    At about 4 years, my BenQ 3550 has a dead pixel, a constant white dot in the middle of the screen. When I got it, I had to return it twice due to lemons and the one I stuck with has a grinding sound that I'm convinced is not normal fan noise. My point is, this is an upgrade decision it sounds like many folks are in, and I'm fairly certain I'm going with the 3560, for my light controlled room, due mainly cost. I simply only expect either one of these to last 3-5 years. Even though the 4550i 's LED light source is rated to last 5 times longer, I'm convinced that for either projector, one of a dozen things will start to fail. 3560 is almost half the price, and in 4 years, I'll be trading up anyway. This is still a step up from 3550, which I was happy with PQ-wise, if not the noise and quality control issues. The brighter LED light source is very tempting, but not worth twice the dough.

    I've always preferred to use smarteco (Dynamic Black) rather than Eco because it dims the lamp based on content and increases lamp life.

    This a great review Thank you!! I subscribed! As a noobie to projectors I really think that the 3060 fits the bill in my light controlled basement set up. The projector will be above me in a low 7 foot ceiling. My worry is the noise but I would hate to shell out for a 5050ub or a 4500i for more quiet. Is the eco mode really that dimm like you said and is normasl mode that loud. Do you really think I should stretch for one of those high end midrange that I mentioned. Like I said I feel that the 3060 checks many boxes for me but.... noise

    Thank you so much. This is exactly the review/comparison I've been looking for.
    I'm looking to replace a 3550 that died, and I'm having a hard time mentally (and spousally) justifying almost double the price from the 3560 to the 4550i. In a fully light-controlled environment (dedicated room with dark walls, ceiling, carpet, no windows), is the jump in picture quality from the 3560 to the 4550i enough to match the jump in price?
    Aside from the light source and peak brightness, it seems their features are mostly on par with each other (HDR10+, eARC, low input lag, tons of picture modes, color accuracy, local contrast enhancement). The only times I felt the 3550 seemed too dim were for some 3D movies and some content with WCG engaged. I'm hoping the improved iris and slightly increased brightness will be enough without having to jump another $1300 for the LED light source.

    I really like the videos you are doing. I hope this is the right place to clear my query.
    My amplifier is denon 4700h. Im using 3 sub. 2 klipsch 120sw in the rear and 1 kef kub 12 in the front. Im not getting enough bass from the front sub. In the amp its given lfe+main and 120hz. In the back of the sub it is turned full down to lfe, phase is at 0. Still i cant feel the bass. What should i do to get a good bass from the front. I tried changing the position but still its the same

    Thank you for taking the time to make a video, but was this really a comparison? Seemed like two separate reviews with little discussion on relative merits, other than remotes and internal sound, which are the last two concerns for most people. And to say that either have excellent black levels really shows the limitations of purely subjective reviews.

    • @thedaingeon
      @thedaingeon  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah I see what you mean. Honestly its really tough to tell the difference on camera but the main things that set these units apart are the LED vs Lamp light sources, price, the QS02 media stick, HT4550i H and V lens shift and physical size. I tried to showcase both equally but could probably do a better job with more side by sides etc. Thanks for the honest feedback and other suggestions. Hope you like and sub

    Thanks for this review. Interesting to see the power up/down times, I've been looking for info about that everywhere but it's never mentioned. As an owner of a lamp based PJ (Benq TK850) I'm intrigued by the "instant" power-on of Laser/LED projectors. One thing not mentioned in the video unless I missed it, since the HT4550 is a 4LED projector, I'm guessing it does not have a spinning color wheel? If that's the case, one less moving part, and less noise I guess. Also less chance of RBE?

    • @thedaingeon

      Glad I could help. It is still DLP and has a color wheel. Some people can still see the rainbow effect but I don't and obviously sensitivity is different person to person. Overall it is a beautiful image using the 4LED tech. Hope you like and sub to the channel.

    Torn between the two. Trying to make the upgrade from my HT2050a for movie watching. The HT3560 is within my price range but I’m worried it won’t be that much of a noticeable upgrade. However, the lumens, led light source, contrast, and vertical and horizontal lens shift on the HT4550 make me wonder if I should sell my kidney… I kid, I kid… Do you think the difference between the two is significant enough that it’s worth saving for?

    Are you able to measure the brightness of both projectors?
    I have an HT3550 and even though it is advertised as 2000 ANSI lumens the highest I've measured is 790 ANSI lumens. No matter what settings I use I can't get higher brightness without ruining the color accuracy. I'm wondering if my projector is defective or if that's par for the course.
    If the 4550 is significantly brighter I might consider upgrading.

      @@thedaingeon The 3550 is an LED projector, not a bulb projector so "bulb" life shouldn't matter but mine had fewer than 100 hours on it. I ended up returning it due to the very low light output and ended up with an epson LS12000 which is significantly better.
