What that presentation also needs to break out (beyond China's provinces) is the economic divide within the most prosperous countries, for example America's top 0.1, 1, and 10 percent vs. everyone else.

Life Expectancy stats are skewed due to extremely high infant death mortality rates pre industrialization!!
Pre industrialization, people(who survived birth) lived longer & healthier(chronic disease free) lives than they do today.

'that China would move so much faster than the United States' while using a logarithmic scale.

Got any data to support your claim? It is very easy to make claims and then quote something that fits our beliefs.
You see Hans does have data to support what he says. Not to mention that non processed food is easily obtainable in most industrialized countries also I don't know where you live but I was never forced to take any medication in my life.

    Lifespan is interesting...
Income is not: The value and total amount of USD is changing, so it is miss-leading to use it here as a constant axis.

How so? No one mentions a free market the entire time. In his other talks he mentions that centralized control by communist dictatorship held China back, but that's far different than a socialized economy, or any other economy really. Sounds like you don't like numbers that don't fit your world view.

Maybe higher taxes would be one way to solve some of the problems?

If u live in the USA your government medicates your water supply, fluoridation.
You are right non-processed food is easily obtainable, then most people do the worst thing they could possibly do to the non-processed food, they process it with heat "cooking", this is unlike every other species of animal on the planet that don't die from the early onset of chronic lifestyle related diseases.
For the data, I recommend you google "The China Study", the longest & largest study on nutrition ever.

all of this is sadly true, but it has to do with different reasons. one, the US debt, our government can not pay this off because of politics and war. two, us falling behind on education, all of those countries that are catching up to the US have better education than us. and three, the US government itself, with the government being so corrupted, we can not get rid of the debt, which in turn causes the government to cut back on everything, which then causes kids to be less educated.

Do you know why people cook food and why animals don't? It's because animals eat it fresh, so if you want people to eat raw meat, then why don't you start your own little organization where you hunt to survive and eat the food fresh. Otherwise, go right ahead and eat the raw meat right from the market, see how much sicker you will become than someone who cooks the food like a sensible person.
