Hi Alessia, just wanted to say thank you for sharing these on TH-cam. I used to be a figure skater many years ago and we've done class, but rather without fantasy and variation. I switched to track and field once at the university and haven't done anything barre related for at least 10 years. I was quite lucky to get pregnant just as corona started to spread last year :D so being stuck in my four walls, not being able to jog, swim or row for months I picked up with ballet and have exercised almost every day since. I haven't felt as strong as now since many years! Your classes helped me go smoothly through my delivery, helped my belly muscles rapidly close afterwards, helped me deal with and largely avoid symphysis pubis problems... I even did a leg class two days before delivery :D I am now thinking to join Lazy Dancer Studio - there is much more videos in there, is that right? Great video as always :D I was wondering if you could do a video about adult ballet, and what are yours thoughts on it and what are usually the biggest challenges for an adult (and how to overcome them). Do you believe someone who starts an adult can become a good ballet dancer (not a professional, of course)? I know, kind of a big request, but who knows... Thanks for your great work!!
We enjoyed this one, we did not manage to copy the hiccup but we are trying to copy her poise which is not easy to do. It easier when you are sitting on the floor as in this one.

I also have some furry trouble every time I get on the floor for exercises, but he's a bit bigger - a rough collie, so we're wrestling a bit by the time the workout is nearly finished; I think he loves your cats!! xxx

how do I go about making sure I'm using my abs and not my lower back? I've always had difficulty centering myself with my abs and not my back. I'm scooping, but I still feel pain in my lower back. Thats not normal is it?
Audrey try not to go too low, the moment you feel you are loosing your abs and engaging back, come up higher. Next time slightly lower with the same feeling in mind. If the set is too long cut a couple of reps out, and add them gradually :) Kissy

We work the whole core, therefore love handles included. it's a bit of a myth that we need to work sideways for love handles. If we concentrate on scooping and elongating, your laterals will work too. Also the Twists will help focusing on those love handles :) Have Fun! :D
