Herald of Finality - Destiny 2 OST Mix

- This is a mix based on the music script for the second encounter of the Salvation's Edge raid. The track used is Herald of Finality. I took a liberty to cut out some of the fluff that the high action would've been in had I kept it EXACTLY like the script, so instead I just kept it whole. It's pretty much how it would've gone anyway just without repeats.
0:00 Intro
4:51 DPS 1
5:46 Action
8:12 DPS 2
9:07 High Action

No, it's not Taniks. If you want to get really technical, it's a Berserker from Scourge with Dread armor.
In my heart it’s taniks ok?
my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined…
That's actually really cool. I never noticed the similarities in their shoulder armor before
nuh uh
@@Queeroh_Qyohwell in MY heart it’s chelchis because fighting the taken kell of kells of objectivity the coolest headcannon
I always like the fact any fallen-esc boss theme on this channel will have the Boss staring daggers at us while the biggest banger plays
I have yet to meet an Eliksni boss that doesn't have a fuckin BANGER of a theme (at least of the ones I've seen, I haven't been able to play all the old D2 raids)
- Aksis, Archon Prime
- Captain Avarokk, the Covetous
- Eramis, the Shipstealer
- The Herald of Finality
- Praksis, the Defiled (formerly Eliksni, now Scorn)
- Taniks (D1, both Deep Stone iterations)
_Arbitrary "Eramis isn't a disciple" comment_
@@Azrael_EquinoxAh, I thought she was lol, I'll fix it
Regardless who this taken used to be, I would love to learn why it was so important that it stands as the only other boss in the most important raid in Destiny. What makes it so special that the WITNESS dubbed it as the Herald of Finality
Rhulk had a random scorn - Caretaker of Worms
Nezarec had a random Cabal in his crib looking for Cabal Planets
@@roberttheronin9803 you’re undercutting at least caretaker’s importance. It was the first scorn abomination that had been successfully integrated with a hive worm. Zo’aurc was a confidant of the witness that was entrusted with studying the planets collected by the Witness. Herald is literally just a dread-ified taken Kell. It just feels out of place
An Elsikni with Dread markings Half Taken [in order to command Taken forces more accurately ie Sloan] Either the Herald of Finality is above Disciple or is one. I have a theory this is Chelchis Kell of Stone persuaded by the Witness after the Traveler left Riis
@@mrtoad6870I know Byf suggested the possibility that the Herald of Finality could be a disciple, specifically the one who wielded Winterbite. It's just speculation, but it's a cool idea
That being said though it's not anything like "Insert Name, Disciple of the Witness." I wanna know what position it holds, why it's a semi-taken semi-Dread high-ranking Eliksni
There have been theories that this boss is supposed to be Chelchis (is that how you spell it?), Kell of House Stone. For quick context, when the Whirlwind (Eliksni's Collapse) happened, Chelchis was the kell who stood their ground againt the Hive and Black Fleet, in a legendary battle.
Now of course they were defeated, but I wouldn't be surprised if Oryx at the time took Chelchis, and was just a taken enemy that never really saw any action/did see action but survived.
I still haven't done the raid yet, but from some clips I saw, it appears that the possibility is there, since usually taken who exist for extended amount if time usually mutate with a redish/maroon color, or a opaque blue; however, it could be argued that some noticed that the "armor" looks to be of Dread design.
Anyways, a plausible theory, especially since being the "Herald of Finality" and Chelchis's having their last stand on Riis.
And no, this isn't a taken Taniks.
Counterpoint: it's Taniks because I want it to be.
It's a cool theory, but it's got a ton of holes. The maroon colour on Taken doesn't seem to be time-based either, given that Primus Ta'aun and Baxx the Gravekeeper sported that same colour after being taken, and we literally WATCHED them get taken. The colour mutations seem more power based than time based, though Forsaken also points to the colourations having something to do with how much will a being has left after being taken.
There's no indication in the raid that points to who this Eliksni once was, unfortunately. I hope it is Chelchis though, just because that would be really cool :P
Yeah, it's definitely not Taniks, especially given how we literally have his Exo body's head stored in a room on Europa
The helmet designs are completely different here, Taniks didn't have the long, protruding side pieces on the helmet
I think it would make sense. Every civilization that the traveler visits and the witness conquers, it anoints a disciple. We saw this with Rhulk, Nezarec, and even humanity (Mara Sov was originally offered the position of disciple by the witness before it offered it to us). The only hole with this would be Calus, but I feel like Calus was made as a disciple out of convenience, a pawn used to link with the veil and nothing more. We know that the Eliksni were visited by the traveler, and oryx and the black fleet caused the whirlwind, but we've never seen a disciple.
Those violin strings are godly and oppressive as all hell its so cooolllll!!!!!!
The Attendants were the real bosses in this encounter.
Trying to hop on your plate to do the mechanic when suddenly _Duskfield Jumpscare_
The way his gun sounds when it fires, the fact that he throws 5 darkness blasts at a time. They really made him feel like a new boss even when its a reskinned taken captain
The best boss theme
"The Herald summons _____________ to battle....."
*BOXING BELL RINGING*
"The Herald celebrates your failure."
burned into my brain after day 1
I love this encounter's soundtrack so muuuch
By god, its taniks, IN A STEEL CHAIR
Actually a really great song, probably my favourite out of the dlc especially this mix of it.
Harold
He reminds me of our first boss fight the captain fallen who we kill when we first rise
thank you for posting this! amazing song
BRO I WAS WAITING FOR THIS THANK YOU SO MUUUUCH
Best boss music in the game. Love the strings most.
Cant wait to see the next 2 boss themes to be added here are the updated D2 versions of Vosik and Aksis (i'm just coping)
Taniks is just like Goro Majima from Yakuza.
GUARDIAN-SAMA
(Pulls out a shank after appearing out of nowhere)
This one bops
Like no shot my favorite track of the raid
I hope you do a mix between stronger together and make your own fate. Would be fucking rad
If we were gonna have a reskin boss, he could’ve had cool backstory like being Chelchis or something. I would’ve taken a weird permutation of a dread enemy, like a giant Grim with legs.
I think the current theory is that this is Chelchis
@@platinumclaw I thought so too but when I asked in other places I got a flood of people telling me he wasn’t.
@@84m30there's no evidence for or against really, there's basically no lore on this guy at all. Probably similar to Morgeth in Last Wish in that it's just some guy guarding the way forward
Well you gotta remember the Dread most likely weren't planned and were made during the delay. Most of the Raid was probably already done by the time the delay was announced.
@@rowplatts the fact that this boss is a total no-name tells me that The Guardian really had bested basically everything the witness had, so it had to panic and dig into the Taken stockpile and just find the toughest Fallen in there and juice it up with new Dread armor as a last-ditch effort to stall for enough time to finish the final shape.
HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON OLD MAN?!
hey. it's not taniks as much as we want it to be. That is Harold.
Taniks really never learns huh? Rumor has it he's already set sail collecting the echoes of the Witness
@@ATK. he's gonna collect all the dragon balls- I mean echoes and wish for immortality.
I love young people.
I always thought calus’s role was to be the herald of finality but whatever, music still cooks and a sick raid
He is the Herald of the Witness. Not finallity
TANIKS WITH A STEEL CHAIR
I am here to politely request a mix of the 3rd Encounter from Salvation's Edge (Repository) please 🙏
If you want me now, it’s called Metacarpus in the soundtrack.
@@izshen Thanks for this, the only issue is with the soundtrack version it hasn't got the chanting that is present in the game :(
Paniks
If i recall correctly, Red Taken are like, super super fucking old
Which means this is not Taniks, but it could very well be Chelchis
Color isn't strictly a representation of age. Its also will.
@@mcswisscheese3031This, plus it also looks more like Tormentor/Dread texturing, which makes me even more curious about it. I really wish they'd give us more lore about the Herald of Finality
I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS.
THAT IS MFING TANIKS.
Next is Taniks, Beyond the End
Taniks, The Final Shape.
@@ocu5850 Tanikss, the Final God of Shape
Taniks, with a Steel Chair
Does anyone know the name of the song used in the 1st encounter of the raid?
It's called "Precipice"
@@joshnash-awanyo7499 THANK YOU SO MUCH
Taniks or not, WHO IS IT? And why is it a raid boss in the last DLC of the Light vs Dark Saga?
You can't just throw some random Fallen Captain in the raid of the WITNESS without any knowledge of How it came to acquire this form and or power. Unless there's some lore i'm missing, then i'll do diligent research.
This dude beat my ass, took us 14 hours to kill him.
tyty
also herald > witness
Are you doing a mix for unmade too?
Breshi did one last week. th-cam.com/video/yaz_4dC0a-w/w-d-xo.html
@@lorcan0coh I mean one that has a similar part like 1:30 onwards like an under layer but for unmade
How ironic. Destiny 1 ended its fight with a big fallen boss. And now D2 ends its fight with a big fallen being the second to last boss.
