Steinhatchee July 2021 C-Dory Scalloping Weekend during Hurricane Elsa

Thanks to Hurricane Elsa, our original plans to explore Marco Island to the Keys and possibly the Dry Tortugas were canceled. Instead, we had a great weekend in Steinhatchee where we scalloped every day and enjoyed our own personal fireworks display 2 nights in a row!

Love your C-Dory. We're just inland from Crystal River. Thinking of getting a C-Dory.

We also love the Beach Donkey and the Crystal River area. Have spent a lot of time exploring with the C-Dory in that area. However, we are actually thinking of upgrading to a little bigger boat. So we will probably be putting her on the market after Thanksgiving.

So we just got back from a trip from Goodland, FL to the Florida Keys for a week. Followed your suggestion and applied Rain-X on the outside and Fog-X on the inside...Worked like a charm!! Thanks for the suggestion;)

Great. Usually the comment section is for arguments that end with who claims to have better grammar. This time it was productive. If you use it on your car, you'll never turn your wipers on again, except when it starts to lose it's effectiveness. Then you'll use them until you reapply. It's about a 4x a year deal...

Love the set up, looking at selling my boat and buying a pilot house, we spend 3 to 5k a week for a house on the waterfront when we go on vacation, seen a few other boats with air conditioning, that would be a awesome setup

The C Dory is really the best of both worlds, a place to stay and on the water. We love it because it is easily trailerable. Yes, air conditioning would be wonderful. Until this summer, we had not felt that we needed it. The heat and humidity has been uncomfortably hight this summer. We are exploring options for A/C...hopefully to be installed soon!

No we do not have A/C. We have actually have not felt like we have needed it as yet. The ventilation on the C-Dory is amazing! The only time it feels stuffy or hot is if we have to close up the boat because of rain...which we try to avoid when we are on the boat if we can. Even then the rain usually cools everything off, so still not bad. We may have it installed in the future and have looked at the all the options. If we keep it long enough we probably will ;)
We have actually used the Wallace heater many times and have needed it more than we feel like we would have needed A/C.

you can't feel rain if you are underwater scalloping! OBTW. if no lightening, you are wasting time.
