Wow! Experiencing these giants of jazz again has made my day.
Monk. ❤❤❤
A few of my heroes playing together. Goosebumps still, over 52 years later.
Their ability of dynamic control, very contrasting dynamic yet still super groovy and smooth, is terrific!
Some beautiful music here. Thanks for preserving & sharing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

You did god’s work. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Man oh man! This is the real deal.
The greatest time of jazz!
Terrific, excellent music, thanks so much !!!
That percussion revive my soul
Monk didn't just write jazz standards; he was THE standard.
God, that tempo in 'A Night in Tunisia'. Incredible.
Terrific. Monk is lovely to hear; personal distress shows in his face. I understand there’s a recording of this combo recorded two weeks later in London.
They were snapping on the percussion
What a gem thank you
Boa sorte.
Muito bom
holy holy
Al McKibbon - jazz double bassist
This is the tour Al McKibbon and Art Blakey said Thelonious Monk only spoke a few words to them the whole time. Later he wrote the reason why he didn't hardly speak was that he was surprised to see how ugly they were. Wow.
😂 🤦🤷😂😂

What was wrong with monk here?
This must be Thelonious Monk toward the end of his career. He plays as usual but a little subdued
He was on a high dose of Thorazine. Same thing with Nina Simmone.
Monk is playing great, but looks unwell. It's troubling. I know this was near the end, not of his life, but of his playing in public.
