It actually is called the “Spallow.” Mark Simmons, an English translator working for Sunrise, claimed that Sunrise specifically requested it be translated that way to include the word “spall,” which is a word for pieces of metal sheared off of objects from high impact collisions. In that case, maybe the appropriate pronunciation should be “SPAWL-oh.”
That polycap on the shoulder is hor-ren-dous over time it gets loose af thats why they redid the shoulders of the age 2 magnum from the original age 2 normal because it gets so floppy it cant even raise its arms
Funny enough the same thing happen to mine after a minor earthquake happen and my age 1 fell off the spoiler broke in half lucky for me so I just need some cement glue but yeah the most fragile thing on the age 1 is defiantly the spoiler

The thing in the knee is the "Stilleto" which shoots out little needle thingies as a mid range weapon. The Age-1 is a far superior kit even though this was the "upgraded version". The Age-1 Titan was the heavy hitter. The Age-1 Spallow was the speedy infantry. The gimmick about the Age design was that the spoiler on the backpack would collect battle data and build parts to overcome difficult battle scenarios.
Then again, I am the kind of person who has boxes of spares and accessories because I never build them for my kits, so something like this is right up my alley haha

Fun fact: Gundam AGE 1 Normal can switching its limbs named "wear parts" to accomodate many kind of mission, like Spallow for high speed, high mobility and stealth, or Titus as melee specializing form. That's why all MG AGE 1 torso are the same, because you can take its limbs, side skirt and lower parts from front-back skirt for switching to other forms.
Love the Age kits, been trying my best to find the elusive Clanche for awhile. Age itself is fine, it may seem "childish" at first but beneath that is a strong theme of vengeance that is carried out throughout the series and how it affects the past and future generations. Its strength (and also biggest weakness) is characters, including one of the best Char clones, and I honestly think it should not deserve its infamous reputation, especially when all the problems lied in the third arc. Unfortunately, the series never did well enough to warrant more kits, despite their solid qualities. If you like the Age form changes on the fly to suit whatever situations needed, the Age already got it beat with its bazillion different (unreleased) forms.
I love this design too, really cool! Shame the Spallow seems to be left off the HG and MG Age kit reprint lists for 2020-21. It's pretty expensive when you find one regardless of the scale

Sometimes it feels Master Grades are more like 1/100th scale High Grades at times. I guess inner frame most times equals Master Grade in Bandai's eyes with many of these Master Grades still including so many stickers?
I'd say the difference there is that HG stickers are for color correction, whereas on MGs they're for markings and whatnot. Really, they should all be waterslides, especially considering how other Bandai lines like Star Wars all get waterslides, and even Warhammer, meanwhile gunpla get terrible stickers that only ever look passable on white...
@@TheKrowSama Only the main characters; every side characters developpement was rushed because they tried to stuff MSG, Z and ZZ into one anime. The animation and soundtrack were great though.

Unfortunately the spoiler exploded on mine after it took a nasty dive off my shelf during an earthquake a couple years ago.

the chest hatch also has a fitted slot to put the standing figure, if you wanted to display the pilot standing on it

I just painted the HG Spallow a few weeks ago and it looks fantastic. Love the athletic design. I will have to work on this MG next.

If you can get the hands together yeah. You can also remove one or both of the knuckles if you needed them closer.

I've been interested in this one for a while now as it's a very nice looking design, and I VERY much enjoyed the MG AGE-2 kits I've built

This one is my favourite out of all of age-1's forms. The slim proportions make it look almost human, and i like the more unified colours.
