businesses work, so I really enjoyed this, so many local distilleries popped up over the past 20 years, and they always remodel and repurpose the older brick buildings, those are the kinds of places people want to sit and drink in. He built a nice distillery there, no doubt. Don't do gin or brandy but love some rum
Nice one Dan! Yes, this vlog won't be for everyone. I really enjoyed seeing the whole process and listening to Stefan. I think they are planning some other drinks in the future. Cheers mate.
Fantastic vid Wayne! Stefan's passion and knowledge of his craft was riveting. Surprising as I'm not usually interested in alcohol production so that illustrates just how impressive Stefan is not just as a story teller, his vision for his community is truly inspiring! Definitely adding San Oa Tong distillery to our itinerary!
What an investment and what looks like a great business. I will look out for the distinctive bottle and definitely buy some. Well done Steffen for dreaming a great company.
Thanks for sharing Wayne I really liked this I reckon this is a fantastic business and excellent for the local community too. I will have too visit this Distillery next time in in Chiangmai. Fantastic, I love it. Thanks for sharing bro. Stay safe man stay safe
Stefan obviously has a good business brain or an endless supply of Krona or both. I like the clenched fist on the rum bottle, they both go hand in hand🤣
Loved the sudden brake noise you added in going into the Distillery grounds Wayne 😂🤣😂 Very interesting listening to that mate and really good that he is giving employment to the local Thais too. Nice one !! Cheers buddy. 🤩
🤣 Cheers mate, just some little effects I do. It as good to come back and meet Stefan. They are doing good things for the local community. I hope the drinks do really well for them.
@@WalkAboutWayne Thanks Wayno. That's very reasonable. I really enjoyed this (and all) your videos!! Purity of the 100 year old well water blew my mind! Keep up the excellent contents mate your channel is real and authentic...not click bait!
I live right in the area and haven't heard of this before! Don't really drink much but am really interested. There's a classic, old school Lao Khao (rice 'wine' though it's distilled so, more 'whisky',) place somewhere in San-Pa-Tong that I haven't been able to find, some where near the Mae Ping (Ping river.) I've had an odd shot or cap full of Lao Baan (house whiskey) made locally (at the risk of going blind,) and some is really good, with herbs macerated in it so it's almost a Gin. Be nice if some of the locals had a chance to work their magic with that high end production instead of clay pots and bamboo water jackets like they use. Another name for the local moonshine is 'Whisky Baan Khoo' or "hide in the bushes by the house whiskey!" Always gets me a laugh from the locals if I ask for some.
They certainly look like they have done a lot of research & the setup looks top notch - Thanks WW ✔️👌👋👍🙏
It's a proper set up mate. Hope it does well. Cheers Ant.

great video looks a good set up, very early stages at the moment it would be nice to go on a tour and tasting session and stay over 👍😎🥂
It would be great to stay over once the rooms are done. The drinks are really clean tasting, so easy to keep drinking .
So they are open for visits? Looking to stop by in March
You can pop in but it's probably best to get in touch first. Either on the website or through social media.
Good to see.

How much is the price mate? Their website has no prices. Great vid Wayno.
I think they're around 1000 Baht (£23) for the big bottles mate. I had the prices on my other video but forgot on this one. Cheers mate.

Nice one! I had some lao Khao today. A Thai guy at the market always gives me a double. I'll have to look out for the other one.
Steffin is to dam RICH
🤣🤣
Well Wayne, couldn’t watch the whole thing because that guy was a little too impressed with himself for me
I think that’s a little unfair mate. He’s very proud of the product and so he should be.
Passionate
Correction: San Pa Tong 🤦♀
Correction: San Pa Tong is a district of Chiang Mai 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne Yeah, that's what I meant, lol
