Were you able to bench read it yet? I have this tool and I was able to bench read a CAS4 using the codiac adaptor and my laptop charger plugged into it.
Very nice work. And indeed, it's major to have a big power supply doing modules on these cars. Lots of guys do underestimate that fact. Thanks for sharing. dutch regards, Nico.
I've been thinking that perhaps you've been fighting and trying to make all of it work over the last few months. There's nothing more frustrating to an intelligent person when things don't do what they're supposed to do and you're DOING IT RIGHT. LOL. Yet you know others are making it work but they aren't helpful (Even if they're trying) and you're spending money you don't have for it and it shouldn't be costing yet you KNOW IT CAN WORK!! Argh!. I rarely get very angry with people even if they've done me wrong. But I do get angry with inanimate objects that don't do what they're supposed to do. (One of my many faults lol). Well I'm very glad you were able to crack it and I'm sure you learned a ton while hammering away at it all. Kudos to you sir! Thank you for sharing. (P.S. What are "Dutch Regards"?).
haha, man we are on the same page. I have a fascination with understand things. Well things i am interested in. So i feel like i am reverse engineering this tool. But we are getting there. If it just did what it said on the label, it would be much nicer. Oh and i assume they are like Aussie Regards... but from the netherlands.
I jeut received the cable you are referred to and with vvdi2 was able to read 2 cas3 istap module's. My scenario isna 2010 mini. The customer bought a used dme ( ORIG had issued) i was able to read the isn with acdp but the acdp would not read the cas3 to write the new isn onto the cas3. I'm guessing the encryption is keeping that from happening. I was able to add a key with vvdi2 with no issues but i still need the write the isn from the used dme to the cas3. Any suggestions...
Do you know if the VVDI can read out the ISN from an encrypted CAS? eg - original ECU screwed, CAS has the ISN but it's encrypted, but you at least have keys, and all you need is to find an unencrypted ISN.
It can and it will..... sometimes. VVDI run a modified firmware on the cas, it will write to the cas, then you can extract the isn. On most, its fine to throw the cas back in the car and you are good to go. However sometimes you will need to flash the cas again with winkfp. Also i know, some late model cas it wont work on. But seems pretty good on pre 2010 model cas that have had the istap upgrade done.
Very very random but as an IT technician I just want to ask. Is there anything in the event log of the PC that could point you into directions of problems in the future or the past?
I only checked the log for BIMtool, and i have to be honest it was a scrambled mess i couldnt make sense of. But if i looked further, i bet it would have shown the issue.
Hi if i backup cas3++istap with r270 flash and eep . then I made a key via obd. if the job fails. I downgrade my backup made with r270 will the car start with the original key? thank you and nice work
The original key should still work, but if you make a key while its downgraded and then have issues and need to go back to the backup, the new key will not work.
Quick Xtrons question Andrew, if you have the Xtrons and a MHD WiFi adapter can you open MHD through the apple car play and get MHD gauge monitoring on the Xtrons screen? Did that makes sense?
Hello, today today tried to make remote key(keyless) for BMW330I year2008, E93. Using CGDI BMW and 100A stabilisator at 14,2V. It was CAS3+ istap, had to downgrade. Remote is working but car is not starting. Display on car says electric steering wheel lock defective. Can I repair this with BMW E series programming feature in CGDI BMW?? Anyone.
You may be able to resync elv and cas. I would try that first. However most likely will need stock software back on the cas. I the downgrade simply isn’t compatible with your vehicle.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Thank you mate. However, remote is working and keyless function. But car is not starting, not with old or new key. There is a function in CGDI BMW, choose BMW E series and choose program? Or maybe can repair with bim tool? But most likely, remove CAS module. Regards Jakob
@@jakoblinde6379 ISTAP cas modules can not be programmed via OBD. end of story. CGDI and VVDI both put a modified cas firmware on which allows access to the eeprom data. Now this modified firmware doesnt work with certain chassis. I have had it with 2 cars. I would try to reflash the cas with WINKFP. It will put standard BMW firmware back on the cas. I can not recommend winkfp enough, it will save you a lot when using cheap china key tools on BMWs. 99% of the bricks that occur can be fixed with winkfp through OBD. WinKFP does not modify the eeprom. So your new key data that CDGI put on the eeprom will still be there.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Removed CAS Module, read Eeprom and flash with VVDI Prog. Then one guy helped me fix files. I write them back and car start. How is that possible?? How did he do it ?

Best place to get a hold of us is the comments section on a video. If we get time we will reply to those. Or become a zeroto60 paid member. Paid members get priority.
Did you brick them or did the Bricktool brick them🤔what about CAS3++ now? Have you offset the cost of the therapist you need after getting all that cheap Chinese crap? I thought BMWs were bad with 20-30 modules. My Mercedes GL550 has 62 modules
Its really quite disappointing this day and age. Such bad customer service. I would never recommend buying it. How are they when you have problems with VVDI2? I have also just purchased a VVDI prog from them.
Your level of persistence is truly staggering

It did make sense and as far as i am aware, the MHD app is still blocked by apple car play. However you can just run MHD natively on the android unit.
Hi have the bmw x5m e70 cas 9389116 istap can I trust to make keyless go key for it Obd with bimtool? or buy cgdi what’s best
You can not trust VVDI for anything. It's very hit and miss. There seems to be niggles to making anything work.
VVDI should send you free tool for giving us the english users manual!
hey that would be nice, but they never answer emails as it is, so free tools probably wont happen lol.
I have bmw x5m e70 and cas 3 istap want to make a keyless go for it Obd can I tust this tool or cgdi is better
Just to clarify i dont think CDGI is any better. All the cheap tools are poor.
Yeah hextag 5700$ full program can do it all or bmw explore full 13k
never got that cas 3 plug to work on bim tool i tried forever, works great on vvdi 2 tho
I personally dont think the BIMtool can connect directly to the CAS, i think it needs a JBE for the connection.
cas cable works.sometimes can cables dont have connection
I tried 100 times i swear. Even tried using the cable i made to read the MSD80 DME, couldnt get bimtool to connect directly to the cas.
