What you described is almost word for word Stephen King's The Long Walk. The one difference is "gets a shot at the olympics" would just be "gets shot".
I would LOVE a lottery style Olympics where the idea is you get some average person from every country and they compete in whatever. Maybe even give them time to train and stuff a bit. I think the only thing stopping this is the insane publicity these people might end up getting and not wanting.
It should be like the recruitment process for Squid games. Some random guy in a suit challenges you to some random game in a subway station, and if you win, off to the olympics you go.

Do you think transphobes actually care about women’s sports? Of course not. They care about the only thing conservatives value: oppressing everyone who isn’t white and cis.
1:52 The only reason breakdancing is in the olympics is because the “world ball-room dancing association” paid a big amount of money so that it would hopefully open up ballroom dancing into the olympics. So maybe ray-guns failure actually prevented ball-room dancing coming into the olympics
The Olympics should have a TH-cam channel. They should upload each individual sport contest as a series of videos that you can watch in progressive order weeks after the Olympic events have concluded. That's the best way I can imagine watching the Olympics. Also, just think of the TH-cam revenue they could make on the side.
That would lower the price of the broadcast rights networks buy. Probably by much more than any amount of TH-cam add rev would make up for. But yes, that would definitely be the best way to have the Olympics archived for the public.
They 100% should, but they won't cus the TV rights for each country are probably profitable af, YT ad revenue is probably nothing in comparison. But I had no idea how hype volleyball was, same for table tennis, and archery too. I wonder which other random af sports I would find out are top tier.

@@pentupletv Adding onto the other person's comment, the IBC claimed the test showed Imane had Y chromosomes, but refused to show any evidence that led them to that conclusion. They started these tests after Imane beat a previously undefeated Russian boxer and used the "results" to disqualify her, thus keeping Russia's undefeated streak at the world championships last year. That's why the IOC dropped them. Imane also competed at the Tokyo Olympics and won no medals. She lost in the quarterfinals. As someone who has done the 100mm, the hammer, discus, the javelin, wrestling AND the shot put, these are actually far more very difficult to do compared to stuff like ice skating, running and tennis. The Olympics are meant to mimic and mock things that would normally happen in battles and wars without ranged weaponry.

Cus why don't we have more events like that? Pole vaulting I don’t think takes much physical ability (I’ve never tried it I’m not sure) so I think that’s why it’s not that interesting because realistically anyone can get the same score (I think)
Imane Khelif won fair and square. She’s a biological woman who was born a woman and never changed anything. She just trained alot harder than the italian lady who couldn’t take 1 punch. If you want to make fun of someone , it should be the one who couldn’t take a punch.

Equestrian stuff is like driving a shitbox. Yeah, the car's doing all the work and you're only providing extra weight but in order to get the shitbox to do what you want it to do you'll need to know how to pull the stick and when to apply the gas or the engine will stall. And that's only getting it to drive. To do the funny walk thing with a horse is like trying to get your shitbox to balance on two wheels. I get why people think equestrians are useless and that the horse is doing all the work but it's about the same as saying that a racecar driver is useless because the car's doing all the work.

As someone who swam for a proper swimming club for three years, freestyle isnt actually where you can do whatever stroke you want as in most competitions disqualify you if you do anything other than frontcrawl.
Having done athletics during my secondary school years, I've actually done one of these "endurathons" a couple times, it's how we measure our maximal aerobic speed (MAS) ie the pace where we reach our maximal oxygen uptake. The track is lined with equally distanced signposts, and there's a speaker beeping repeatedly. We're supposed to reach the next signpost every time a beep occurs, and the beeps get increasingly faster. So you just run faster and faster until you give out. It's not uncommon for the toughest ones to throw up after finishing. So basically just like your endurathon idea, with the added spice that the set pace gets increasingly faster.
For the last time, Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting are not trans. There were not any trans athletes that we know of competing. Why do you people feel the need to even bring it up when it's not at all relevant.

Have the normal person Olympics. You CAN'T volunteer or sign up for it. All contestants are scouted from the grocery store and gas stations. Then, who ever wins gold gets to have a shot in the real olympics.
No it's a lottery. Everyone gets a number and then a lottery machine picks who competes in what sport.
@@TheJohnpants That could be interesting, but I wouldn't use that work all the contestants. We want normal people, the lottery system could end up picking...an Olympic level athlete (boring, same as regular Olympics) or a quadriplegic. (entertaining, but doesn't represent the average person)

@@pentupletv okay I’m not a hundred percent sure about this but I've heard that the IBC is actually a really dodgy organisation (which is why the Olympics don't use them anymore) and I’m pretty sure she got kicked out because she beat an undefeated Russian boxer and bc the IBC is a Russian organisation they said she failed a test to keep the Russian boxers undefeated status HOWEVER they never specified which test people just assume it was a testosterone test.
