I'm sure he's going to dip it again and get everything else that's why he doesn't waist to much time in one spot or the rest of it will be harder to remove
Probably a southwest USA car. But idk what country this is in. Only surface rust. Trust me, if you plan on buying a used car, make sure you go to AZ or south CA to get it. Surface rust only, the rest is solid steel
Restoring an old classic from scratch is the most painstaking and tedious and frustrating project you could ever imagine. I did a couple when I was young but never again. Sometimes these cars become lifetime projects that never get done.
'Heart as big as a football' as a well known UK classic car trader says. Some love it and get more out of restoring than driving them. I hate bodywork, I'm no good at it. I'm now too lazy to even polish my plastic headlights, let alone taking cylinder heads off. Not so bad once you've started, it's just getting started...
We use nozzles like this for hydrovac excavation at work. That high pressure spinning nozzle can pierce your skin and I got thumped in the ballsack once. It's was not enjoyable.

Had a stressful busy day and was filling out end of day inspection and turned this on and ended up watching it probably a dozen times over and over and realized how relaxing it was. Thanks. Almost went over 14 hour clock though staring at this and not finishing inspection and logging out. Why did you let yourself go onto violation? Oh theres this great video.....
Just wondering.....after its been pressure washed and theres still paint etc on the body thats not been removed, does it go back in for a 2nd dip to get everything off, or can you only dip the body once???
Additive chemichals in the water. A home trick for freshly paintstripped steel is a wash with 50/50 water and lemon juice- gives the steel a green tinge but wont flash rust. Once it has coated the steel thoroughly you can rinse with clean water so its not sticky!
That's the problem with this method. All the areas you can't see in-between joints etc will turn into rust infestations in no time. Body should be immediately washed, rinsed and the whole thing immersed in a bath of suitable corrosion inhibitor as did the auto and steel manufactures of the day.
@@rossbrumby1957wait so you wash it with the 50/50 mix let it dry for a few days then wash it and the barrier remains?so it's a reaction with the acid in the lemon juice creating a permanent film type thing is that what's happening
Washing away all the value. Restored patina paint is so amazing. I saw a basic 57 Chevy sold for $140k U.S. because it had restored patina paint. It takes nature decades to create that, and half a day for some idiot to destroy it.
How did you get the paint to come off so easily? I am about to strip my C10 and I have used a 4k psi with a turbo Nozzle in the last and didn't get these kind of results
it’s always pleasant to see the chemical and physical process powerfull effect. But I am scarred about the consequences on environment. Chemical solvants have the reputation of being carcinogenic….
I was waiting for the lumps of filler, chicken wire and wads of newspaper to fall out of the sills, but apparently this isn't a British market MkII Jaguar! 🇬🇧 It looks in great condition. 👍 Is this in the US? 🇺🇸

A Jag that isn't eaten away with rust is a minor miracle.
this comment hurts me because i had a jag that died from exactly that....

was gonna say if that was my Alfa, wouldn't be much left
I’m sure the acid wash got a lot of the rust

There's an additive you can put in the jet washer to prevent the oxide reaction for a while.

Working thoroughly instead of quickly saves a lot of time and effort later on.

The running paint reminds me of the scene where that dude's face melted in Raiders of the lost Ark
Could be because jaguar started out as SS cars. Ever hear of an SS100? Before they were SS cars they were Swallow Sidecars.
Yes, then came Raiders of the lost Ark with all the Nazis and they changed the Factorys Name to Jaguar😊

fascinating, is this a way to inspect for rusting before a repaint or is that just an unintended consequence of pressure washing the paint off?
They dipped it in a chemical bath with steel shot balls that remove rust.
Paint stripper before or paint remover, chemical components
Does the water with paint and whatever left over chemicals get processed or just down the drain? or into the ground?
Depends on what country your in.
This is what I needed to end wasting time on my phone and go get a good sleep. Well done sir!

What kind of chemical dip did you use?
Was the car red....also for polish finish what would you use first ..
and then it starts to rust again. would be better to do this after body-repairs completed and car can go straight to paint
