Well you did it. I noticed one of your stops had BP gas. You very seldom see BP in alabama anymore since that long crude oil leak in the gulf of Mexico happened a little over 10 to 15 years ago. BP had to pay dearly for crude oil damage to the Alabama gulf coast. Most of their stations turned into shell stations in Alabama. An interesting interstate ride is from close to Nashville, Tennessee to Chattanooga. Its almost completely downhill, mountainous. It's hard to believe you can just keep going downhill that consistently. Going the other way is the opposite. It's a truck drivers nightmare either way. Lots of burnt up brakes going one way, with a lot of runaway truck emergency exit ramps one way and hours of 30 miles an hour and emergency flashers going uphill the other way. Fantastic fuel mileage from Nashville to Chattanooga and terrible fuel mileage from Chattanooga to Nashville.

This is wild. I did an Iron Butt ride on a Honda 599 about 10 years ago. I couldn't walk properly for 3 days afterwards.
I have a 2020 Tuono now and couldn't imagine doing 1000 miles in a day on it. 500 miles is about the max I've done on the Tuono, can't imagine trying on the RSV4.

I love the Tuono. One of my friends has a 2020 Tuono as well. The 1000mi ride wasn't as bad as I expected. I thought it was gonna be hell but only the last couple hours were the ones that sucked. I think the route had a lot to do with it not being so bad.

I have the same bike as you. How you did 1,000 miles is beyond me. If I did anything beyond 200 I would want to get a gel seat and foam grips. The OEM seat is brutal.

I thought for sure I was gonna be cripled afterwards. I was ready for the worst. Turns out, it wasn't that bad.

Congratulations. I’ve only done about 200 miles on mine and could barely walk afterwards. I can’t imagine doing 1000 miles on a sport bike.

Thank you. I was prepared for absolute misery. Turns out, it was not that bad.

@@rsv4pilot114 I will have to take your word for it. No way am I ever attempting it myself!

@@nathanwooten1265 I was seriously considering not doing it. But it ended up not that bad. I think what made it better is the route we took was curvy and scenic for the most part. If it was straight flat boring interstate, I think it would have been hell to do.

Have you thought about what bike you’re going to replace your Rsv4 with?

    • @rsv4pilot114

Probably a sport touring bike. Mainly because when I ride with friends, we do all day rides and luggage options would be nice. Also, Mrs RSV4 would ride with me since she hates being on the back of the RSV4. Don't blame her on that. Also, I am not planning on tracking this bike so it makes no sense of having it. I've had many sportbikes in my life and now I think I'm over it. I still love them, they are amazing beautiful machines, but doesn't fit my riding style and what I do with bikes anymore. Maybe the new Tiger 1200GT Pro, BMW R1250GS, BMW R1250RT. Not sure yet, but we will see.
