one thing for the scratches.. before you apply the tape around the scratch and put on touch up paint use a 2500 grit sandpaper opposite the scratch to further hide the scratch at its edges. it drastically reduces noticing it . then after you level the touch up paint and let it cure, polish area again and you'll have to get super close and ro even find the scratch you're one of my favorite channels. pro tips for everyone. thank you. keep it up
Chris! Your video was on point! I sprayed my caliper and got overspray on my beautiful black car. I did not know how I was going to get it off. I felt horrible. I searched the web for ways to remove overspray from a car and your video popped up. I followed your steps and started off with the less aggressive option which was alcohol and it did the trick. Keep up the good work bro. You're helping millions of people.
For anyone who is here to actually get help for the vandalized car, I'm super sorry to hear that. Also if anybody reads this - DO what chris said, and test the paint thinner first. I had to use some on my car and the original paint hazed up directly. I was able to save the paint, but i sure wasn´t having a good time seeing my paint get "ruined".

Painting is finished. Re-assembly has started. The Fiero is finally starting to look like a car again! There’s still a bunch more interior work to take care of before this next episode is wrapped up, but it shouldn’t be ~too~ long before the next video will be edited and online. Maybe 2 weeks at most. Hopefully less :) If you can’t wait that long, I do have an Instagram @fingerprintsworkshop where I post frequent updates!
I'm gonna show you how to fix a car that's been shredded with some simple household products that you might have at home and if not can easily find for not too expensive...
It was definitely totaled out, the insurance gave the original owner a check. Someone else bought it and couldn’t/wouldn’t want to fix it, then sold it off to chris on eBay.
This is oddly satisfying. As a kid who started working in my dads body shop 36 yrs ago ( I chose a different career ) I can appreciate the hard work here. Nice job!
Honestly no, this doesn't look like angry actions at all. Paint alone could have looked like random vandalism but mud ? sugar ? If you're angry you're scratching the paint and hitting the panels and windows, not going to the store to buy a rattle can, bring a pack of sugar with you and coldly do weirdly random things that are easily repairable. I'm almost sure this was done on purpose for the video.
I remember when I would watch Chris’s videos when he had about 60k subs haven’t watched any since and came back to see that he is at 6.5 mill. That’s crazy keep it up
Thank you so much my car was so dirty with paint with work in our house you were the first one to pop up when I searched on how to remove paint from my car❤❤
My technique: Use razorblade on the windows, windows are very easy to remove paint from without damage. For the body panels I'd just use a scotch brite pad or some buffing wheel and slowly erode the paint from the panels without hitting the original paint.
A total lie. You are not getting an honest story here. Even the before and after shots are dishonest. There is MAJOR exposure differences in the before and after shots. Look at the ground and anything that is not the car in the before and after shots. Everything around the car is MUCH lighter. The insurance industry is not in business to write off minor damage like this for a total loss. This could have been professionally fixed for $1000.
@@tarstarkusz gasp , you mean to save 1k$ chris employed expensive CGI , movie studio editing and paid actors ? Sneaky ChrisFix , to use those resources to fool us while he is using paid cheap actors (probably joe next door) to fix the car while he reeks the bags of money behind the green screen ...
Chris for those scratches, if you're ever feeling daring you can do what I did when I was 16 and dumb. I used aircraft stripper diluted in gasoline and put a tiny amount on a rag and went over the scratch and the surrounding paint melted into the scratch and once it dried, I waxed it and you couldn't tell it ever existed. I kept the truck for another 3 years after that and the paint never had an issue. I'm guessing I probably just got lucky haha.
Brandon Johnson eh, think I have you beat! 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 with 290,000+ (likely a lot more). Currently has more bare metal spots than there is actual attached paint! I used to work for Copart, driving the Caterpillar to fork cars and also receiving them, which involves cleaning and documenting there condition and run status. This vehicle definitely was a flip for the guy that sold it to you. The markings on the windshield, are absolutely Copart markings. If you enjoy doing the vehicle flipping kind of a gig, I'd really recommend checking them out and seeing what kind of a deal you can get yourself into and what you have to do to be able to purchase through the massive insurance salvage auctions. Hail damage is a major happening that cars get totaled for. Airbags too, if they go off, insurance companies dont even bother. Most of the time. They still sell everyday!
@@marcogomez3128 Somes states you have to have a dealers license or something along those lines. Copart can quite literally be your partner, per se. Especially if you have the funds to invest in the vehicles you commit yourself too, or the means to repair and rejuvenate with your own hands. People walk away with total scrap, literally, burned out to bare metal and charred remains of a vehicle and haul it away to sell for scrap steel/aluminum and such and such. You can try to be the one that knows what to do with the $30k car with moderate front end damage, and start your bid at say, $250 or the set minimum if there is one, and see where it goes.. and seriously just watch it sell for $4k, invest another $4k to potentially get it 100% again, Sell it for $15k or you know, keep it for yourself;)

Hi

Hi
Hi
one thing for the scratches.. before you apply the tape around the scratch and put on touch up paint use a 2500 grit sandpaper opposite the scratch to further hide the scratch at its edges. it drastically reduces noticing it . then after you level the touch up paint and let it cure, polish area again and you'll have to get super close and ro even find the scratch

Just remember, the car works just like it did before and if anyone looks at your car in a weird way, just know that they are making fun of you for something that was illegal, and that aren't worth your time and mind. They're just thinking everything in life will always go their way, even though it won't!
Have a nice day, and good luck with fixing your car!

This wasnt just a random vandalism. This was made with a passion for revenge. Someone cheated.

For the body panels I'd just use a scotch brite pad or some buffing wheel and slowly erode the paint from the panels without hitting the original paint.
Thanks for sharing!

I am eager to see the reverse video tutorial: how to paint a car with spray cans 😂
Stay tuneeeeeeed!
Lol chris is funny
Brandon Johnson eh, think I have you beat! 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 with 290,000+ (likely a lot more). Currently has more bare metal spots than there is actual attached paint! It’s one of the years that was affected by the defective primer. So paint is big issue! Add in a failed hydroboost seal! Gotta major Power steering fluid mess under the hood!

The Detail Geek is in Saskatchewan, Canada. About 2000 miles (3100km) from New Jersey. Thats a long drive in a dirty car.
Thanks for all the tips!
@@chrisfix lmao dont even like cars but this is satisfying to watch
Though about doing that. But i feel like there is too much competition to get a good deal
You can try to be the one that knows what to do with the $30k car with moderate front end damage, and start your bid at say, $250 or the set minimum if there is one, and see where it goes.. and seriously just watch it sell for $4k, invest another $4k to potentially get it 100% again,
Sell it for $15k or you know, keep it for yourself;)
@@marcogomez3128 as far as competition goes it's just like gambling my friend... you gotta be tactful and know the game your playing.
