Thank you for showing us how to reupholster, deeply appreciated! The chair you chose to upholster was very similar to what my parents had, except it was like a cane fabric on the sides. The fabric was a deep red silky flower patterned on the back and cushion. The chair came with an ottoman, with a fringe material along the bottom, using tacks to hold it in place. I do wish I had that chair as it would it’s the type of furniture I like!
I have this very same chair, mine is dark green. I have wanted to tackle upholstering mine. I am looking forward to watching you reupholster this so I can do mine.
Hi, I’m the newbie LOL. This is so great of you to share how to reupholster a chair or maybe a couch. I have done this once but it was years I mean years ago. Back in the late 70tys LOL. I’m sure I messed up at it in fact I know I did but I did it. So I’m really looking forward to watching your videos on you doing that nice looking old chair. I’ll probably not comment on each video but will make my voice heard in time to time. I’m definitely going to invest in a stapler gun. I have a compressor so that will be no problem. So here we go…. Part 1 ♥️😊👍🌟🌟
Yay for tackling big projects! Thank you for watching the series - I hope it is helpful 😊 Feel free to ask questions if you need to! Happy project completing!
Beautiful Work on the many pieces You have upholstered. Looking forward in learning. Our Mom did a few pieces of upholstery and wished I Paid attention.. Thank You Peggy Tee
Do you have to lay upholstery fabric a certain way grain wise like you do in clothes sewing? My question comes from the thought of having a solid color and being able to use a smaller piece of fabric since most upholstery fabric is 54" wide.
I think it’s best to lay the fabric along with the straight of grain like you do with clothes sewing. You should also consider the nap of the fabric like you would in clothes sewing. It’s best if the nap goes in the same direction especially if it is prominent. Hope this helps!

Keep an eye out at your local vintage shops or maybe at estate sales. You can often find similarly styled chairs 😊

You're very welcome!
My hint, I always count tacks then at the end of the day I count again I have never stepped on one because of this practice.
That’s a great idea! Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks and looking forward to your next video! Have a blessed day 🌷🙏
Thank you! You too!😊
