Selling whole trees will cause a big price drop. Try for about 6 meter lengths for more money. :D
Yes you are right, but the Dag just doesn’t operate like that, never has :)
8 does even better...
Dagger epitomizes "Short cuts make long delays".
Yeah I'm just catching this series now but that's driving me nuts. He says he needs to make a bunch of money but is giving away the trees when profit could be so much higher.
I think the forest place across the river where the new field is would be a good place for the farmyard
That's where I have made my yard, I have my silage pit next to the river and I have cleared the ground off so I can see the stumps, but have not done much cultivating there yet. Stump grinder is going to cost a bit. Will have to wait until I sell the silage to get that thing, I cant find the mod for the tractor based grinder that Dagger used last series anywhere so i am stuck with skid steer tools which also means I need to be able to afford a skid steer.
I'll probably aim to buy my second plot right away with my silage profits to mow the meadow grass and get another silage batch on the way then extend my field. That said I have not seeded my 2 fields yet cos I have not had the coin to buy a seeder. Should be able to afford it with a couple extra loads of trees.
When you were talking about how slow it is when you get to the end of the field I was having PTSD from when I was plowing a big field lol
dark map
Why don’t you buy a logging trailer if you are going to do so much logging. Its an expensive investment but will pay for itself in time saved when loading the current trailer your using now.
Just buy the Sample for the plut from the presision farming map just select the plot and in the bottom left corner you can buy the information for like 1,5k
i was just thinking to say that but you already did and it is a great cheaper alternate
Yes and it's not as patchy as dags sampling
Chainsaw 100 is talking in his videos now, so if you finally turn your sound on and play with sound, you guys can talk to each other ,and wouldn’t that be a lot nicer
He said that he can't bc of audio distortion or smh on daggers part
@@MayonnaiseOnATable he can IF HE WANTS TOO, other you tubers do it all the time , and with the amount of money, Daggerwin makes I’m pretty sure he can afford it lol
@@goatash na I meant it's a temporary thing, and chainsaw said he's up for it in the comment section
Longer trees does not mean more money, which is why you are getting less than you expect. 6m is ideal for log size, and will be easier to handle on the trailer.
Highly recommend buying the sample for your one field instead of buying the sampler at this stage, also would recommend when logging fell an extra tree once your trailer is full and transport it to sawmill using the grab on the tractor since the trailer will act as a very large weight on the back end and your path to sawmill is mostly clear
I hope that you two can invest in a dedicated logging trailer, and dagger, I hope you start cutting logs to proper size and loading them better so you don't have logs hitting your cab of your trailer all the time. Safety first!
Does anyone else just shake their head when Daggerwin does any logging, your loosing money when you have the pieces so long, try cutting them at like 6 meter pieces, instead of 10 meter, you’ll make more money and fit more on the trailer.
Yep
He doesn't read his comments im guessing bc I've been telling him this for a year now. Everyone does. I couldn't play with him. Props to chainsaw having the patience
Haha
You really get more money? Dont you get paid by the ´liter´ of tree you deliver? I got no patience for logging, I just drag the whole damn tree including all its braches and leaves to the sawmill if I have to fell a tree somewhere. I autoload it on a trailer as well. Working with grabs is not my thing and my machinery literaly flies all over the place if I try, haha. Its like they get an insult they start curling and shaking like crazy.
@@AnnaMaria-zm8cv Anything under 7m or over 10m in length takes a penalty. Not straight wood takes a penalty. Failure to remove all branches takes a penalty. Not topping the tree takes a penalty. Dag and Chainsaw both sold similar sized loads. 9k vs 6k makes it quite clear that sometimes more is less.
Chainsaw is using his voice! Lets all send big Like to him and watch his video!
I was intrigued by the random sorghum and oats in the wooded areas so I did some testing. It can be harvested and it's ready in August, when the game begins. With seasons on, it will wither.
I tried harvesting it, but my combine got confused and reset to zero every time it changed from oats to sorghum. Obviously you need to harvest when only either of them is in the right season to harvest but never both at same time?
Make this series up to 100 episodes ❤❤ pls
Who all want to 100 episodes ❤
Great video! Also great to hear chainsaws voice again in his video!
The space where the trees are is probably the best option for the yard
spruce trees are worth more money so try to stay away from the pine. you could try doing the platinum expansion containers for loads more money for the wood.
This map is on high lattitudes, I think northern Finland, the wintermonths are REALLY dark. :)
Came to say just this... During the Winter months in Finland the sun sits really low on the horizon, therefore intentionally a dark map?
@@taverhamdave I live in arctic winter myself, but this map is even darker in December and January than in my real life :) I love this map though, but decided the wintermonths will just be used for the animals, productions and sorting stuff out in the future. Its just sad you already start in August and setting something up is difficult due to darkness, for this map especially the mod to start in Spring is very handy so you can have your stuff going and up and running after the long bright summer months.
If you think its dark now...wait til December. Sun? What sun? I'm doing a vintage survival run myself there...there's a few more anachronistic items (the log grab on my 1950s Volvo loader for one) because I can't find anything that old, but I'm running the Through the Years mod so I figure if its available its free game (to a point...most of the Platinum Edition stuff is clearly too new, but the mod dosn't disable that stuff). You guys should REALLY get some log trailers though...there's a couple of "homemade" ones on modhub that are dirt cheap and work great.
As this map is in Finland it's dark longer in winter and light longer in summer. If I remember correctly. It's pretty realistic as far as that's concerned!
Once again, amazing video :) Keep the good work up and cant wait till ep4!!
You have linked the wrong chainsaw video. you have linked the 2nd and this is the 3th
Hey Daggerwin the red cultivator pulls just as well as the blue one you were in to high of a gear last episode
I thought u could grind stumps with the chainsaw?? Swear I've seen others do that
That’s a mod. Forgot the name though
Lumberjack. :D
@@Sarlasin
@@KenBragg-w8q Ken you not Bregg about it too much ;D xD
Why do you cut them so big you could cut them in half that’s why it looks so crazy
Logs cut to 6m lengths are worth the most
You need logging trailers.
You are running Precision farming, having long meadowgrass does nothing for nitrogen in PF, if anything it will be far over target for most crops. best to mow the grass then cultivate.
Just start by purchasing the soil samples, for the starting plot (entire plot) it costs about $1800-1900 on easy economy. You will need to logout of the game then log back in to be able to select the plot to purchase the soil samples. For some reason it doesnt seem to let you straight away.
That last load should have been over 10k, the length of the logs really kills the price. 6m lengths are 50% more profitable than 9m lengths. Once you go above 10m they are a bit more profitable than 9m, but 6m is the best by far. Just need to spend some time to cut your logs better and you will make epic bank.
time for a logging tailer
as many hours as Daggerwin has in this game you would think he would remember that Saw mills don't like the full tree. 6-8m is the optimal length to max profits. the first 8m of a tree is the most valuable.
So after watching so many of Daggerwin's videos I finally want to ask; Do farmers, in other countries, drive on the road with the arms of the loader all the way up and forks pointed down????
Keep it up daggerwin
I think the combine is more important than the soil sampler
It is the problem of having a co-op series can’t really call it survival challenge either cause you aren’t surviving against anyone.
Early game it's easier to buy the field info and not invest in a piece of equipment that you only use sparingly. Think the area to the left of the rocks would be good for the farmyard, still gives you a nice field to grow on the right side .
I believe you can tow the trailers in tandem.
Probably best to do it empty going back up.
I would probably replant the tree area back to trees.
Leaving stumps tell a grinder is in the budget.
Your wobbly wands give the low price. The sawmill wants straight logs. 6 to 7m is fine, for sure for that trailer...
Why don't u load both trailers at once and have one take the load while the other keeps cutting stacks the logs
You need a truck that’s cheep so you don’t have to worry about having a tree on your back window 😂😂😂
If you cut tree you will get more money
are you ever going to continue with survival camping series it was a great one but too short
I think that your not stripping all the foliage off of the trees before you sell it.
Love the vids keep it up❤❤❤
You can make a farm like something at the place you store your cultivators
Can anybody help me aye?
Sold me wheat crop earlier at a grain store.
Dumped it into the hole, received NO money? Tf am I doing wrong 😂😂😂😂😂
There was a comment at the start of the video about how similar the videos are, how about playing a different times so you come on to see that things have progressed (a little bit like when you take a holiday - work continues when you aren't there). Would make people watch both videos.
don't know why but i always fool myself into thinking i can rotate the camera as if i'm playing myself whilst watching daggerwin, keep trying to zoom in and out too and scrolling down from full screen which is rather annoying.
New to all this but is there a specific reason you’re doing this on an older version of farming simulator? Considering buying the most recent one so just curious as to why if anyone might know?
Great video, love to watch all your content.
What server host do you use? As I use Gportal and me and my friends don't have any lag issues
wouldn't it be easier to cultivate around the trees before you cut them down ? no running over stumps and you can see the trees since there is no tall grass anymore
What are all your ideas for the fs. I think implementing landscaping with equipment would be nice.
Just buy the field information. 17k on a tool you’ll use once every 2-3 years is too much this early on in survival
i feel like you should be able to rent equipment. i dont know why you have that as a rule that you cant, especially specialty tools like the soil sampler that you will only need once
Renting makes it too easy, if renting was allowed and abused, they could cut down one tree, rent tractors, trailers and be almost at this point. Starting from 0 with no renting is a challenge. a lot of small channels start with only a chainsaw, or a lawnmower and a shovel and turn such humble beginnings into a full featured megafarm.
Now that chainsaw is talking in his videos get a headset on and communicate with him in game. I know you record without sound but you should try it for a couple of videos to see how it goes
Don't jumpcut and timelaps alle the tree cutting sone of us like it.
And plz keep overfilling the traileres love it
just buy the sample from map menu with money
is it only me or why is there crops in the forest...
Why don't you talk to each other?
Would be fun to watch and you could talk about some things that are going on or you might be interested in.
Why is it you never buy a proper logging wagon
A tree harvester should be your first investment.
I'm trying to do a whole farm with no pulled trailers, just direct connect tools
The benefit with two videos of the same event is, that you can see how to do it, and not to do it. Haha 🙂
Always have loved the co-op multiplayer more. Good work!
used to be able to pay for a sampling service instead of needing the machine.
Why dont you just get a cheap logtrailer? Just a hassle to load those flatbeds
How come you don't use one of the joy stick controllers from your reviews?
please start doing the trees rite. the is no way you could haul them the way you are. seems like you keep going away from the realistic way. starting to disslike your videos. just cut them to fit the trailer
Enjoying this series. New to farm simulator and great to see what's available. Been looking though your past vlogs and see the claas arion 400 series which I actually own with amazing detail plus I see youve covered Coldbough farm where my said arion 460 actually came from. Keep the great vids coming. Very enjoyable 👍
Love the start of this series keep it up
Why dont you just hook the roller up to the back of the drill
Cheaper to buy from the menu its like $1-5000 per field. 😅 domt need to soil sample with a machine.
Please cut the logs shorter, like around 6 meters. It triggers me quite alot when you put a long log thinking you'll get huge pay when you are actually losing money. 21:35
love watching this format!
Would it be possible to make a Playlist on your channel so i can watch all episodes in order, and see if there are new ones available?
Better pay if loggs are 6-8 meters Long.
🥇
What is this map called
You can use a bucket to pick stones from the field to save money on maintenance (stones destroy your equipment if they're bigger stones)
Dagger i loves the series
please allow Chainsaw to build the jard
8 meter lengths is optimal price.
You can link the 2 trailers to haul.
You need a longer trailer. 😀😀😀😀😀
why don't u add a new rule were u cut down a tree but u have to get rid of the stump straight after
I think you and chainsaw should do a coop gold mining series next
Daggerwin if you go to the forest and look at field info you can see that it says oat
22.11 in the morning absolutely blew my mind
full logs sell for less, 6-8 M is ideal size. full tree logs are nerfed alot
get chainsaw a mic
What map is this?
Yes
2:28 you could say you got stumped
Really enjoying the series until now, got hooked on the game thanks to epic's previous week and already loving it
Not last haha 😂
This being co-op doesn't...do much for me? I guess the no talking is a thing for them, but you guys don't communicate often so it's more like your both just owning a farm solo with a REALLY smart worker on it also. Maybe during timelapses you can show the chatter between you two deciding what to do on the farm that day? *shrug* some kind of not just visual co-oping either way plase.

The best way to see Daggerwin is thru Chainsaws videos.
Or with the sound of to not be hearing all the poor exuses for not even giving it an effort anymore.
Been a subscriber since several years, but I can''t manage to see a whole clip anymore.
it's a real bummer cause I really thought Daggerwin was the most enjoyable youtuber..
Absolute shocking comment.
Keep those type of thoughts in your head and away from the comments section such bad negativity 😡
