    You should always take the jets out and clean the emulsion tubes openings.

    Thanks Moto-Resto, LLC for this fabulous video and discussion. I'm Dean, the guy from Seattle learning about multi-carb stuff if I finally decide to get a Valkyrie.

    I would like to thank you for the time you take for the videos. You do an amazing job. I live in Miami and let me know whatever you need down here. I have a Valkyrie 1800...thanks god I do not have to deal with 6 carbs....2 or 4 is ok, but man, rebuilding 6 carbs takes a lot of work. Love the sound of the 1500 is amazing but I think I will keep the 1800 fuel injected. Thank you Sir and great job

      Thanks much for watching and commenting. Six isn't as bad as you might think; once you get organized (that is the key right there) and into a rhythm, you simply do one carb at a time to avoid mistakes.

    Informative little tutorial , on the enricher, vs conventional terminology for " choke" .

    I have a 98 valkyrie tourer that I am looking to resurect after sitting since 2007. Which version of Brasso do you use to polish up the needle valve seat? There are several version. I purchased one, but fear that it may be too abrasive and leave a residue. Do you also do any other cleaning precautions after using it. Thanks in advance for a reply!

      Thanks for watching. I'm not sure about that. I am trying to remember if I even documented the jet sizes. Usually, I would go and check to see if they're OEM sized or part of a jet kit. The Valk did have a J and N filter; but usually, minor if any jet changing is required just with an exhaust change. Usually. There are exceptions of course. The intake side like tossing a stock airbox into the bin and going with pods is what absolutely requires jetting.
      I *think* I recall seeing something in the saddlebag or something regarding a jet kit or something, but I just can't remember. I work on so many of these carbs they all run together.

    I'm going to go look at, and potentially buy, a 99 Valk with only 15k miles but has been sitting for the past 2 years. I can pick it up reasonable but I already know I'm going to have to go through the carbs, if not the entire fuel system. Do you have a link to where we can get the same kit and any other supplies you used in this video? Thanks!

      @MotoRestoFL  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Certainly. redeye.ecrater.com/c/414983/carb-intake-seal-kits. I just looked, he doesn't have any kits listed right now. However, that usually means he's putting some together. It's a labor intensive job as you could imagine. Last time I saw this and needed one I used the contact at the bottom of the page and asked, he indeed was putting some together so awhile later perhaps a week I went back and ordered one.

    Thanks very much for that. Very informative. I'm looking to delve into my carbs in the near future.
    Can you tell me what the name of that kit is please. It looks more thorough than any other I've seen.
    Cheers.

      Yes. Red Eye Technical. Just Google that. You’ll find a carb kit or carb parts selection on his page and then go to the selection for the entire kit. You’ll have to order bowl gaskets, intake o rings separately. Also there are no float valves included. The OEM are ungodly expensive. Thanks for watching

    How do you clean the pick up for the richer Look like the one change the vacuum dynamic like can be clean is no hole in it

    • @MotoRestoFL
      @MotoRestoFL  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure I understand your question but I’ll try. The enricher on any carb whether it’s a removable jet or fixed is exactly the same as any other jet, ultrasonic cleaner then blow out the circuit using carb clean and shop air. The carb cleaner is visually checked to make sure the pathway is clear. Shop air just blows out the residue. I do use jet reamers to clean some circuits. It’s very tricky doing that and yes, jets can be damaged but I’ve been doing it so long I kind of know the feel before it could start cutting brass. Nowadays I lean towards replacing jets rather than cleaning. Cost vs labor is usually less.

    Do you do this for a living or just a hobby? Also I have a a 97 gas turned to water I was maintaining the bike and tried to start when I realized it turned. Now feels like throttle and everything is seized. This was my father bike that we have kept in family since he passed the Florida humidity hasn’t been kind. Would love help to get this restored.

    Curious where you buy most of your carb kits?
    I’ve tried the eBay kits and some parts don’t work.

      Not just the valkyrie.

      @@andrewnewman6510 many times I source OEM part by part. This is because Chinese kits are junk. K and L kits from virtually any supplier are decent. JD Jetting has a lot of nice kits. There’s a couple of Honda V4 suppliers such as V4 Dreams. Red Eye Technical used to have completed Valkyrie kits but currently doesn’t. But if I had to Pigeon hole a couple, I use Partzilla for OEM and Z1 Enterprise foe some K and L kits. Mostly, I end up just examining the parts fiche and picking up carb parts like I said part by part. Cheers.
