@the bronze james "it's not rare" my brother in Christ I thought the Char's gelgoog was the only 2.0 gelgoog because it's the only one I have ever seen and to this day I still haven't seen one at any of my stores in Canada
@the bronze james even online it's hard to come by, and if it is in stock it's usually marked up and in another country so shipping would cost me too much
Yea I feel like if this ms took a beam saber slice to the chest, it would DEFINITELY explode!! Also, I’m really digging this progress. The gelgoog has such a cool innerframe that otherwise is never even seen, unfortunately.
to me, a good weathered build should not only show the modelers skill and technique in model making but also, often often overlooked, the ability of the modeler to tell a story through their models. good pointers you have mentioned are the difference in a weathered space variant to a ground variant. as a grunt/ground variant enthusiast, i employ a little more weathering on my kits legs and knees and more subtle one the hand and forearms. i've never done space types as in space, to me, metals dont rust. although, there is a bit of a debate if gundarium even ever rusts. cheers!
I bought an electric nail file kit that’s adjustable. That works great cause you can lower the speed down a lot and make some really good scuffs on the armor with out having to melt the plastic.
I use the tamiya plastic drill it's got a low enough speed not to melt the plastic and can either drill clean holes or with a different attachment do damage work ( Dremel bits fit the collets )
It's such a small thing, but I think this might be the first time I see someone using plastic cement to flatten down stress marks... and I'm kicking myself for having never thought of it. That's a great building tip, thanks! It will go a long way in preventing panel lining from getting trapped in the wrong places, too.
fun tip,i have found that you can instead of using a gundam marker to "hide" the nub,you can use coloured pencils but be careful not to scratch the plastic
the idea behind zimmeritt was that its a coating to interfere with magnetic mines and stop them from sticking to tanks, so you'd probably want more complete coverage on the feet ankles if you want to depict a fresh coat, but historically it appears to break and fall off around damage, the bigger the shot causing the damage the more exagerated the chunk of coating blown off
Just a quick tip from an atmor modeler. You can add chipping to your zimmerit aswell. Makes it look less like putty put on plastc. The nightshift modeler has a great video on zimmerit :)
It's a thing of preference. Sometimes a little scratch here and there or some weathering makes the kit have a lot of more personality. But i can't deny that a clean and Shiny MS looks hella good too. Lmao.
Someone probably mentioned it already, but it's worth experimenting with different amounts of each part for two-part epoxy. Often putting in a little more of one part makes it harder and more brittle, while the other makes it softer and more flexible.
you are supposed to wear gloves with two part epoxy, like you said, and it might be carcinogenic but its not like your fingers will rot off or something. Thats actually not why though, you should wear gloves so the putty doesn't stick to your fingers. Also wet your tools and your fingers via a little dish of water when working with putty just so it doesn't stick to you or your tools
I was definitely keeping thunderbolt in mind as a sort of reference! Even though that was in space, I think it really nicely demonstrated how mobile suits take damage in UC
Super cool. I think I am going to convert my old Dom into a battle damaged suit (I have the new 1.5 to represent my clean kit). Possibly even make a destroyed Dom and GM display. 🤔
Quick, he’s giving ideas and tips for the AoZ competition! The beam slash to the shield would be with enough force, that there could be splatters of ash or molten debris near the slash around the shield, I guess. Like when you use a plasma cutting or welding tool
i had no idea the MG UC 2.0s inner frame look that good???? i definitely need to pick one of them up and paint the inner frame in a 2 tone metallic finish any recommendations?
they really gotta print the mass production gelgoog again. the char one is cool but this has one of the most realistic military esque colorschemes in the entire franchise wonderfully muted yet perfect looking
Really nice work with the soldering iron. I have a Dremel but that's it. I assume a soldering kit is pretty affordable. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Hi I'm inspired to use soldering iron on a kit soon 😊 Given weathering is generlaly done after coating, should I do the soldering iron damage before or after matte coating?
I need help! Do I add the char Gelgoog 2.0 MG or the RG hi nu gundam to my backlog! Honestly torn as love the look of both kits and like MG and RG the same. Here in the UK kits aren't as easy to come by and are expensive so can only get one!
Short blade is the way to go! This is the USA Gundam Store branded knife. It’s great! I also recommend the Tamiya Hobby knife as another option but check them both out
We need Bandai to reprint the normal MG gelgoog 2.0, same with the MS-06F zaku which is the space variant of the zaku the normal MG zaku that’s reissued the most is the MS-06J which is the ground version
It mainly depends on the kit and how much masking you want to do plus if you have a airbrush already, I normally prime with cans then airbrush other colours but it's normally a personal choice and what you have at hand
The noise you made using your very cheap ko Dremel brought me out of the deep depression your last very unfartworthy video left me in. For awhile I was seriously thinking of unsubscribing from your channel and giving up on most modern Gundam kits. And sticking to ez-8 and some Gundam universe stuff I hope will be released like the Gera Zulu and full armor rx-7😛
Bro just casually pulls out the mass production gelgoog mg like its nothing
Lol I had to do a double take, thought I read it as ‘bro just casually mass produces gelgoog’ like whaaa?
@the bronze james its not been reprinted, and its rare enough to charge alot to buy.
@the bronze james "it's not rare" my brother in Christ I thought the Char's gelgoog was the only 2.0 gelgoog because it's the only one I have ever seen and to this day I still haven't seen one at any of my stores in Canada

Man you are lucky to have that MG Gelgoog Mass production type. PLS BANDAI REPRINT THEM
Yeah been looking for this like crazy
I have one in my storage unit I forgot I had lol 😊
Yea I feel like if this ms took a beam saber slice to the chest, it would DEFINITELY explode!! Also, I’m really digging this progress. The gelgoog has such a cool innerframe that otherwise is never even seen, unfortunately.
Nothing sexier than a 2.0 MG Gelgoog
Basically any zeon 2.0 inner frame of the mg line looks the best

Maaaaaan… I really want the Mass Production Gelgoog.
I bought an electric nail file kit that’s adjustable. That works great cause you can lower the speed down a lot and make some really good scuffs on the armor with out having to melt the plastic.
Not too surprising that a lot of nail tools can be useful for plamo as well! 👍
I use the tamiya plastic drill it's got a low enough speed not to melt the plastic and can either drill clean holes or with a different attachment do damage work ( Dremel bits fit the collets )

this is my favorite kind of content from this channel.
Thanks!
Love your custom vids! The more minor modifications vs a complete overhaul of the kit is also great!
this is looking so good so far, zaku type mobile suits really do fit the damaged after battle aesthetic.
Definitely perfect for what I’d like to do with the hobby! Can’t wait to see pt 2!
I've done some of these techniques on gunpla myself. Great to see one of the 'names' promoting the ways to the gunpla community.
Best reference for explosion and bullet holes are WW2 tanks. Reddit has a tons of photos.
I always love seeing videos like these
fun tip,i have found that you can instead of using a gundam marker to "hide" the nub,you can use coloured pencils but be careful not to scratch the plastic
I would have never thought about using the liquid cement to get rid of the white marks on a kit, that’s so cool, I’m going to give that a try

I always liked the build videos most! Very cool update.
Great video! Enjoyed listening to the thought process

That's a great idea! Thanks!
The painting is what will really sale the damage effects.
A hobby knife works well for doing chipping and small bullet effects.
That's really cool and can't wait for the next part. Also I have a Sazabi that's watching me and it looks like a bit too pristine ahaha!
I don't prefer weathered/damage builds, but your WIPs are always awesome to watch man.
It's a thing of preference.

Really tasteful weathering and damage! Looks like something out of Gundam Thunderbolt with the battle damage and all.

The MG char gelgoog is the only char variant I don't have ( not including his other aliases) my first Pg was his zaku ii
@@666styxxx666 Same, never really like Char's colour scheme for the Gelgoog; the pink is simply too dominant for my taste.
battle scars of life Gelgoog!
Really nice work with the soldering iron. I have a Dremel but that's it. I assume a soldering kit is pretty affordable. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Yeah this soldering iron was like $10-15 or so on Amazon? And it comes with 5 different bits for the end with different shapes! 👍
Most hardware stores have pretty cheap soldering irons I've got a few over the years ( 🤭 mainly gifts thinking I don't have any)
Where do you get these books

I'll use a military model kit kind of approach to this because zeon is just like second world war germany,so a tank armour/mobile suit theme can work
A little late but for the damaged leg you should give the inside a mesh texture. I noticed it on Cucuruz Doan’s p Bandai Zaku.
That backpack is the leftover jagd doga backpack from the hg vertex isn't it?
What is the name of the dough you used in the video?

How is the last part called, the one you did with putty @ZakuAurelius? I didn't catch that but it looks interesting!
Okay found it, it's called Zimmerit

As long as it gets the job done, even non dremel brand can perform the same, just depend how detail you want you kit to be,same to apply on hobby tools
Man you are lucky to have that MG Gelgoog Mass production type. PLS BANDAI REPRINT THEM
That and honestly would love to get a couple the the variants of the 1.0 after seeing all the cool builds in the recent Gelgoog mook review
Really weird that the Gelgoog is one of the few suits where the custom versions used by aces are easier to come by than the standard one.
