The purpose of this video is to show you what type of bulb to use as a replacement to the stock one. It took me a while to figure out it was an 1157 bulb. Pick the LED of your choice since by the time you order yours the one I ordered may or may not be available. The one I ordered was from Amazon in the "Kitchasy Store". Did you ever discover any bore scoring? I have a 996.2, totally enjoyable, but any ticking or wobbling makes me nervous.
No bore scoring that I am aware of 😅. Thank you for the comment. Enjoy your 911!
You lost me at specking with the tip.
So sorry to lose you on that.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you
You are welcome. Thank you for watching.
Excellent video. Great that you mentioned to half fill the filter housing. But…..you left out the final step…resetting the oil service interval lamp.
I like driving my 911 going up the Crest but not so much going back downhill
Because its too hard ti find a manual
That was helpful. Thank you for posting your video!
Very helpful thanks
Glad it helped!
Your car deserves better quality oil than this crappy Mobil 1
I'm sure it does.
Let me know what you recommend.

@@Kirbys911Heaven please post how you handle your transmission oil change..... great video
Thanks for this informative video.
Glad it was helpful and thank you for your comment.
I'm a 60 year old construction worker who's waited 40+ years to buy my dream 911... Well I finally did it a few minths ago, its a low mileage 997.1, and I'll say, is what it is, cross that bridge when and if it happens, but in the mean time, having the time if my life driving the car of my dreams thats exceeded everything I ever thought this car was capable of... F the naysayers!!!
Congratulations on the 997! I agree with you completely. Just enjoy the car and stop worrying about what ifs.
your mystery "electrical" connection which is actually mechanical, that pulls to the right of the car, is to open the hood from the inside, even though nobody fits inside the hood, it is a DOT requirement. The other cable that pulls to the left (driver) fender is the emergency mechanical cable that is supposed to pull from inside the latch. Somehow, someone left it there, not knowing how to install it and route it properly.
Ah, that's it! Yes, I see that glow in the dark handle inside. Forgot about that. Someone commented on another video that in Europe they don't have that handle. DOT it is. Thanks for the info!
I don’t use a car ramp or jack because my driveway slopes. So parking in the garage such that the rear protrudes over the beginning of the slope allows enough space to work.
That sounds perfect. Thank you for the comment.
Video could def use some music over hearing your grunting.
Oh but then you would have no idea how hard I worked at changing the oil. Lots of grunts.
What a great bike!
Nice job Kirby!
997.1 same shape as .2, nicer rear taillights shape than the .2. A lot cheaper, no brainier PDK is not worth the extra $.
Thank you for your comments Thomas.
That’s why Ferrari and corvette don’t have stick anymore, old men are lazy farts
Does the Porsche have blinker fluid
I am always saluting fellow P car owners but I am not related that "crazy guy" in your first story. A 981 Cayman S owner and Porsche Club member from Dublin, Ireland. 😂
That is funny! That guy might be a long lost relative that made it to the West Coast of the US. My brother and sister in law live in Ireland. Love your country! Thanks for the comment.
great video! if i would make a humble suggestion to get wheel chocks from harbor freight, they are pretty cheap.oh and run some oil around the filter ring to seal it.
Great idea @davidjperri. I appreciate the comment.
w the screws on mine are very tight, how did you get yours loose?? I don't want to strip them.
Mine are very tight and I am worried that I will strip them too. I think they screw into the plastic of the lens. Thanks for your comment.
Did you do the puddle lights? I want them now! The ones on suncoastparts says they're for 2013 and newer. Just wondering if they will fit or if we need a different part for 997.1 /John
I didn't do this yet. I haven't found ones that fit but haven't tried that hard. Let me know if you find any. Thanks for the comment!
I don't use car ramps, you should use a standard low profile jack and axel stands. You will be surprised how much oil stays in the car if you don't level it again after the main oil drainage.
Great point. I may buy a second set of ramps to get the car level. Thanks for the comment!
@@Kirbys911Heaven If you're not strapped for cash I highly recommend getting yourself a Quickjack lift. They're around $1500 but you will use it all the time to even clean/wax your car at waist height. You can also remove your wheels and clean them on the inside on a regular basis. Get the TL because the TLX doesn't fit under the 911. The TL version will also fit under the E46 but if you have a 5 or 7 series (E39 / E38) then you will need the longer version (TLX). If you get a TL version then you can buy an extender insert plate to make it work with the 5-series. I have two of them. Best tool I have. I use it every day. /John
@@johnwoolfrey5093 Wow, I just looked up the Quickjack lift and that does look like the ultimate way to do it. Thanks for the tip. I have to wait on additional car related purchases but that is a great idea for on-going maintenance. Thanks for your comment.
It really is easy. I don’t fill the canister half full or pull the fuses. In fact, I’ve added a spin on oil filter adapter, so now I just use a spin on filter. I use an oil pan the is basically a jug with a removable drain so once the oil drains, you replace the drain and it’s a jug. So no pouring until you get to AutoZone, O’Reilly’s or wherever you recycle your oil.
Thank you @K1dPhresh1. I think pulling the fuse is probably overkill. I didn't know you could replace it with spin on filter. Great idea. Yes, was thinking of one of those drip pans too. I was wondering how that type handles the initial splash but that is probably something any solution has. Thanks for the comment!
@@Kirbys911Heaven LN Engineering offers the spins on filter adapter. I got a cheap drain pan/jug from Auto Zone or wherever. It splashes too but I keep a few big Amazon boxes in the garage to throw down when I change my oil and toss them when I’m done.
@@K1dPhresh1 thanks for all the great ideas.
Excellent tutorial, Descriptive, informative and well done! Maybe your next video could show your audience how to replace the cabin filter and air filter? Just a thought from a fellow 2008 911S owner
Well that IS a great idea. Let me figure out where that is first and I may just do a video. Thanks fellow 911S owner @firstson6626!
great car and tutorial, nice content :) have a good day
Thank you for the comment @Szadov!
This is exactly the information I was searching for any YOU have it with the LED replacement bulb info. I have a 2022 RE 650 Intercepter. I trust this is the right bulb replacement.
and yes, Thank You.
Glad it helped! Yes, it’s the right bulb and I have been happy with it since I installed it. Next bulb I need to think about is the indicators but it presents the “rapid flash” issue from what I heard.
@@Kirbys911Heaventhere is a flasher relay module just besides the other relays located under left panel under the seat. Replace that with a flasher unit for led bulbs and it will blink exactly like stock did.
@@diaryofawanderingboot thank you very much.
The PCM2 BOSE sound system is absolute garbage .. no one should ever go through life listening to this junk. Yank the dinosaur out and replace the amp and head unit with modern components
Love this guys knowledge and voice!
It’s good to have closure, thanks for the grand finale content on the 911. Thanks!

Beautiful car…..Drive the wheels off that puppy …Miles of smiles…..😀😀
Thank you very much! Your comment is a good reminder to enjoy the moment, something I need to do more of.
Had a 968 tip in high school and it sucked. All my p cars are manual but….I just bought my wife an 05 boxster tip and I’ve actually really enjoyed it just in auto mode. I was really impressed with how intelligent the computer is. I’ll never get used to shifting from the steering wheel or using paddle shifters, it’s just not my kind of fun. If I lived or dealt with high traffic areas, I’d seriously consider a tip or pdk in my mid 40s.
I think the keys are personalized for the seat memory. If you have key2 and have set your seat position it will automatically adjust.
Ah, ok got it. Thank you. I have power recline but manual forward & backward so didn't notice that.
Good video. We were all there once. The steering is amazing, best I’ve ever driven on that front too. My engine had the dreaded bore scoring though, so it went back to the dealer. It was fast & fun while it lasted. Got a hot back, even with AC I found. You cannot see the rear spoiler when your driving and that’s a shame. I never knew whether it was up or down half the time. Parking can be hard as you can’t really see the rear quarters due to the large wheel arches, which are cool. 997.1 is a good looking car, but the engine lets it down. Get the piston barrels fixed & it’ll be a classic if not already. You can see the 1964 heritage in the .1; the Carrera 2 is all you need. I never used the centre console, too busy driving it but they do offer a touch screen replacement now for £1500.
Sorry about the bore scoring! Yes, if I ever do have bore score I might bore it out to a 4.0. Thanks for your comments.
awesome
Poor product info just post product # as shown on your Invoice . Clear as can be.
Thanks for the input. That’s what I thought I did with picture of Amazon sku.
This is what mines doing but honestly your explanations, stopping, starting, rephrasing your instructions made me very irritated. I would have a hand written speech for the viewers and just read it and also not show a still photo of the engine while you talk. That doesn’t help the viewers any.
Thanks for your comment. Made my morning. ;). Bottomline is if this is happening to you then the possible fix is to secure the engine compartment temperature sensor so it’s not dangling into engine and touching anything that causes it to get an incorrect reading.
thanks
Thx for the videos! See ya around! Hey check out the Ammo cleaning products! Great stuff..
