What a cracking little bike . I had a ‘candy wine red’ one , back in ‘78 , £727 brand new !Commuted to work on it week days and had amazing fun on it at the weekends with my mates on their RDs and GTs. The noise, the smell……. happy days .
I had one, Kenny my bestie sold it to me to order to buy the latest, and greatest an RD250LC. Well, I say sold it but I took over the H.P. payments. That was the only way, I scraped and scraped by doing what I could but it was worth it in every way imaginable. Having that bike was everything, and more. Good times, let them roll !
My mates Brother brought one of these new with his apprentice wages KFM189T' I think inspired me to buy KMB 821T a few yrs later, with 3 Microns K&n's rearsets a 'Kork Ballinton fairing and a thirst for petrol like a supertanker- but what a Frogging memory- it would pass anything - just before it would kill yet another plug- or run out of fuel midweek! She broke my bank account and my heart more than any girl. I will never forget her! Or pushing her to the next petrol station with 2 quid in my oil stained jeans.
my very first motorbike straight out of the crate I was working in a cotton mill then one day my boss came with the wages great a wage rebate I've never forgot my first bike many year later I thought I saw it on a main road where I live outside a chippy waited for the man to come out was talking to him and realized it used to be my old bike wish I would have said to him is it for sale mate
