Well done on the ring thing🤣🤣and great vid, back in the old days they put holes into coins and used thread to sew coins onto their clothes so it didn’t get lost or stolen. Hi Brun. The Manticore just loves all coins.You get the feeling you're not missing anything.That was the first time I've found half pennies with holes through and you may be right about that. Sometimes I've found lead hem weights- perhaps they might have used coins for that too? Those Bex adds were around probably in the early 1960's? Cheers.
Nice haul for sure Gazza well done mate. Although the soil there hasn't been good to the coppers, hopefully some silvers in good nic from there next time 👍
Many more coppers there than I expected,just a pity they were so crusty.That tap handle was very deep,and I had visions of a nice coin until I dug it.You could be right about the Yale padlock - something I didn't think of.Cheers mate and all the best for 2024.

G'day Gary! You certainly did a bit of copper mining there. But as you say, it might clear the way to the Silver's, let's hope so! Ive been beaten to the punch on the yale item, most likely padlock related. A full pocket of coppers is better than an empty one. Cheers Mate!

Hi Jim. I've been lucky enough to have some time off recently,so I've been able to get out detecting more often than I normally would.I can just remember that Bex radio add from when I was very young - early 1960's possibly.Take care mate.

That was a good roundup of coppers 😅 I love finding those old tap handles, I reckon that Yale plate would be off a old Yale padlock 👍🏼

@@DetectingOz the Bex and Vincent power was being sold in Cole’s and Safeway in the 70s and 80s, and they really worked fast on aches and pains
