Found your channel a while ago because I started playing the Pixel Remasters and then your videos popped up because I googled some stuff about the games
i don't think lavos core ever actually "shut off defense"..it just used active life without using its "defense down" turn somehow you skipped the "lavos core shuts off defense" turn

Even on a NG+ run its still takes me 7 to 10 hours DOUBLE that on a 1st run.
