I had many friends who wanted to buy an economy SUV as payments were lower but if you finance, cost of owning a Tesla SUV is sometimes less than an average economy SUV like a RAV4 if you do the math. RAV4 monthly costs, Car payments = $550 Gas to drive around = $200-300 Total = $750-850 Tesla monthly costs, Car payments = $700 Electricity to drive = $20-30 Total = $720-730 Even though Tesla car payments are higher, it’ll cost you less to drive a Tesla every month because of how cheap electricity is compared to gas.
To those of you saying you’d never buy a Tesla because it’s costly, I just want you to know that I switched to a Tesla to save money. Similarly, if I had a gas car, gas would have costed me around: Gas = $25,000 - 30,000 Oil changes = $2500-3000 Brake pads = $4000-8000 In total =$31,500-41,000 Charging has been free for me which is why it costed me nothing to drive around but even if I did pay for electricity to drive 180k kms, it would have costed me $2000-2300 in the last 5 years. Nothing compared to how much gas would have costed. The number one reason I switched to Teslas was to save money

I don’t know if I’ll feel better having a 55 year old car that will kill me if I every get into an accident, break down every couple of kms, leave me stranded in -40C, not drive me when I’m too tired to drive… and much more. Sure have them as classics in your garage but driving them as an everyday car is extremely foolish
@teslapeg 9 months of the year I only drive pre 1980 vehicles. No issues. They're very simple and easy to keep up. I keep the modern junk for winter as I don't care if they rust away, they're very much disposable. That said, tesla has some pretty cool tech
Where did you read that? Older Tesla batteries are still running for 12+ years with some driven over 300k kms already. My personal Tesla bought in 2020 has already driven 150k kms and still has a battery health of 92%
Cost of replacing a battery is the same as cost of replacing an engine on a gas vehicle. But both need to be changed in 10-15 years minimum. Tesla already has a good track record
Not for everyone. Just like every Blackberry user said, “iPhones aren’t for me.” Just a matter of time until every other car on the road is an EV just like every other phone is an iPhone

Lol.
Walk away. Buy an old 70's gasser.
You'll feel so much better

Battery will only last for two years after 72 months of instalment. What is the cost of replacing battery?

Show is your electric bill
No EVs for me.
