I am always saluting fellow P car owners but I am not related that "crazy guy" in your first story. A 981 Cayman S owner and Porsche Club member from Dublin, Ireland. 😂

That is funny! That guy might be a long lost relative that made it to the West Coast of the US. My brother and sister in law live in Ireland. Love your country! Thanks for the comment.

New sub! If you had gotten yourself a Lamborghini or Ferrari instead, you would not have such cute stories, but of the other kind..
I’ve got many such stories over the years, but the most unforgettable, is the one from 2 yrs ago, when after our national day parade, which is a huge thing here in Norway, driving home with my two boys in the back seat of my then guards red 964 Turbo, a 75-ish yr old woman crossed the street in front of me. She stopped in the middle of the street and turned towards us while making a kissing face, an hour glass shape with her hands, and pumping her hips towards us. The men in suits carrying their toddlers lining the street around us, tried their best not to look in our direction.
After driving the hell away from the “situation” I herd from my 12 yr old in the back seat: “Dad? Are you comfortable with the attention we get in Ms Turbine (the name on our 964Turbo)? “
    “Not always kid. Not always...”

Nord Mann, that story is so funny! Thanks for sharing it. What a mature comment from your 12 year old! That just cracks me up. Great to hear from Norway! I spent time there many years ago just after college. I love the place!

@@Kirbys911Heaven I’m actually surprised to learn how many I interact with online who’ve been in Norway, a small country in a remote corner of Europe.
Actually I did fifth grade in a public school (Palmer Elementary) in Newport News, Virginia, so I’ve got some experience from the U.S. also. Not many Porsches or super cars to see in that area though.

I drove the 2020 911 for a month under the Porsche Drive program. Guys I know for the most part didn’t ask about the car. It almost seemed they figured it wasn’t in the cards given their life situations (I’m widowed so don’t need permission). Otherwise I just drove the car and had a blast. I have a 996 911. It’s the same thing. Around OC not much attention. An occasional “nice car” but people don’t treat you any different positive or negative if you drive a Porsche. Only car guys notice. My girlfriend loved the 2020 but I don’t think women in general give a rip.

Buying a Porsche has changed my life. I'm the same guy as before, still there's nothing special about me. It's been 15 years now, I still own a 997. Back in 2007 we founded here in our county in Germany a so called "Porsche regular table" where once a month we meet for dinner and some non-alkoholic drinks (because we all go there in our Porsches). Over the years these guys have become friends with whom I took tons of rides around the block and several gorgeous trips to mountain roads up to tours through the Alps. Porsche has been a childhood dream of mine and has definitely changed my life.

Men stop and talk to me all the time about my Porsche, usually when getting fuel.

Interesting. I live on the east coast and get various reactions from people when I take my 2008 Porsche Carrera S out for its exercise. It is an intense automobile that demands attention and respect. It handles and accelerates synonymously to what one would expect and perceive. I am an avid fan and completely satisfied with my purchase two years ago. Thank you for your insight and videos.

Great stories Kirby! I’m a member of the Porsche Club of America and find it completely worthwhile. Did my first track day recently and am doing Concours school next. Cant say enough about the club and what you can get out of it - it brings ownership to another level

That’s funny...I met Magnus as well one day when he organized a meet up. Very nice guy! I’ve had a guy drive up to me while refilling at a gas station just ask me if my 997S was for sale. I said thanks but no and he almost angrily drove off. Lol. I can only imagine what kind of experiences Ferrari drivers get.

I live in a small village on a rural road. I used to drive company cars (I had a budget and could make my own choice) and I drove fully specced Skoda Octavia's. Neigbours in my street used to nod when I was passing by or working in the garden, except a family driving big Mercedes and BMW cars living across the road. Then I bought my Porsche 997 and suddenly this same man talks to me when I am on the front yard and salutes me when he passes by in his big Mercedes. And I still am the same person.
So it realy matters to some people what car you drive to determin wheter you are important enough for them to be spoken to. This is a thing I don't like about driving a Porsche.

"Dresses make people" we say in Germany. It's seems to be a fact, although I dislike that. A rascal in a tuxedo still is a rascal.
