I have followed you guys for several years. Your videos are so helpful and educational. I learn something new every time I watch a video. I have had a rough couple of years with my health. I've had severe stomach and health issues. I've tried every diet under the sun and nothing worked. I finally have gotten some answers and I have been diagnosed with Alpha gal, and nut and soy allergies. Being scared to eat at every meal not knowing how my body will react has been extremely hard and has taken a toll on my mental health. I'm so grateful for the new journey ahead of healing physical and mentally. Your videos have helped me not to give up. Most importantly to listen to your own body and focus on self healing. I'm taking baby steps and focusing on just eating a whole foods clean diet. I'm learning what my body can tolerate and learning how to eat and cook again with joy and not fear. So many little things we take advantage of. I'm focusing on getting my strength back and just enjoying life again and not living in fear and depression. I recently added a new boxer puppy to our family. He has forced me to get out of the house, exercise, and just enjoy the sunshine. I just wanted to give you a little of my story. Thank you for the encouragement and keep putting out videos. You truly can change the world with a little act of kindness each day. Your family is beautiful ❤
Hey Teresa, I’m so sorry you’re having to struggle with all of that, but I’m glad you have a new furry friend to boost your spirits! Keep taking the next best step, even if it seems slower than you’d like the process to be, you’ll get there! I believe in you!🫶🏻💚☺️🙏
Thank you so much for the encouragement. My neighbor recently has been diagnosed with alpha gal as well. I have found myself encouraging him and giving him my tips and recipes I have learned. Helping others while in a battle is the best healing ❤@@EatMoveRest
Love these meal prep videos! Do you ever prep lunches for the kiddos? As a stay at home mom I always find lunches to be most difficult when we’re busy. I’d love to have some ideas for prepping lunches ahead of time!
I love meal prep videos especially doable ones like yours. I get in a funk sometimes -planning and preparing b/c I am just tired and don’t feel like it. This gives me the inspo to do it-thank you!
Wonderful tips, thanks so much! I am starting to meal prep. Vegan for 8 years, now want to turn plant based. 🙏 your advice gives ideas and motivation ❤
You already are plant based if you're vegan. Everyone who's vegan is automatically plant based. You can be plant based and not be vegan, but not the other way around.
Outstanding video, keep them coming EatMoveRest family! Do you have a favorite brand for dry beans? I've just started with them and only used lentils (can't go back to canned, love them!). Do you soak at room temperature or refrigerate the soaking? Also, I love your jeans. Maybe we need some clothing tips/brands in the future. xx, Molly
Thanks a bunch! We just make sure to buy organic dry beans, usually in bulk on Amazon! That being said, I really really love the organic ayocote beans from Kandarian Organic Farms. I just let them soak for 24hr with a splash of ACV in a bowl on the countertop! They are legit the best big beans ever…so juicy! I would really love to share clothing sometime as well!!
This so helpfull because even someone like me could actually do this. I gonna implant some of this in my daily routine. Would love more easy peasy examples.💚
Thank you. I need to have a lower Gi since I have receive hypoglycemia so I can’t do big fruit bowls but with nuts, seeds and oils it’s possible. I love tempeh and soy beans! I’m working on improving my gut health.
The broccoli stalks are tasty too. Just trim the outer and steam with florets. The stalk is being studied for cancer fighting properties, sulforophane.
Love your grocery hauls and meal prep videos...well I love all the videos you and Dusty make... Btw where's Beau?.. wishing you all a very happy healthy holiday and new year💜
Thank you! Beau sadly passed away just a couple weeks before Zoe was born in the spring. He was 10 and a half which is a very good long life for a Bernese Mountain Dog!♥️
What are your biggest tips for constipation? I feel like adding in protein powders and more raw greens and vegetables makes me constipated. What have you had any experience with working for constipation?
So I guess my question for you is I have a lot of organic canned chickpeas and I need to utilize them instead of throwing them away. Can I soak them in water with apple cider vinegar and will it help to kind of break them down a little bit? Also, we travel a lot and we don’t always have the option of using a lot of power so would this also work for these situations?
If they’re canned then they don’t require any further soaking. However, if you prefer canned for efficiency, eating canned over none is still great (fiber, protein, iron, etc). Try to buy canned that contain kombu (seaweed) instead of added salt, as it also helps with digestion!!
Love beautiful, purple sweet potatoes!! 🍠 Also I call “red” (who named them? 😆) onions purple, because they are!! Ha. Eat almost daily. Also, just bought (have had many times!) tri-color bags of organic carrots 🥕 at Trader Joe’s. Those are gorgeous too! Purple and like orange/yellow inside. (With yellow and orange ones)The colors of fruits and veggies never fail to make me feel good and smile. God’s creation!! Amazing. 💜
I like the meal prep video. However, my husband isn't very creative and would not put a bowl together for his lunches. He leaves very early for work and always needs 5 lunches each week at work. I used to have the same needs but I switched careers and have the ability to make lunches at home now. So since going WFPB in 2020, my practice is to cook on weekends, Mondays and Tuesdays, doubling or tripling the recipe to have "planned-overs." He can put planned overs in containers over the course of 4 days of meals, and he has 5 days of "fast food" lunches. Sometimes, I cook only 3 days a week. The idea of your meal prep technique is nice. It would be like learning a different way of prepping and assembling for us.
Doesn't the ACV added to the chickpeas make them tough? I always heard you shouldn't cook beans with acidic ingredients because that will prevent them softening.
@EatMoveRest yes, I understand that, but they're still soaking in an acidic liquid for ~24 hours. I guess I was trying to ask if you've noticed that soaking with ACV makes the chickpeas tougher/crunchier compared to soaking without.
You soak them for 24 hours even though you preassure cook them? I thought one of the reasons for preassure cooking beans is so you don't have to soak them. I never soak mine at all and nothing bad happens after I eat them. I never rinse my beans, quinoa, or any other grains or legumes either.

I'm not a big fan of meal prepping. I never meal prep at all. If I had to bring food with me somewhere, it would probably just be fruit, bread, or plain cooked potatoes.

I think she is meaning she wants to get away from vegan processed foods and more to whole plant foods.
More food recipes please ❤

@EatMoveRest awww sorry to hear about beau,s passing.. wishing you all a happy healthy Christmas and new year❤️❤️❤️
quick question: when you sautéed the tempeh, was that oil in the pan or were your "water sautéing"? Thanks
Just water!
@@EatMoveRest Awesome (I figured, but wanted to be sure) and THANKS for such a quick response.
What was in the pan when you put the tempeh in? Just water?
Yes!

Thanks for sharing what you’ve been doing…I like the term “planned-overs!”🙌
How much water do you put in with the beans?
Just enough to cover them with an inch or so of water!
Dang this is a good one
Doesn't the ACV added to the chickpeas make them tough? I always heard you shouldn't cook beans with acidic ingredients because that will prevent them softening.
You soak them in ACV and then drain and rinse before cooking
@EatMoveRest yes, I understand that, but they're still soaking in an acidic liquid for ~24 hours. I guess I was trying to ask if you've noticed that soaking with ACV makes the chickpeas tougher/crunchier compared to soaking without.
I haven’t noticed that!
Peel the broccoli stems/trunks and steam them too!! 😯
Hey love do u meal prep for others? I stay in Houston
Tempeh looks like an old peanut caramel candy I used to eat when I was younger🤣 I can't bring myself to eat it

I would add some salt and pepper to taste.
For sure, always!
I love this video!!
Up front, as one who has ‘no’ space for insta pot and such- Could you Please give a ‘dinosaur’ a hint as to cooking the chickpeas on a “Stove” 😳😜
After soaking just drain and rinse and simmer on a stovetop on low for about two hours!
❤
