@@PHlophe It’s not simply for marketing wym? They’re relaxed and it’s about setting the mood and vibe while explaining everything thoroughly and precisely. What do you define as “natural”? It was a more professional way of speaking, nothing like the loud and overly obnoxious speaking of today. They were generally very well spoken and articulate back in the day, doesn’t mean they were trying to be pretentious. In fact, this is late 80s, going into the 90s, where femininity was becoming more bold and empowering, but not toxic like today’s standards. So, they didn’t need to be a “damsel in distress”, they were becoming empowered and self sufficient. This is a makeup video, you think they were marketing this to men? No, men wouldn’t watch this in the 80s and early 90s, so they weren’t under the impression that they needed to conform to an “act”. This is a time where women were being more independent from that, they were just being genuine, kind and feminine, at least that’s my take on it.
@@LittleOzzyLand it is marketing. These women are told since birth women and children are SEEN not heard. There's a real charm about 1989, I can feel the trends shifting their bold colors from the makeup to the clothes, and the modern, natural-toned look coming into vogue after the birds-nest hair and overall "Dynasty" look. It's such a lovely continuum of beauty during this time, as well as music.
@@KerriganTisdale Yes it was, I still find myself in awe over the overall standards of the time, it was absolutely fantastic to say the least. Thank you, Wayne Goss, this is insanely fascinating. I think the most curious is the little intermission about the hair and the full makeover. This is how I wore my makeup all through high school: smugged eyeliner, black mascara, minimal foundation, sheer lipsticks. This look is such a contrast, almost rebellion to the the harsh 80s looks the came before it.
I learned to apply makeup first from this video back in 1992 when I was 12/13. Then I got the Alexis Vogel makeup video (I recommend if you haven’t seen). I’ve not seen a Bobbi Brown video. I need to look that up.

I knew Victoria before Wayne
I didn’t exist when this video was filmed. 😂
Kathleen is 65 years old as of 2021 and has been married to Thomas Dolby since 1988. Ah-mazing.
She is still gorgeous too....imo.
I so remember watching these infomercials when I was young. I wanted a kit so bad! Mom said no 💁🏻♀️
I absolutely adore the 80s style
This was more 90s. The 80s was loud colors, heavy makeup. Very bold.
Going into the 90s was the soft and natural look....such as this. I miss both decades for sure.
@@DefectiveDetectiveJthere were 80s look that were natural too. Highly recommend you look into that
@@H.rgirlie if you say so.
This was the makeup my mother wore because it didn’t make her itch or breakout.
Damn, this song slaps.
ok thank you for uploading that in TH-cam that’s changed whole of my concept about make up these days all make up so heavy and make u so old but here is different also women all look beautiful here and more skinny what happed to us at 2000 we think that’s heavy make up look and fake big eye lashes are pretty plus our body is getting bigger
Victoria, your makeup, is the very best!
The actress said she was in high school 20 years ago?? She looks like she's 20, what witchcraft is this?
Been acting for twenty years. Maybe 21 haha
It's the Victoria Jackson magic 🤣
Kathleen Beller was born in 1956. So she was 33 in this video.
Best #unintentionalASMR ever
Fell asleep from thid lol this is great asmr
I loved watching this as a kid on late night tv. Funny enough, in the early 90's when I first saw Victoria's Secret catalogs (friend's older sister got them) I thought it was started too by Victoria! 🤣 I remember thinking wow she does makeup and started a lingerie line!! 🤷♀️😂
😅😁
I had this kit I loved it
Thank you Wayne Goss! This is great!
Dan Bell needs to see this.
Why¿??
I MISS her makeup line!!!
I keep looking at the girl who was the host. I remember her as an actress. Didn’t she play the character “Fallon” In Dynasty? After the original actor left the part? I could be wrong. Guess I could google it. Nope I was was part right. She played Kirby Anders on Dynasty. I didn’t know but she is married to musician Thomas Dolby who was famous for his song “She Blinded Me With Science”
VJ Makeup is so simple and enhances beauty which i love . It doesn’t make a oerson look different
This is gold!
Her packaging looks very NOW. Love it
