  • The lesser 5 animals form from Pak Hok Pai (Tibetan White Crane Kung Fu) was developed with Hung Kuen practitioners. You can see the characteristic Hung breathing techniques that cultivates power. The body is relaxed with dynamic tension that is guided by the breath work thru the torso and released with the fist movements. There are some applications within the set but it is primarily performed to build energy and explosive power.

I watched the video before I read the description, and I was going to say that I thought I saw a Hung influence.

Hi Charles, if you click on the share button above you can copy the link and send to your students. I also have another video that is performed a little slower and no music if you wish. I am thinking of adding some narrative to that video to explain the motions and use for a supplement to teaching the set to my students

Literally only the second time in my life ever seeing this form on video or in person. the other was a recording of a Kung Fu schools demo from Chinatown NYC. And step by step exactly the same. Kudos

Very nice! Great video! Are these 5 animals the same as the 5 animals as seen in shaolin? Or these different? The reason i asked is cuz i love pak hoc pai! And as far as i know, pak hoc uses the crane and the gorilla....

Moe Panetta yes, they are the same five animals: Snake, crane, tiger, dragon and leopard from Sil Lum system. This is the only Pak Hok form that uses these animal metaphors as the form was created from Hung Kuen influence.

@@TWCKungFuCanada thank you for the reply! In the 1970s, pak hoc pai wasn't the the recognition it deserved, other than mike staples how to, i guess this was because much of the focus was on bruce Lee, wing chun, jeet kune do, that said, your videos are truly great, and your instructions are top notch, keep up the good work and God bless...

How is Bak hok pai compare with other white crane styles

Tibetan White Crane is part of the Lion's Roar! roots which also includes Hop Gar and Lama Pai. It is primarily a long fist style and is very different than Shaolin White Crane. This form is a little different than most of the routines in TWC in that it borrows from southern Hung fist in its application.

Always thinking about the moves and not just moving... I fail to understand the other comments here. Pretty obvious why you are at some gym and not an actual dojo of your own.

As expected this dude Enoch Dark doesn't have a single martial art video on his channel, and the closest thing is him moving like a buffoon with some mace for two videos totalling four minutes combined, prancing around in his underwear. AHHH the Dunning/Kreuger effect in full force. You couldn't hold this Canadian Sifu's jockstrap. His form and execution are identical to the performance of the same style in an authentic school teaching Pak Hok in NYC CHinatown, recorded in 1994.

@@deejin25 Why would I? It's a channel I made to share my cemetery photographs and background music. Those videos were made to test the lighting in the room as well as the webcam on this 10 year old mac my mom gave me. Not that it's any of your business yet you've decided to make it your business so you could go on a little rant and make yourself feel better. Which of course makes you no better than me. So now we're both losers. Good job man. I never claimed to be some kind of Kung Fu master BUT this guy DOES. You understand that right

@@deejin25 Then again, what kind of observation can we expect from a guy who can barely open his eyes... I'd also suggest spending less time on TH-cam and more time training. You might not like my moves but at least I'm moving and burning some calories big boy.
