I actually grew up north and just moved down here not that long ago. A little town called milo, Brownville area. 45 mins north west from Bangor. We live on the outskirts of Lewiston now.

It would have been the easiest thing in the world to have fixed the tarps over the hammocks without moving cameras first, but you didn't. You moved the cameras and took that time and you told the story for us. Thanks.
I grew up in TN and “limb lining” was a popular way of fishing. Just hang a big circle hook with bait of choice a couple inches below a swivel a foot under the surface from a sapling hanging out over the water. That would work great in that area for having a fresh breakfast ready in the morning.

Unlike Lithium they don't need a charge controller, and unlike lead acid, they are relatively lightweight. Something unique would be a towable floating solar setup, for range extension and remote charging.
