You should make some silicone moulds with the centres already hollowed out so you can save resin and the material that you put in your resin 👍

You should have just use resin as a coating to seal the holes, and smell, in.
The smell will get worse without a coating. With the organic material exposed to air, they will rot.

@@sexybarney_ I have one who I rescued as a tiny tiny baby. He was so small you couldn't even see his eye. There were no ponds near so I have no idea where hed come from or where he was headed. I was afraid to release him because he was so tiny & I didn't want him to be eaten by a fish. He wasnt much bigger than a nickel. My guys a painted turtle. How about yours?
@@iLitAfuseiCantStop so I have 2 girls and one boy One is a rescue I found him in the street being chased by cats he seemed to be lost. He was sorta big when i found em. The second one is one I bought at a flea market she was the runt of the group and now she's a chonker. And the third one is one the neighbors found in their yard. She has one eye only she still a little nervous with me but thats understandable since being half blind can do that. I can't really pet her that easily but the other two are sweethearts. I can fall asleep with them and they sometimes are just so cute 😍. They don't bite and they're good with other people. Also mine are red eared sliders.
Please buy a timer from the hardware store. Your turtle will be stressed and unhappy if you turn his light on and off at different times of the day.

I would consider re-sealing it, inside and out. Seal out the air, and they will outlast us.

it looks like a piece of Coral encrusted with feather dusters, worms, Claire at making it out of the Woods has done this also with pretty much the same results, it STINKS, either way still FUNKY !

A coating of polyurethane inside and out would seal in the smell

It's the perfect pot to keep chicken and lizard treats in!! As said before it just needs another coat of resin

Just in time for Halloween. You should try filling the holes and sides with some extra resin and then turning the resin edges smooth so it doesn't have a ruff finish. It might trap in the smell if it stinks a bit. That way they are inside the resin and the worms are not exposed. Then you can store whatever you please inside the jar. Look forward to hearing back from you, hopefully....

Definitely weird, but fascinating! As all your videos, I love watching the process, quite mesmerizing but always fun and good for a laugh. My daughter was watching something else on her phone while I was watching this video... as you do at the breakfast table🤣... and hers was something with pistachio nut shells. She promptly asked me if you have done anything with nut shells in resin. I didn't know, have you? Walnut shells might be interesting, too. Or even sea shells, for that matter!

I would add a coating of resin to try and prevent worm decomposition. Might help with the smell also but not sure.

What were you doing on a chunk of rock?
Idea...suggestions.....if you created a resin 'cup or bowl first, then pored the resin worms in, and put more resin on the inside...rather like layers, you could then create a bowl with a layer of worms on the inside... they would look awesome with look of whole worms swimming in the resin layers...and most importantly...no smells!

Love your work haha. Always fun to watch. Can't you seal the pot with a thin layer of epoxy and maybe try experiment with mixing maybe vanilla or some essence into the resin mix to reduce the smell of the worms
Weird one Nick lol but totally out of the box, ps get Charlie to show you how to make a lid fit perfectly he is fantastic at it just watched him making his first ever lidded pot and its awesome 👍👍👍
@Nick, the oil has come from the Meal Worms. Its due to the way they are dried out. When you added heat from the Resin, you pretty much cooked them again allowing the oils to escape.
You should try to carve candles!! Or a huge one from a mold! That would be awesome!! Like a huge candle box/pot!!

Would it get better results to stabilize the worms first with a vacuum pull? Seems like filling the worms with resin first might yield a better overall finished product.
