      Hi Erika. For me it took 7 months ( which is the longest at that time), usually it takes 3-4 months, and these days it’s reducing.

    It’s interesting to see how the remote oath ceremony works and how Canadians (I am assuming only new Canadians) have to pledge their allegiance to Britain’s King Charles III. Congratulations on your Canadian citizenship. I am hoping to do that in the U.S. soon.

      @@aheat3036 Australia and New Zealand have their own King - who in fact is King Charles III. It's less about the actual person but the "crown", UK and Canada, Australia etc all have governments and laws which come from the crown. It's basically swearing to abide and be vulnerable to prosecution by the laws in that country.

    Congratulations. I have applied for citizenship and received AOR as well around a month ago, but when I am trying to create a tracker account, it is not allowing me and getting this error i.e. Incorrect or invalid information. Review and make sure it matches the information submitted on the Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] form or the Authority to Release Personal Information to a Designated Individual [IMM 5475] form. If you can’t create an account, it may be because your client’s application is not in our system yet. Not sure to whom I can reach out on this issue. any suggestions?

      Hi! Thanks so much! 😀 and best of luck. For you hardest part is over. Now it’s just a formality and some more wait :)
      So if ceremony is online, you get citizenship certificate in 2 weeks time max. ( for in person ceremony you get it at ceremony). After that you can apply for passport and from 2-20 days you get your pad fourth depending upon which fee you pay.
      Applied to test these days it’s 3-4 months but when I did it was 1 year wait almost. Ceremony you get in 4 months after test.

      Q2: if you come on PR then u have to stay in Canada for 3 years in 5 years from your first entry to Canada. It means you can leave and enter again in Canada as many times as u like but it should not effect your time period ( 3 years inside Canada out of 5 years).

      Hi Satinder. Thanks for asking.
      You don’t write officer’s name but initials only.
      You write the following in your (reply to ceremony invite) email subject: “Oath Form for February 15, 2023- 1:00 PM- NZ”
      Feb 15 is my ceremony date, 1:00 PM is ceremony time mentioned at top of the invite and NZ are the ceremony clerk’s initials. I hope it answered your question.

    How do you get the Canadian passport or citizenship after the ceremony?

    • @ammad_shah
      @ammad_shah  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi @Geetha. You reply to the email you get for the oath ceremony and attach the signed oath form in that email. Within two weeks of this you get citizenship certificate in your mail box ( delivered to your home address) you need the certification number mentioned on that to apply for passport ( so you can’t apply before getting the certificate). Once you get certificate you need to fill the passport application and go to passport office and based on the fee you pay you get your passport from 2-20 days.

Moreover, when after ceremony we take picture with judge on laptop, everyone switch off their cameras so that only judges’s face is on the screen and everyone else is hidden.

      Hi Jigar. It’s a bit complicated situation. Did you apply as family? If yes, Looks like your wife’s application is still in process. You need to contact authorities and ask them to have your ceremony together and in that case they will pause your ceremony or delay it to have your ceremony together ( they will tell you what can be done). Please do not just call and say you want to delay your ceremony because in that case they will just assign you next available slot so do mention your scenario and situation. I hope it will help.

      Hi. So as a student after completing your degree you get work permit for a few years depending upon the length of your course. For instance, if you are undergrad student with no work experience, you get work permit and find job, you need one year of work experience to apply for PR, once you get PR it takes 3 more years to apply for citizenship.. so it takes approximately at least 5-6 years for graduate students to get citizenship

    Bring back in person citizenship ceremonies 🙁 it's so important to just be a zoom thing. You need the feel of shaking hands, taking pictures, inviting friends and family, making memories of a lifetime. The liberals are devaluing Canadian citizenship one step at a time. The online citizenship ceremonies undermine the oath's significance. Some folks even have their phones ringing during the ceremony!

    • @ammad_shah
      @ammad_shah  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Could it agree more. It’s such an important day and in person feeling can’t match anything online. And online you wait for an hour blindly for officer to appear for credentials confirmation. Even online, yet this day has special significance and you feel that at that moment.

      If you are applying outside of Canada ( from your home country) First you need to get permanent residence and move to Canada. You need to stay 3 years in Canada in 5 years period from your first entry and then you are eligible to apply for citizenship. Once you apply, Canadian government check if you meet all requirements and then grant you citizenship.
