I love how painting the frame brings out all the carved details. :)

Love watching you do this. I did an armchair a few years ago. So many staples!! Lots of work but was rewarding. I can hardly wait for each video thru this process to see the finished chair! I enjoy your channel!

So true about the staples! But that means the piece was well made! We start attaching the fabric tonight, 2/22 at 8pm EST!

I don’t know if I would have the patience to do this or not, but having your two videos are definitely a great help! Thanks for the great videos and well explained instructions.❤

I have wanted to reupholster a chair forever but too intimidated to try. You make it look so easy. Can't wait to see more! ❤️

You can do it! Take pictures of the piece as you remove the fabric. That will be your guided to reassemble it. Work in small increments of time and before you know it , you’ll have a new chair!

Again, thank you for your step by step tutorial! I really like the colour you chose, I think it will compliment the fabric you chose.
Can’t wait to see the finished project!

I’m liking the color you picked. Great to know about the shoe polish brush. Makes perfectly good sense using it for the deep grooves. On to part 4.
    ♥️😊👍🌟

What is the sanding sponge you used? 🤷‍♀️
Also if you don’t have steel wool a brown paper bag gives a similar result 👍👍
Can’t wait to see the end result-great job!

I have been in the business for 30 years until I became ill and lost complete lung function . I truly believe that this sickness was caused from tearing down antique dusty furniture. So my life has unfortunately stopped at 50 yrs old. I cannot do normal chores anymore much less reupholster. I'm not trying to ridicule you in any way I just would like to suggest wearing a mask while ripping down pieces for your health, believe me not being able to breath is a nightmare come true, You do beautiful work in all that you tackle! I'm not trying to criticize, just concerned🤗

Brenda, thank you so much for your concern! I appreciate your advice :) And I am sorry to hear about your health issues related to the work you did for so many years. I will take your advice and pass it on in my next video. Fortunately I do not reupholster very often, maybe one piece a year. Usually I do the tear down in my outdoor workshop in with the garage door open for ventalation. Thank you so much for your wisdom! I really appreciate it! :)

It is interesting that you say this. Many years ago, when I was in my early 30's I took an upholstery class and I brought in an antique chair. I have always had severe asthma, and as soon as I started ripping off the old upholstery and batting I experienced such a severe asthma episode that I had to drop out of the class. I was on 60 mg of prednisone a day, had to get oxygen treatments etc, I was a mess. I second your opinion on wearing a mask, just to be safe. Look how we ignored asbestos for so long.

@edie9330 Wearing a mask is best! It sounds like you had quite the episode - hope you are fully recovered :) No pun intended!! 😊
