Never had an Asrock motherboard so great to see a budget one being availale at this price point and paired with a low/mid spec AMD CPU would be the base of a nice 1080p gaming build. Nice set of features and still relevant while we wait for the AM5 chipset. Thanks Mike and Kath :-)

I've had this board for over 6 years, and it's been outstanding. It's gone from running a Ryzen 2600 to 5600 to now 5700X3D on the latest BIOS (5600 CPU reused in another build), and I've also upgraded to 32GB of 3600 MHz CL16 RAM, running flawlessly at full speed.

Yeah, I've used the B450M-Pro4 before. It's good for overclocking up to 8-core provided the airflow is decent. That board is cracking value as well. Shame ASRock seems to have lost its way recently.

I still have this mobo and I am extremely happy with it. It has all the features a mid-range mobo has for less money. Using it with a 3600 and, since yesterday, with a 6600xt. And yes, updating the bios, can turn the smart access memory on :)

I'm building a budget gaming PC for my nephew and I found this mobo for 80$ new. I got here to see if it's any good and I think I will decide to go with this one, especially since I will be building a system that's good for 1080p with max 200W total power consumtion so it should be fine.

This is the motherboard I have. Great board and I've had no problems with it. Only thing that sucks is how close a bulky GPU like my 6800xt gets to the bottom wires (reset, power, etc). Their bios update features keep up just as fast if not faster than some bigger name manufactures.
edit: I broke my addressable header. lol. I have a cheap $8 remote that works great but razer has a really enticing hub for $40 that I may grab and works with their software. Asrocks QVL shows some DDR4 3600 RAM. I've read on reddit and other sources, most work if you clock them just right under 3600

  • @Sobakin76

Have this for 3 years now with R5 3400G and happy. RAM is 8GB x2 Hyunix DDR4-2800 overclocking to 3200, CPU at stock clocks, Samsung SM961 500GB NVME + 2TB SATA HDD. Rock stable. Upgraded from old Intel i7-3770 for better internal gfx (don't want big PC with separate videocard as I'm not a true gamer), CPU performance also grows a bit. Now start to thinking about CPU upgrade to 5700G :)

It will be interesting to see which processor you install and how it performs. I've had this board for almost exactly 3 1/2 years now, paid £69 for it (nice). Really can't fault it, I've gone through 3 processors on this board, and it's done its job admirably. I had a Ryzen 3600 with 3600 CL16 Ballistix, and it worked flawlessly, I could even clock that RAM up to 3800 with no issues.
