Going back to individual ESCs is starting to make more sense, since the prices of All-In-One ESCs and FC stacks are going up. I'd be happy if I could simply swap a $15 ESC when it blows. This is how all of my fixed wing planes are built.
Hi James, did you buy it? i am also planning to get one for free style as im on a tight budget. was wondeing if i should go with the darwin 250 as that is also in the same price range.
Just snagged me one off marketplace dude built it and bricked the board he donated me everything I can't wait to rip it different platform than my cines pre shade the content as usual brother
Hi Steve as usual I really enjoyed this review. I also like when the other Steve takes your drones for a test and his honest reviews. The two Steve’s show you gonna have to start paying him soon now that,he’s making a regular guest appearance! 👍👍👍
I love it I have all the eachine quads still 5 years now I never had any issues with there products. Not happy with the price EACHINE LOWER THE PRICE AND YOU BANK!! Great drones I still fly them evey now and then🤘😎🤘
The original eachine wizard was my first real quad good times I gave it to my cousin and he still has it he never flew it but he did try to hover it in his house and it was a catastrophe 😆
I just bought this drone. Will be here in about 2 weeks. Can't fly, I do use liftoff and can fly a bit there. Also own a tinyhawk 2 freestyle kit Can hover a little. Scared to really move lol. Guess since I have a second drone on the way I can get a little brave and try to move around a little bit. Definitely ha e the equipment. Taranis xd9 plus and fatshark attitude goggles and the box goggles that came with the tiny hawk. Hopefully since I'm dedicated in gear I can learn to fly better.
If you have never flown a drone, then it might be a good idea to begin with a GPS camera drone (everything comes in a box ready to fly). The FPV hobby is a much different hobby compared to the beginner GPS camera drone hobby. If you watch episode one of my video series CAPTAIN DRONE FPV FOR BEGINNERS, then you’ll understand the differences.
I Steve over in uk we would not really be allowed to fly near school wen its school hrs Are the fields you fly from part of school land etc Just curious We once had a school field for model aircraft but only when school was shut usually weekend Great video again Steve Thanks john from barnsley uk
the x220s original was a tank i crashed it so many time. also i crashed it in a lake. took me 1 week to locate it and rescue it. guess what it still work :)
Hello, thank you for the review. I have two questions: What is the expected flight time with a 1300mah battery ? And also do you think the esc/electronics support 6S battery (with reducing power output in BetaFlight) ? Thanks
Wow! Great price! Does it have stability mode for fpv noobs such as myself? I'm still intimidated by fpv... Fantastic video. Makes me want one! What is the range to expect from this quad?
For newbies, this is not one to consider because you need knowledge of how to operate a radio, how to set up a drone in a radio, knowledge of batteries and how to charge them, knowledge of FPV goggles and finally the highest of hand/eye coordination. You’re best to get a Ready To Fly all in one FPV kit. I have reviewed many on this channel.
Hi Steve, u mentioned in the video everything comes built apart from the receiver which you sticky taped below, are you able to show where on the drone u had to plug it into? is everything pretty much modular in this drone? if i was to buy this, what cheap controller would u recommend to go with this?
My receiver is an FRSKY XM+ that was taken off one of many FPV drones. It has a nice Futuba style connector on the receiver which means I just literly plugged it into the WIZARD, because the WIZARD has such a connector. Once you plug one into the other, you then just bind the receiver to your radio and setup of the flight controls in BETAFLIGHT CONFIGURATOR. If you are unfamiliar with the connector type, just send me an email and I'll send you a photo. Captaindrone798@gmail.com
You really need to do some research to learn about the FPV RC Hobby. You should focus on how a radio binds to a receiver. You need to know this because it is up TO YOU to put a receiver in the drone and then bind to it with a radio. This means you need to use a radio that is compatible with the receiver you place in the drone. Best company is RADIO MASTER for quality inexpensive radios.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 that’s what I thought and I did some research after I asked that question and continued doing more. What I was getting at was I guess I was asking like if a certain one was required or if you just had to make sure your receiver and radio were compatible. I was also wondering what the best budget one would be so thank you
@@Kypoint_YT In my review I used a simple FRSKY XM+ receiver and I bound it to the radio you saw in the review. Most people in the RC Hobby will buy a RADIOMASTER brand radio with a 4 in 1 chipset so that they can bind to some of the common receivers, as well as place moduals on the back of the radio to communicate with crossfire and ELRS receivers.
I really like the effects you can create with those insta360 cameras. Why would I even consider something like that Avata when I could just get something like this instead.
I just got my wizard 220 - spent an hour setting it up - took it out for its virgin flight (about 3 minutes).....landed and swapped batteries - tried to take off and found a blown ESC!......what a piece of CRAP!!!!
From that comment I'm guessing you have never experience a true FPV drone in your presence. Real FPV drones are massively powerfull and when they spin the props are crazy high speeds, you get that true FPV sound.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 True. Been saving my pennies for a FPV drone, but shit keeps getting in the way - emergency this, yada, yada. Would love to get a follow-me drone to record my outdoor fun.
And to the think the V1 was got me into this amazing hobby. The rest is history
I think there are plenty of people In the same situation who began with the Wizard

Now it makes sense why I'm seeing so many fpv drones made from old wizard v2 parts
I did not expect this kind of performance at all. For the price it is one to add to our collections.
Thanks Captain
Hi James, did you buy it? i am also planning to get one for free style as im on a tight budget. was wondeing if i should go with the darwin 250 as that is also in the same price range.
Hi Steve…. Good morning, as a low cost budget drone this one is just awesome. Thanks for explaining everything details.
Thank you!
If the price of electronics stays high, individual ESCs might make a comeback.
Looks like a great little drone Cap. it seems like a power horse. Love the entertainment as usual. Keep them coming Cap.
great review again Captain soon getting into fpv drone arrived waiting for radio then woopy soon be flying.
It is a great hobby that does not require very much space to have a blast
Well done Captain!; was quite surprised at the Camera quality (on board) and love the sound of these things ! (old school F1 on steroids!!)
Another great video with the Steve's..........Loved the drone.......😎
Just snagged me one off marketplace dude built it and bricked the board he donated me everything I can't wait to rip it different platform than my cines pre shade the content as usual brother
FREE is the best type of FPV drone there is! Well done!
After watching this can't say it's entry level 😎
Damn Steve your doing a great job making me want to get one I will tell you that much.....thanks again!! Big thumbs up from Boston, Ma!
The FPV hobby can be very addictive

wow awsome review captain.
Have a good week
Nice video Steve not bad for a wizard
Really nice set up
Really enjoying the insta 360 view!
Good morning really nice drone cool color
Really like these drones i got the jjrc version in 175 pro

$199 is pretty cheap, the v2 was more exspensive that this when it came out it was $229
@@jprizzle2604 I realize that it to stay in the game they should lower the price.
so cool keep up the good work
Always good review
Nice and very informed review!
Excellent Video and Excellent Flying. Thank You.
Thanks for checking it out

Hey Steve,
Hello,
What’s the most affordable digital 4k cinewhoop package for a beginner?
Thanks
Bob
There are no digital 4K FPV cinewhoops. The 4K is up to you by using a 4K external camera like a GoPro or naked GoPro or DJI action 2,or insta360, etc
Love your content!
Thank you kindly
Hey do you by chance have the factory preset saved for beta flight? I accidentally erased mine and it no longer works
What components/camera/drone do you recommend for a newbie who’s never flown a drone?

We once had a school field for model aircraft but only when school was shut usually weekend

Thanks john from barnsley uk
The school near where I fly is part of a shared city park. The school is welcome to use it, but does not own it.
Steve, thanks for the review, question, what ant., and setup do you have on your fat sharks?
I use the basic mushroom and patch antenna kit that are sold together for FATSHARK goggles.
Hi first love the channel but could we see some more gps drones
A few are coming up
Budget radio, received and goggles that will work with this?
the x220s original was a tank i crashed it so many time. also i crashed it in a lake. took me 1 week to locate it and rescue it. guess what it still work :)
It was a bullshit! The stock propellers were WRONG (too heavy) the signal from camera was full of statics and the esc was crap :/
I went from 3s 3", to 6s 5". I'll never buy anything lower than 6s for outdoors. Everyone needs a tinywhoop and 6s 5". The rest is specific use case
Hello, thank you for the review. I have two questions: What is the expected flight time with a 1300mah battery ? And also do you think the esc/electronics support 6S battery (with reducing power output in BetaFlight) ? Thanks
My flight time was 6 minutes. The ESC says it can handle 6s but the flight controller is not tuned for 6s so results are unpredictable.
A good one!
🙏🏼👍🏼🔥 .. how fast would you say the new v3 wizard is in mph ? 60 -70 mph?
I never measured the speed so I’m really not sure

In Norway it's so strict rules I can just fly drones less than 250 gramms
I like it

Hey Steve great review as usual. Would you recommend the Eachine novice 4 still? I’m trying to get into fpv.
Yes it’s a great drone
Yes, still a great starter package
Hello, been watching your videos for a couple weeks now. I was wondering whats a good beginner choice for an fpv kit that’s not too expensive?
Just do a TH-cam search for CAPTAIN DRONE FPV KIT
Where can i buy one.seem sold out everywhere.
This is an old product. FPV drones usually only last on the market for a year, then newer technology replaces everything.
Can you put an Elrs receiver on their?
Certainly
Nice 😎🤝
So is this drone better than eachine novice 4
This is a 5" drone. It is not something a person would compare to the very different drone type that comes in the NOVICE IV RTF bundle
What radio and transmitter would I need for this? Just getting into drones so I don’t know much about that

I see a bunch of 3d printed parts. I hope they make the .STL files available in cade folks need to replace delaminating or broken parts. 😁👍
4:24 *for a 4s right? It's not more powerful than a 6s

Awfully noisy! Is that the propellers creating that whine?
