Thank you! I just made a big purchase of a new 4k streaming camera for the show. This helps take a small amount of the sting out, haha.

The opening credits in this movie is one of my all-time favorites! So glad Adam mentions it.

The true irony of the movie (especially for those of us who saw it when it came out) is that Victor Bout gets out at the end, like real life.

I think the opening scene (from production of the bullet until hitting the target) is one of the best openings in a movie I've ever seen. The movie in general is great.

I actually rewatched this movie somewhat recently, I forgot how awesome it is. Not your typical action by numbers, cookie cutter Nic Cage movie, it actually has some substance and some really intriguing social commentary. And also Cage being bat shit insane. Gotta have that. Give the people what they want!!

I actually own this film on 4K, in my opinion one of Cages best. I for one could not sell arms to vicious warlords. Yuri comes close to being killed on several occasions.

I for one am LOVING the current Nick Cage renaissance. Willy's Wonderland, Color Out of Space, Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, hell, even Prisoners of the Ghostland was pretty fun! (Didn't care so much about Mandy, but it had its moments) I'm at the point now where I'm just hungry for anything he does!

@Adam, Yaaaaaaaay! That was so worth it!!! It was fun for me!
I didn't provide any context so you'd go in fresh.
Not my "favorite" movie, but I was surprised by how competent and innovative it was. Also, the whole 'collapse of the Soviet Union' aspect was interesting as well.
Not generally a Cage fan, but I thought he did a good job. Worth a watch, especially in context of current events.
Thank you @Adam, that was fun and WORTH SIGNING UP FOR YOUR PATREON!!!

My favourite Nic Cage film. It is a carbon copy of Depp's Blow, except it's about weapons instead of drugs. Watch them back to back and you won't be able to unsee it.

Iceman with Michael Shannon is pretty similar too, except he gets caught up in the Mafia instead of guns or drugs. Nothing wrong with sticking to a formula if it's a great formula. I guess we can call it the "rags to riches to self destruction" formula.

Yelp that scene with the cargo plane being stripped and Nicholas Cage having to be stuck there the entire time while Ethan hawke leaves and then comes back is without a doubt a fantastic fucking scene. Hands down to be quite honest this should have won Oscars man this was such a phenomenal film that it's a rare unicorn from Hollywood and so so often we are shoved bullshit movies but then once in a great while we get a movie like this that is like a fine fine wine paired with a nice cut of veal. It's just smack right in the face amazing

This is one if not the most favorite Nicholas Cage movie he's ever made to me. It is probably without a doubt my favorite Nicholas Cage movie but man there are so many Nicholas Cage movies that are fantastic that it's really really hard to pick one. I like pretty much everything he does from the movie knowing to Conair the rock even that artistic independent movie called pig where he basically didn't say anything and the theatrical release of them movie where he played a real life version of himself meeting another person who was a big fan but the guy was like drug runner or CIA kind of person whatever I don't remember the name of it it was over the top Nicholas Cage and it was fantastic. I also liked the drive angry movie. Nicholas Cage is literally one of the greatest actors ever I don't care what anyone says. He just has an extremely wide range of acting abilities that most people don't have. Cuz most and I mean like a general 90% of actors literally just play themselves in every movie and I can name a few that are extremely well-loved and famous and well-known such as Al Pacino Robert de Niro The Rock but one real infamous one that a lot of people used to love maybe they still do I never have and I absolutely hate him is Will Smith. Will Smith is the most talentless hack of all time. And the reason I say that is because Will Smith doesn't play an actor in any movie Will Smith plays Will Smith as Will Smith in a Will Smith movie. Just look at the slap of Chris Rock at the Oscars how he acted how he walked how he looked and how he talked and tell me if I'm wrong or not but is that literally not how he acts in every movie? Either he was acting when he slapped Chris Rock which I don't think he was or will Smith like I stated previously is a shit actor because he's not an actor Will Smith just plays Will Smith in everything real life or fake

The opening sequence of this movie is one to literally behold if you haven't seen it. It shows a bullet from its creation and it's complete journey through the world lol all the way to where it ends up into a gun and then is used to kill a person. If you haven't seen the opening sequence of this movie it is oscar-worthy just for the first 5 minutes or so of the beginning of the movie I'm not joking this is not an over-exaggeration. Do you remember in the movie Goodfellas when Ray liotta and his date are going through the restaurant through the kitchen through the hallways and into the dining room next to the stage with the table and everything that long drawn out one shot of the movie Goodfellas? That was fantastic right? It's like that times a billion. You will never ever see another opening sequence I believe honestly like the Lord of war and that bullet from beginning to end you understand the character of the bullet itself. The bullet should literally get a credit in this movie in the end credits when they are listing the characters the bullet should literally have its own credit I'm not kidding. And I honestly hope that Adam from this channel will see my comment and put his comment and opinion on what I have stated right here about this. One can only hope what do you think Adam?

Adam if you really loved and appreciated this movie you should check out the Tom Cruise vehicle okay the Tom Cruise actual true story movie of him as a drug runner out of Arkansas I can't off the top of my head think of the name of it something American something or another I'm sure you can figure it out but it's in this kind of vein of movie and it's also phenomenal and a true story and everyone will understand who and why Arkansas is as corrupt as it is and how the Iran Contra thing happened and it's unbelievable to be quite honest just as amazingly unbelievable as Lord of war is. Adam I really hope you watch the Tom Cruise true story drug running movie hint Hillary and Bill Clinton are involved
