She tells him she "can't video chat because her phone is old and crappy". Immediately sends him a selfie with her holding a giant smart phone with two camera lenses. Absolute genius of a guy.
He wants the fantasy of being with a much younger woman who works in the industry. For the money he has sent so far, he could have paid per play on numerous such women! What a fool! He wants the illusion that it’s some form of a real relationship. He needs to wake up.
It's cheaper to go to a strip club and at least be in physical proximity of pretty women. Or pay for an escort and at least get sex for his money. Or he can pay for a live chat with some cam model on her own site who he can at least see live on video and she will do whatever he pays for. With all of those, he's at least getting something for his money - real live interaction with a real person. And it would still be cheaper. He could be at a strip club helping some young woman "pay for medical school" if he wants to help people
OMG I’m glad someone else noticed! Waaaaay too much description of her physical appearance to not be creepy. I wanna hear his detailed physical description of the guy he is ACTUALLY talking to! Haha
Absolutely and even faced with the truth of her deception he stayed in contact and still gave her money. It’s what she’s providing to him. A thrill to his mundane life. A story to tell. Perhaps being captain save a ho is enough for him.
These people are like hoarders. They can’t see the problem, but somebody comes in to clean it up for them, and as soon as the cleaners leave, they go back to hoarding.
As an independent woman, TOTALLY agree! They all say how intelligent they are but...... really? I think they are overestimating their brain capacity! As a single woman, who is fairly wealthy, I get so many scam attempts, that I report, or block.....so ummm, no sorry, you are not that bright sorry. Alternatively, you want to believe the fantasy, so disregard common sense, or, you are just happy to pay for emotional prostitution. Either way, you are simply not that smart sorry. Another hot tip.....if they are young, beautiful, buff, wealthy and are looking to fall in love with a wrinkly old man/woman....it is too good to be true! We all know the dating pool we can get, so anything else is just lying to yourself.
I see all these obvious fake accounts on Facebook all the time and the retarded commentators seemingly can't figure it out. That gives me a confidence boost at least. If you fall for a romance scam you're an idiot. The red flags are right in front of you and "loneliness" is no excuse. Not being able to do a video call is always a huge red flag but people are retarded. And I know it's possible to fake video calls but anyone with half a brain would figure out the video isn't legit.
@@JaimeMesChiens we know. But this is the telltale sign when all their photos look great but they tell you they have a “crappy” phone. Which nobody that’s relatively young has a phone that crappy. Especially the ones with really professional photos.

When a younger person, way out of your league, contacts you online, they are almost certainly a scammer. As soon as they ask for money, they are definitely a scammer. How delusional do you have to be to keep sending money to these people? Is it an addiction?
I mean it must be addiction for him even after he found out the person wasn't real and as they was telling him about the person they're dealing with that has over multiple different accounts he still didn't want to come to realization that she was not real I mean look at his back story I had a problem with girls in college I had problems with girls high school I have problems with a wife who was mentally and physically abusive to me and was really abusive to me sexually I mean this guy acting like what he expected he's going to get some snow white that walks through the door and that's going to sit there and treat him like some kind of king he needs professional help
I have a feeling it may be, in part, the sunken cost fallacy. It's like a gambler who won't leave a slot machine after hours of dropping money into it with no return because eventually it has to pay off. Problem is, even when a payoff occurs, it's far too little compared to what has already been put into the machine, but it's enough to keep the gambler on the hook to keep playing for that big payoff that's "certainly about to hit."

The fact that he compliments her teeth ... he sounds more like a farmer judging livestock at a county fair than a guy describing his beloved girlfriend.
He likes being scammed. He lives in a fairytale world. He needs counseling. In the face of the truth he still chooses to send money. If he doesn’t get psychological help, he will continue be scammed.
He seems really sweet and nice. Unfortunately he’s also very lonely and gullible which makes him prime bait for scammers. He’s also looking at women far out of his league looks wise, which also sets people up. Dude, it’s a Nigerian man. I feel bad but damn. You have to stop and smell the coffee.
It’s his drug of choice. The rush he gets from hearing what he wants to hear is worth paying whatever he’s paying to these scammers. Almost like those old 1-900 numbers where you paid by the minute and thought you were talking to a Pamela Anderson look alike when really she looked more like your grandmother.
@@eaglewinnings8003 😂 They still run them 900 number ads with the supposed lonely hot chicks. But they won’t call those because they are honest about the upfront costs. I am baffled why he doesn’t just join an onlyfans or go to a strip club. He seems to have a need for the rescue fantasy as well. Hell, I’ll talk to him for $300 a week and actually be appreciative and video chat. Honestly there seems to be a market for these people. They also appear to dislike people in their own looks range, so it’s harder to feel sorry for them. She’s telling him she can’t video chat cause she has an old crappy phone, but sends a mirror selfie showing the latest iPhone What did he think these almost professional photos were being taken on? It had to be very hard for him to convince himself that she was real
im frustrated with this people. if there is no proper video chat, why keep on going? can you tell him that (social catfish), he could have just gotten a homeless one around his area, at least he could see them in person, and maybe he'll get a future with her because of his generosity. would have been better if daniel just let all those money went for a hair transplant. before proceeding to go on an online date, i doubt a hot chick would really check him out at this stage. just being blunt.
I have zero sympathy for Daniel. He was explicitly told NOT to send money online by the FBI. Then what does he do? Send money to scammers online! Deep down, he knows these profiles are fake, but he would rather live in a fantasy where he pretends they are real, even if it means going broke! Wake up Daniel!
If you listen to everything he said about his past dating experiences, he has a heavily distorted concept of reality, with absolutely no self-reflection, in which he was a blameless victim. He probably thinks he's quite a catch, when I can imagine most women running screaming from him because they can spot a narcissist when they see one.
@@peterclarke7240 I think it can be the exact opposite. I think he might be depressed and suffers from low self esteem. He goes after women who are far and disconnected from his life, who are very good looking, and I think it's unintentionally a way to remain safe. Talking to a girl who would never be interested and is obviously way too good looking, as well as live too far away anyway, is a way to get attention from a woman without risking it going too far, where you'll get hurt. On top of that, if it really does succeed he uses her as a crutch to get an ego boost from other people. He's obviously also very much trying to live the saviour fantasy where the only reason a woman would love him is if he "saves" her. I think this also shows low self confidence, as he can't really see other value in himself. Don't forget that a common sign of a lack of self esteem is acted overconfidence.
@@ivanlagrossemoule Possibly, although, as someone who spent many years working in the Mental Health field, I tend to disagree, Nothing he said indicated he had a depressed person's mindset. Depressed people tend to blame themselves, rather than others, although I admit this isn't always the case. In regards to low self-esteem... Again, possibly. Although, again, nothing he said indicated that. People with low self-esteem tend not to aim high, largely because they're both convinced they will fail and are convinced they aren't worth it. However, everything he DID say, is more akin to Narcissistic Personality Disorder- high expectations of others, a tendency to blame others for your failings, a lack of self-reflection and introspection (both things a person with depression tends to do far too much of), and a tendency to not see or comprehend your own limitations or need for improvement. But you're right, he MAY just be depressed.
What's super cringey about all this, is that he felt compelled to reveal all this to the public. And when the FBI is telling you to stop sending money, what the hell is wrong with you?
So sick of hearing guys like this complain about how they can’t meet “real” women. I reached out to so many guys like him - average 40 year olds - when I was online dating in my 30s, and was always told I was too old for them or “not in their league.” 🙄🙄🙄
Seriously, it's hard to feel sorry for the guys who demand 8-10s when they are 2-5s. My uncle was such a person, and he died a bachelor because the women who were interested in him didn't look like porn stars.
This is utterly pathetic. Even before her he was scammed and FBI told him to stop sending money to people. Some people are so pathetic they will always be a victim
I watched the full video from start to finish. I have reasons to believe this video is fake and that the people are actors. The story doesn't make sense. Think about it for a second. This is a channel dedicated to cat fishing which is essentially people scammed. The guy in the video came on the show through his own volution. Wouldn't that mean he's establishing the basis that he got scammed by an individual and that he's attempting to recover his loss? Instead, the guy is rationalizing that this is a real person and that the interviewers are attempting to tell him that the person is not real and that he's being scammed. How can someone both accept that they're being scammed but want to continue getting scammed? Either the guy is insane or more rationally this is a show and these are actors.
I've been a victim several times myself. We all want to be loved in life and I have been in disbelief of being scammed when I knew better but a part of me just doesn't want to believe it. NOTHING ever raises red flags with these people! The scammer could be standing in front of them screaming, “I AM A SCAMMER STEALING YOUR MONEY” and they still wouldn’t get it!
This is not even an exaggeration. Batshit Lois on Dr. Phil actually received texts from her scammer telling her that he is a scammer and to not send him or anyone else any more money. And she still did.

It's all a matter of perspective. He's right that it's an addiction, and if sending some Nigerian man all of his money gives him a dopamine pop just like a shot of her01n or line of coke does for an addict, then from his standpoint it's totally sane and #worthit. To the fraudster it is of course totally sane and actually pretty awesome as they have him primed and trained to hand over the money with less and less effort as time goes on. It's a mutually beneficial economic transaction, even if it appears from the outside looking in to be exploitative. Maybe it is? Drug addiction looks insane to everyone who isn't a dealer or crack smoker, but for those on the inside it's just a high risk but exciting lifestyle with perceived benefits to all participants. Fun and fulfilling! This dorky dorkwad McDorkface catfish victim here seems to us like somewhat who needs to literally be physically shaken back into reality (like, grabbing him by the shoulders and shaking him whilst yelling at him to return to reality), but from where he stands, this is his lifestyle that he uses his own money (at least for now) to finance and he feels that it is worth it. We all know he still sends money to this scammer or some other, and unless and until he starts robbing people or banks to finance it, I say we just let him have his fun - just like I feel about c-c-cr-cr-crack h-h-h-heads!
I’m a little creeped out with the way he described Valerie. He believes he can get a 10 from a sex worker because in his head she has no self esteem like him, and therefore, they would be perfect together. It’s twisted. He has no social skills.
He can get a 10 sex worker, but only if he pays through the nose every time. They make good money, so if he thinks that they will give in their work for him, he is deluded.
It’s the “I’m such a nice guy” routine that you also see from the female victims of these scams. It’s like they believe that they’re the only nice people around, so that quality alone puts them ahead of competition.
He says he doesn’t like the signs of aging and he’s almost bald. This guy is going to spend his life alone if he’s waiting for a woman that’s a 10. He needs to look at 1’s-4’s. That’s his level.

I am beginning to think there is something psychological going on with people who are repeat victims to these scams. It is the only explanation on why they continue on this treadmill while other people either never fell for it, or learned their lesson and moved on.
It seems like an addiction. He knows that he shouldn't do it and hates himself for it, and yet still pays her to continue the communication. Probably quite lonely and depressed, with the idea of being loved filling a void.

You guys seriously need a psychologist in the team. These people are paying for being positively reinforced. This is the most basic concept in behavioral analysis. They need to be positively rewarded for not paying, or for questioning themselves before paying, and a behavioural analyst would be the best person to make them understand that

The girl in the pictures is obviously a lot younger than him. Sorry Daniel, but you were punching above your weight here. Ask yourself why she wouldn’t go for a younger man?
He doesn't even look THAT old, he just looks like shit. Take care of your appearance and maybe you can find a non-scammer love interest. The haircut he got in the later video was a good first move. But yeah, the age difference with these scams never makes any sense. She is half his age. He needs a reality check
I was thinking that too. She looks in her early 20's. He's just delusional to think someone that young and cute would go for him. I can't feel sorry for him. Get off the internet already and find a real woman your age.
He said life is kicking me in the teeth again and then turns around and says he’s been scammed hundreds of times. There’s a weird lack of self accountability. This guy 100% has not learned his lesson. Edit: I was going to use the word addiction and then he beat me to it. Maybe he has some awareness but he needs to get the support he needs.
This isn't a scam and shouldn't be portrayed as one. This is a disservice to real victims. Daniel is knowingly paying a stranger to indulge his fantasy. If he's actually unaware of this (he's not), he should be legally declared mentally disabled, appointed a guardian, and have no direct access to his funds. There's plenty of real victims who've been taken advantage of.
Yeah, you're right. It's not a scam any longer. He totally lost it. I still feel bad for him. All these stories have a similar pattern though. They're all going to these scammers as a last ditch effort to finding love. I think that in itself is the most major problem over trying to figure out these scammers. What he really needs is some therapy so he can be a whole person again rather than trying these date sites where he's not a whole person and easy victim to these scammers. He's just hearing what he wants to hear.
@@rubyredall2145 it very well could be. The story is pretty silly in many ways like why would he go on a fraud site but so insistent that she’s not a scam?
I one hundred percent believe these are real stories. I’ve seen things like this happen to people I know. There are a lot of different things that play into it - for one cognitive dissonance.
Exactly. It only happens in life if he's filthy rich.

He can get a 10 sex worker, but only if he pays through the nose every time. They make good money, so if he thinks that they will give in their work for him, he is deluded.
I agree 👍
It’s the “I’m such a nice guy” routine that you also see from the female victims of these scams.
It’s like they believe that they’re the only nice people around, so that quality alone puts them ahead of competition.
The ironic part here in all this is that a sex worker would've cost him less than what he spent.
He says he doesn’t like the signs of aging and he’s almost bald. This guy is going to spend his life alone if he’s waiting for a woman that’s a 10. He needs to look at 1’s-4’s. That’s his level.
