Myanmar’s junta has apologised after one of its fighter jets entered Thai airspace and flew above border towns on July 1, 2022, sending local residents and schoolchildren running for cover. The jet was seen above Thailand’s Tak province, as loud explosions were heard from villages on the Myanmar side of the border. Myanmar’s military government has been waging a brutal war against ethnic militias fighting in the country’s northern states.

To clear things out, this is NOT a war between Myanmar and Thai. It's a civil war between the Myanmar military and the pro-democracy militias inside Myanmar trying to restore Myanmar into a federal democratic union. The resistance is very strong in the Thai border, and the myanmar military went into the Thai airspace (probably) by accident. I'm not defending the myanmar military, I am a Myanmar citizen and I hate them also but I see no war threats to Thailand. Both governments are best friends, that's why we hate the Thai gov/junta also.

@@codelessunlimited7701 A genocide is happening to the Rohingyas but even us in myanmar don’t know the situation there now, I’m not sure if it’s still happening, and there are some other genocides happening to the Karen and Kachin ethnics . But overall, Myanmar’s junta is losing in Karen State and Sagaing Region (region is same level as state), the Karen ethnic rebels (allied with pro-democracy Burmese militia called People’s Defense Force PDF) captured around 20 military outposts on 2 July 2022 in a day. And in Sagaing region, the military is basically nonexistent there, with the civilian coalition national unity government governing there and opening schools. Chin state and Kayah (Karenni) states also have intense fightings but not much autonomy yet.

The video should have included the sound. The fighter jets sounds terrifying. I have heard a military helicopter flies above me and it sounded like an airplane lifting off but longer. And I heard a fighter jet take off and land(coming to land). It’s like the enemy has surrounded you and you can’t find where they are...until u look above...and far away, there’s a small dot getting bigger and bigger in seconds. These jets are really fast on sight and deafening.
And yes I am from Myanmar, heard them near the Yangon Airforce field(or whatever it’s called). They were training.

Flying kinda slow far south from my house from east-west and back, sometime with some maneuver. But the jet one....fly above my house, fast, low, and of course loud. Unfortunately neither the British (who were bankrupt) nor the Americans (who saw colonialism as a relic of a bygone age), nor the locals wanted a protracted withdraw such as experienced by Singapore, Hong Kong, Bahamas etc. We could have left in place a strong network of democratic countries if we had the resources and willpower to decolonise properly. Instead we left a bunch of countries with no infrastructure and no government in place for the locals to fight over.
