Hmmm, you brought up an interesting point about the Plus tires. Not positive but it might be possible to fit them in there. Another alternative would be to go with the new SB5 that already comes stock with 2.6 tires. Of course, it's just short of being truely "Plus" tire but it's pretty close. Just a thought.
I'm planning to run 2.6 R / 2.8 R on any 29/b+ frame I get anyway, so I haven't ruled out the 2.6 bikes, (SB5, Mojo 3, Mach 5.5,) but I would really like to be able to swap 29/b+.
Looks like an awsome all around trail bike. I literally just bought a 2019 stumpy ST last month but if this bike was out back then and it was cheaper I would have considered it for sure. Their pricing is just too much for me though. But I do like that they come with a fox 36 that is sweet. I'll stick with my Stumpy though as I absolutely love it! We don't have any very knarly trails here around Pittsburgh PA so a bike with around 120-140 travel is all you need for sure. I think some people are buying too much bike for what they ride for sure. I like the poppy feeling of my bike and being able to hop around off roots and rocks easily instead of it being like a dh cadillac so these mid range travel 29rs are nice.
I see the Turq XO1 build still has a GX Eagle chain, cassette and shifter. For $7199 you would think you would get a full XO1 drivetrain. Still looks like a sweet bike for those who can afford one........
Thanks guys. I think the GX Eagle build is pretty solid already (enough for me at least). The GX Comp would be good, but 1000 bucks more for a slightly better wheel set, XT brakes and a carbon crank? Thats not a good value I think. If you don't need the carbon crank I think it would be cheaper to buy the upgrades separately. Anyways good bike, on my short list for next year.
YETI followed suit with the new ibis Ripmo, I.E. steeper seat tube angle, longer reach, slacker head angle, and of course opting for the 44mm offset over the 51mm. Good to see multiple brands are on par with this new geo and looking forward to see what the future holds ! I just got myself a Ripmo, so I won’t be on a Yeti this year, but this a definitely a bike I’ll be looking at in the future! Keep up the great content Jeff, thanks!
For me, this is more of a direct "replacement" for the SB5.5. With the changes that they made, I think this will be more of a capable all around trail bike than the 150. I think this is the clear winner if you are shooting for the 1 bike to rule them all situation. But, if you're actually racing enduro every season, the 150 would probably take the cake there.
Dan Sherwood if the 150 climbs as well as my Sb6c then I’d consider that the perfect all rounder, being that it can descend anything. But I am a bit partial to big bikes.
I'm still skeptical. Hate that Yeti is ditching the "perfect" design (the 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6) to get a water bottle placed differently (I bet the 5 and 6 will be eventually pitched into the past). Mind you, they have made some great upgrades at the same time here. I wish Yeti would get comfortable with their bikes and quit completely redesigning. But performance on the trail will have the last word and Yeti seems to have a good feel for what works.

She is out growing her current bike and with a State championship and runner up she has earned a nice bike. So I will be putting a new bike for me off at least one more year. Does Yeti give a NICA discount to Racers and coaches?
Gary Decker I always really liked the look of the Yeti SB75 and loved the fact that it was a super solid heavy frame. Call me weird but that’s a plus for me. It’s probably Yeti’s most unpopular bike ever but I regret not getting one. I bet it’s an awesome trail bike.

Liam - I’m 6’7” with long legs and arms...I like the reach number but the stack seems a little low. How much space do these ship with on the fork to add spacers. I would need 50mm under the stem with a riser bar.
rian4224 They come with uncut forks, 25mm of spacers but could always add more. Our 6'4" rider opted for a large SB150 after sitting on it, at 5'11" im between M and L and prefer the M. Before Ive ridden XL 4.5 and fit fine. These bikes fit big :)
The only thing that would stop me buying a Yeti is that I always seem to be on the cusp of their sizes at 180cm. Where as 180cm is smack bang perfect for a large Santa Cruz.. I find it strange because it seems to be a pretty average height. I know there's more involved in sizing up for a bike (inseam measurements etc).. Should I care less?
Best way to know for sure is get out and ride one! I will say that the new 150 and 130 are very long bikes so many taller individuals could potentially size down if they wanted. I recommend riding a M and L back to back to see which feels best to you :)
It's a hard call between the SB6 and something like the SB130. The SB130 would still make for a very playful bike. Personally if it came down to having one bike to do everything I'd go with the SB130. Can't really go wrong with either bike at the parks so it'll boil down to more of a wheel size thing and riding style than anything else. Hopefully that helped.
o. e.w. I’ve got an SB6C and I’m too scared to get rid of it in case any of these other bikes aren’t any better. It just feels perfect on pretty much perfect as an all rounder.
Preciated. Comes down to the SB6 vs the ibis hd4 - can't decide at all. Hd4 probably a better bike for me (shorter chainstay, wider wheels) but the Yeti is nicer plus very rare where I live.
Why doesn’t yeti turn their switch link sideways like they did on the sb100? I feel like it would add more room for adjustment and create a stiffer rear end.
im loving my mb but wanted more travel, which this has, but it also has a long wheelbase. I want something to be playful and agile and less stable as well as high 27lbs with pedals. Im curious if this is..... lol I hope not for my money issues :)
Hey Damian don't you know that the formula for how many bikes someone should have is N + 1? N is the number of bikes you currently own......Joking aside this bike as some very valid and performance increasing improvement over the (recently) older bikes. With that said the SB5.5 will always be one of our favorite bikes and I would say there is no need to stop riding it if it still makes you happy!
I had 2 29ers, liked the 27.5 better. Unless the geometry has changed I felt higher on the bike and although speed and getting over stuff was a little better, tight switchbacks were much harder. I live in Asheville NC and a lot of tight twisty singletrack but hey, I have an SB5 and its the best bike I've had. I love this S130 but the wheels..guess I'll just have to Demo One
Troy Hall Evil made a slack mid travel bike, but only slack doesn't make a great bike. Transition made the jumps with the reduced offset and slack, but also long reach and steep seat tubes. Evil IMO is now 3 years behind with seat tubes slacker than head tubes... Now Yeti perfected it with a great susension design and all the geo to suit it.
Liam Woods - Evil didn't just make a "slack" bike they designed a suspension platform and geometry to suit it on a full series of bikes which set the standards so high that all the other major players were nowhere near. 3 years later and similar brands are coming close using similar designs to what evil were doing all them years ago. Also how do you know this bike is perfect geometry etc... it dropped today, don't believe the hype until you've owned one for 2 years!!!

They pretty much did everything I was looking for! But not so easy to get Yeti in Norway where I live, so I'm staying on my Santa Cruz Hightower...

I prefer the grey yeti sb130 not that keen on the blue frame tho.
Can u use 170mm fork with this bike? Because ive seen someone with orange fork, and i know 150-160mm fox 36 dont come with orange..
Is this a 29er? Why are they going back to a lot of 29s? The 650b was better handling IMO. Am I missing something?
Yup 29er all the way! Yeti still has plenty of 27.5 options as well, they have something for everyone :)
