- Hey guys, welcome back to another vid! I have put together some footage from 3 recent dives with 3 different mates where we hunt for jewfish. We find some pretty epic ground and land some solid jewfish. I hope you guys enjoy the video, feel free to subscribe for more, cheers.

Oh man what an episode! Where to begin.. the footage was amazing and the editing was awesome. Ive been watching your videos for years now and you have come so far. Its also awesome that we were diving not far from you for session #3 as well. My only dive down that ways for the year and what a cracking day it was!

Cheers mate! Jew are so cool to see underwater. Most fish shot in this vid were between 15-25 meters, however we have got a couple quite shallow in 8-10 meters of water.
They are thick in that part of the world Ethan, maybe the best in Australia. Quite rare my ways and we are only around 3 hours north

Thanks mate I’m moving upto the Sunshine Coast in the new year so 2hrs north or south from me will see me in the thick of it! And with a new power live aboard power catamaran I’m hoping to spend some amazing time chasing as many species as I can all the way to the top and then eventually heading all the way round to the west coast after a good time spent on our east coast

New subscriber here nice vids lads I'm looking to get into offshore Spearfishing the reefs I'm on the GC aswell just curious what depths where you at there?and did you do any training prior to spearfishing?
Welcome to the channel 🙏 the depths range from 10-25 meters. In terms of training I do some C02 tables every now and then, gym training and some cardio but the best type of training is diving more 💯

Cheers, it always changes and depends on the conditions and who I am diving with. I rarely have a breathe hold over 1 minute
Why do people take those small bones/jewels out? What do you do with them?
Just a bit of a collectors item I guess, they don’t really have much use

Cheers mate. I never was much of a fan but I have been making sure they’re well bled and then leaving them sit in an ice slurry for 24-48 hours. The meat comes out really white and taste beautiful, me and the fam have been loving them on the plate 👌
Hi I want to learn how to spearfish Jew any tips on what spear is best suited?
Depends on the water visibility, I like my 1200 Rob Allen. They don’t fight too hard compared to something like a kingfish but they do have quite soft flesh so a well place shot is important. Happy hunting 🔥

Occasionally, not that often though. I’m sure they see us more than we see them

What are the jewels?
The jewels are the Jewfish's earbone/otoliths. They can be used to determine the age of the fish. We just like to collect them 👌
