I think a great topic for the podcast would be your dream roster of Capcom vs SNK characters for a third installment. With not only characters from SF and KoF but also other IPs like Megaman or Metal Slug
So both Capcom and SNK have obviously dropped any specific timelines by now, mostly because they'll never tell us that Chun-Li and Mai are in their 40's now. Originally Garou was stated to be 10 years after Real Bout, and without putting exact years I think Fatal Fury - Real Bout - Garou - CotW are roughly equivalent of SF2 - SF4/5 - SF3 - SF6. In both, the characters have now aged noticeably, so it works out. There's some indications, like how Mel and Amy (Ken's and Guile's kids) are shown to be roughly ten-fifteen years older than before, same as Rock. I think Terry and Ken saying that they met 20 years ago is a reference to CvS2/SvC more than any in-game story.
It's difficult to know exactly what Street Fighter's timeline is considering that Capcom constantly recon elements of Street Fighter with new installments. All we know is that Street Fighter 1, Rival Schools, Project Justice, Final Fight (1 & 2), and the Alpha series (2 & 3), take place in the 80s. Street Fighter 2 takes place in the early 90s along with Final Fight 3. We don't know exactly where Street Fighter 3, 4, 5, and 6 takes place. The timeline of Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury on the other hand are officially given by SNK the years of where the games takes. AOF: 1978, AOF2: 1979, AOF3: 1980, Fatal Fury: 1991, Fatal Fury 2: 1992, Fatal Fury 3: 1995, Real Bout Fatal Fury: 1996, Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: 1998 (that game was originally non-canon, but made canon by Oda), Garou: MOTW: 2006, and Fatal Fury: COTW: 2008. Also, Mai is in her 30s.
🤓☝️ The main cast of Fatal Fury was in their early to mid 20s, and with Garou taking place 10 years after that, and CtoW a vague short while later, that makes them in their mid 30s. The cast of Art of Fighting (which takes place 10 years prior to fatal fury) would be in their 40s. the 20 years is definitely a meta joke about CVS.
Like Maxx said ever since those posters, and even before that with the collab games getting ported to modern consoles. Great time to be an SNK & CAPCOM fan. Great vid guys
Max mode quick or no quick and shatter strike are nothing alike drive rush and drive impact if it were you would have heard a lot of references to it. Max mode allows you to perform as many ex moves and supers until the time limit is done quick mode doesn’t make it similar to drive rush at all.
Terry fought Ken in SF6 and Ken will fight Terry in City of the Wolves. Mai will fight Chun-Li in SF6 and Chun-Li will go on to fight Mai in City of the Wolves. We've come full circle.
A good example of a chaos realm is Limbo from Dungeons and Dragons where everything is in constant Flux and people have to actively concentrate in order to impose any semblance of order. As a result there's very few permanent outside of a few monasteries that maintain existence due to the meditation of its residents
Max is right about Darkstalkers. There were multiple chances for the game to show back up and all of those chances had no such revival. The Capcom Fighting Collection released every Darkstalkers game including Arcade Exclusive ones that were never released outside of Japan and there was hardly anyone playing it. Meanwhile Marvel vs Capcom Collection had the most anyone was ever playing in any of Capcom's fighting collections purely because of Marvel vs Capcom 2. Darkstalkers characters have a place in other fighting games but it's own. A real shame. :(
Fatal Fury takes place in the 90s, mostly following the release date of the games (meaning there was a few retcon with the Real Bout games). Mark of the Wolf takes place in the 2000s, with City of the Wolves following a couple of years after that. Capcom more or less completely dropped exact dates and ages by now, SF 6 is just taking place "in the present, but that doesn't mean the character who were canonically stated to be born in the 70s back in SF2 are now pushing 50. Rather, the exact birth years of characters have been dropped. Think of it like Marvel comic times, Spiderman always takes place "now", but Peter isn't born in the 50s, is birth year just move up with the timeline.
Man I just want them to port the PSP version of Darkstalkers. Climbing that shadow tower and unlocking all that stuff was how I used to idle my time away. Only to ex the memory card and make the trip all over again. Just make that one port for me

Love the show, but I have one bit of advice: if at least two out of the three of you haven't played something, you probably shouldn't talk about it. Otherwise, there's no discussion, and it's not very interesting to just hear one guy talk while the other two nod their heads. Yeah, that means that you'll get to some topics later than you might like, but it'd be better to get a more lively and in-depth conversation than a surface-level scrape. Just my two cents. Keep up the great work!
Ken and chunli will definitely get classic costumes. Snk will give em extra attention like Terry and Mai in sf6. It'll be harder to give most of the cast alt costumes since they only been in MOTW so they'll need original designs probably as dlc. Terry with the only alt makes no sense with the amount of energy put in the game

You're betting way too early. that would mean releasing new game less than a year after CotW. Most likely CotW will release, have it's first season of DLC, then they'll anounce something, for a release 2 years and half/3 years after CotW (the pace at which SNK have been bringing back their fighting game since Kof XIV). Capcom is terrified of having more than one fighting game in the Market since SF Tekken, so they won't allow a game with Street Fighter characters before SF6 is in its slowing down phase. And while SNK isn't as paranoid, they (understandably) won't have a game release when CotW isn't even a year old. *And* that's without the possibility of SNK first making the Art of Fighting game they've teased last EVO or Capcom deciding to go with Mahvel first.
8:05 1. it's too expensive of a deal to be anything other than ronaldo himself as a playable character, 2. when it comes to ronaldo's involvement he would not do anything other than being himself
My guess SNK is gonna create a character inspired by Ronaldo's sob story (his dad didn't see him going real big in his football career, and it's kinda similar to a FG character) and make Ronaldo VA the character.
Case in point it would be significantly less expensive (and also less of a licensing nightmare) if it was just him collabing with SnK to promote the game. Alternatively even if they use his likeness, that might just be a character modeled after him rather than literally Ronaldo as a playable character.
Max is misremembering or misattributing the mash-up characters at the end of MK1. Terry not dealing with fireballs very well is also juris main problem, but I feel like the difference is Juri has better neutral. Juris level 2 needs to go through projectiles… I said it…
She technically doesn't, in that you can only select her new look. Her older costume only appears during her level 3 super animation. As of right now, it's not a costume you can select.

@@austinreed7343 Ah sure Arc Sissy Wokes can soooooo totally do the same shite like that they did with Guilty Gear Jive. With character assasination, awful retcons and all.
Weird thing is they made story mode free, and charged 5 bucks for the stage. Stages matter in Tekken, games not tournament legal unless you can randomly select all stages I believe.
If so, I hope it has more IP variety. I'm looking at you, Capcom. The previous two games lacked that. Way too many Street Fighter characters. 😑 It's called "Capcom vs. SNK" for a reason..
When are they gonna add a short hop to a street fighter? So we could get rid of the birds grabbing people 7 times in a row in tournament. And thinking that's cool or hard to do
I think that SNK will develop a new SNK vs CAPCOM 2, and Fatal Fury is actually a test (because the mechanics are very similar to SF6) and CAPCOM will make a new Marvel vs Capcom.

Test the water to see how fan respond. Build up the hype, Opening dialogue between the two companies (remember, the dev always want to make games. They need to get the business people on both sides to agree). Etc.
What they should do is make the definitive fighting game engine, and make it free-to-play. Any developer (Capcom, SNK, Namco etc) can then sell DLC characters for it, paying the developer of the engine a commission for every character sold. They could call it Fighting Omniverse or something. The engine developer has the final say in terms of character balancing.
I'm sad you guys still haven't talked about Iron Saga VS yet despite it being announced a year ago. I know Justin covered it on his channel before but I was hoping it could get some coverage here so more people will know about it. It's a really cool fighting game spinoff to a mecha gacha game. The roster features both licensed anime mecha like Mazinger Z, Getter Robo, and Dancouga, as well as a bunch of really cool original mecha. It has a very similar visual and animation style to the Super Robot Wars games where the character sprites are semi-SD but are beautifully animated and have insane over the top battle animations. There's gonna be a playable demo during the Steam Next Fest this month so hopefully more people will be aware of it.
no snk vs capcom 3 bad mix culture🥵🥶 if capcom goes on with sf6, 4x character a year, it gonna make more time to still play in this core fighting style of sf6. if adding new or existent borrowed or not character become dlc svc5!!!!😵🥴😵💫 zero interrest? no! But... reving ? ? ? not either.
Modern gaming = all the characters you want will be paid DLC, no custom colors (paid DLC) Oh you want P and K grooves? Paid DLC. Not to mention they will dumb down all game mechanics for the "modern audience" I love SNK and Capcom but they will nickel and dime us for everything they can, It will also take a year or longer after release to get the game we should have had from the start. I hate being a negative Nancy but modern gaming is absolute garbage and it won't get better because everyone will continue to buy said garbage.
Alright I'll bite. How is that any different from the old way of buying different versions of games like all the different iterations of SF II to SF IV? King of Fighters used to come out with a new version every year for nearly a decade. For fighting games this practice is nothing new, just the way it is marketed has changed.

1:07:54 no diddy matt, no diddy😅😂🎉❤
Let's go!
I want Jon Talbain with multiple nunchuck moves as DLC in something lol
Terry not dealing with fireballs very well is also juris main problem, but I feel like the difference is Juri has better neutral. Juris level 2 needs to go through projectiles… I said it…
Mai has two outfits in FF - COTW.
She technically doesn't, in that you can only select her new look. Her older costume only appears during her level 3 super animation. As of right now, it's not a costume you can select.
not yet. i'd be willing to bet that she'll get the classic as outfit 2 option, but it has not been confirmed yet.
It felt weird going back to other characters after playing Terry
SNK should do the visuals of CVS3. While the SF6 visually looks amazing, CVS3 would look best in COTW's art style.
Biggest issue with the chaos realm is why does everyone have a Mohawk lol
Big brain time: Capcom partners with Arcsys on a new Darkstalkers game, call it New Blood
Capcom announces Morrigan as dlc in SF6 to promote New Blood like Terry with City of the Wolves
Capcom rebuilds yet another of their old IPs for maximum recognition and popularity right before Marvel 4
Profit
Feels plausible, other than the part where they make a new Darkstalkers. They love to milk this franchise to sell literally anything else.
With Arc Sissy Wokes? Nah after Guilty Gear Jive pandering to the Twitter freaks and destroying what made Guilty Gear. Arc Sissy Wokes is now worthless.
If only.
@@moonwarrior3342
An ArcSys Darkstalkers would be better than a Western-developed one (which is more likely actually)
@@austinreed7343 Ah sure Arc Sissy Wokes can soooooo totally do the same shite like that they did with Guilty Gear Jive.
With character assasination, awful retcons and all.
I love how fascinated max is by the animalities he can't get over how good the animals look lol they do look cool though 😀
Justin looks like he is Terry Bogard son.
100% yes
Weird thing is they made story mode free, and charged 5 bucks for the stage. Stages matter in Tekken, games not tournament legal unless you can randomly select all stages I believe.
WOOHOO!
There's videos on the evolution of Kim Kaphwans pants on youtube.
If so, I hope it has more IP variety. I'm looking at you, Capcom. The previous two games lacked that. Way too many Street Fighter characters. 😑 It's called "Capcom vs. SNK" for a reason..
Obviously not if the Capcom side is so limited...
@@xtoadsannom6704 Final Fight, Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, Star Gladiator, Power Stone, Red Earth... Limited? Sure..
@@VBrancoPT
Cyberbots, too. Plus if SNK insists on putting Fio in… Bon appetit.
@21:31 I hope their will be a non heat/rage mode. Or just remove rage and add it into heat as the level 3 super or something.
Chaos realm was better in Pokemon Platinum, that Giratina stage was wonderful
When are they gonna add a short hop to a street fighter? So we could get rid of the birds grabbing people 7 times in a row in tournament. And thinking that's cool or hard to do
I hope they do an episode where they talk about Mugen
Yes, I remember when the mystery SFV final character was rumored to be an SNK character
People were losing their minds over the possibility
I think that SNK will develop a new SNK vs CAPCOM 2, and Fatal Fury is actually a test (because the mechanics are very similar to SF6) and CAPCOM will make a new Marvel vs Capcom.
But... Darkstalkers 4... *Sad
Shouldn't have simped for Conman and shilling Fightcade when you clowns had the chance.
@@moonwarrior3342
We did get ANOTHER chance with Capcom Fighting Collection.
@@austinreed7343 It wasn't, that was more to see if there was interest with getting old games brought up to modern consoles.
Even in an IGN interview they even said it wasn't made to gain interest for a new Goonstalkers.
@@moonwarrior3342
Yes it was. I’d take a Western-developed Darkstalkers at this point.
Mario Jumpman Mario next season 🤔
I dont care about MK1. Havent seriously enjoyed since MKX, but no stage fatalities in MK1 sounds criminal to me
Justin looks like a kpop star
in KOF All Star made collab with Street Fighter, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive, Virtua Fighter and many more. They just need to make Fighting Game All Star just like Jump Force, but more grounded fighting game
Max pronounces Sektor like Sekter
Ken practically has slowly morphed into Axle Stone
1:07:50 lol
Justin my God please stop with the hair lol
He has to, he's made too many enemies as The Wazzler. Gotta lay low!
I don´t like him being on a fighting game,Ronaldo,i don´t care about football at all...except cups haha,ok ok kinda do XD,but lets be honest,he has nothing to do in a Fighting Game.Capcom vs snk 3 it´s on the way,WAAAAAY too many signs already, the cross over with Snk with Terry, then the ken and chun li,the both capcom vs snk and snk vs capcom, then the marvel 2,i mean COME ON,IT´S ON THE WAY.
If it were happening, why would they want to cross over in sf6 and fatal fury? Wouldn’t the want to save that for cvs3?
Test the water to see how fan respond. Build up the hype, Opening dialogue between the two companies (remember, the dev always want to make games. They need to get the business people on both sides to agree). Etc.
Because they’d want to get crazy with non-fighting characters in CvS3.
@@austinreed7343 that could make sense!
@@ralfvanbogaert3451 What you want is an officially licensed MUGEN build.
Companies need to throw away their egos and make these games.
They didn't fix testament. They put a different character in the game and called them testament 😢
SF6 Darkstalkers DLC characters next season.
What about a MvCvS?
MK v KI
Wonder if a mk character will get into sf6
no snk vs capcom 3 bad mix culture🥵🥶 if capcom goes on with sf6, 4x character a year, it gonna make more time to still play in this core fighting style of sf6. if adding new or existent borrowed or not character become dlc svc5!!!!😵🥴😵💫 zero interrest? no! But... reving ? ? ? not either.
I’d easily pay $15 for just waffle house in tekken 8. I just absolutely love the idea. Or street fighter. It just works.
Personally, I think they're setting up for Capcom x Marvel x SNK, calling it now
Idc about anything in MOTW except that Ken gameplay lol
why would ken play at MOTW?
