I'm literally binge watching every movie you've reacted to. My favorite Keanu movie is from 1986 called the River's Edge. I think you're so lovely.
Peter Stormare as Lucifer is still one of the best portrayals I've seen on screen.

Viggo Mortenson ("Aragorn" in LotR) gave a pretty good performance, too.

Probably the best portrayal of Satan in movie history. Peter Stormare was a great choice and he killed it!
You need to watch more movies. It's really good, no denying that. But Al Pacino's portrayal in Devil's Advocate is the real deal.
When Keanu Reeves was asked which movie he’d like to make another of he said it was this one out of all of them.
The chair was an electric chair they used for executions in Sing Sing Prison. No Constantine 2 but Keanu did say that is the role he would like to do again.
I've never heard anyone describe Constantine as a scary movie.

I was like 14 when this movie came out, and I was a big fan of Keanu Reeves since the Matrix (1999). I remember thinking this "into the light I command thee" scene was really cool. 43:43. Like a typical nerdy/geeky boy with his nerdy/geeky friends, I started doing this motion whenever we would play around, and incorporate it into jokes.
The things he held up to the light and then touched to her head are holy symbols of various religions. In a sense you're right, each one is a key to the particular demon's weakness.

Isabelle killed herself so she could not be used as the vessel, that is why they had to get the twin to "wake up" her powers again so they could use her.
As far as I know, there is a Constantine 2 in development right now. We have wanted it for years but it kept having issues getting made.

The medallion he touched her head with is the Chi- Rho it's two Greek letters to form the symbol for Christo, and it translates to "Christ" .
Balthazar Is played by Gavin Rossdale, lead singer of the band Bush. I highly recommend checking them out for your music reactions. Glycerin is a good song to start out with.
I love religious horror movies. Not that this is very far into horror but still. You figured out Gabriel's angle so much earlier than I did. I love the name "Balthazar". Bisscute said, "Stay in your lane, bro."
You gotta love the appearance of Gavin Rossdale 😍 Tilda Swindon also very distinctive. And can we please appreciate A Perfect Circle's brilliant song "Passive" in the club scene.

It’s kind of funny about the name John in regards to Keanu. Hollywood wanted to change his name to John, because they’d thought people would have a hard time using his real name, but ultimately decided against it, either because he didn’t want to or they just didn’t care anymore,I don’t remember. But, it’s been a kind of running theme/joke now for Keanu to play a “John” in many, or most, of the films he’s starred in.

There is a Constantine series that is more true to the original comic book (although he doesn't smoke in that one) from 2014. Sadly it was cancelled after one season but it's well worth watching.
*Another great movie with Keanu and otherworldly forces is "The Lake House". I highly recommend it, by the way, he starred there with Sandra Bullock and this is their second film collaboration. Before that, they starred in the movie "Speed" - I also recommend watching it, this movie is an icon of films of the 90s. And Keanu is still very young there))*

Constantine is based on a Vertigo/DC comic book character, and was always named John. The chair Midnite has is the electric chair from Sing Sing, which was used to unlive condemned prisoners. The comic is grim, but good. And there are hundreds of episodes now.
Yes, he was also introduced in the Arrowverse on WB, Earth 1. I don't remember if it was actually in 'The Arrow" or in "The Flash" or maybe even one of the crossover series of episodes.
There was a Constantine TV show that got cancelled after 1 season. It was VERY good.

A couple of days ago, I started to watch this reaction and realized that, although I remembered this being a fabulous movie, I couldn't recall all of the details. So I stopped watching the reaction and watched the movie again so I could enjoy you discovering all the bits and pieces. But I hate to say it but you did overlook one thing: this movie is like the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies - there was an end-credit scene. In fact, I didn't realize that until just yesterday. 😁
BTW: I like the BABYMETAL look with the hair. 🤘🦊🤘

The Spear of Longinus was in a museum in Austria, it was taken by the the SS during the annexation of the country by Hitler's regime. It's a real artifact but of course a medieval forgery, it was the spear that pierced Christ side. However it's most likely a medieval forgery, but Hitler took it seriously and gave it to the SS.

Most people don’t get it from John and Gabriel’s first conversation. He smoked since he was 15, he’s going to die young. The life he took is his own. Otherwise she wouldn’t mention his smoking, she would just say he took a life, if it was unrelated to smoking

Spear of Destiny is an actual thing, wether it's authentic or not. It is a relic, a spear that was believed to be an actual Roman spear that pierced Jesus' side. There is no proof that it was authentic, but young Adolf Hitler was said to have taken a great interested in what was believed to be the Spear of Longinus, or Spear of Destiny, while observing it in the castle where it was heald. The sequel to ID Software's (Doom, Quake) early 1st person shooter game #Wolfenstein3D, where you shot nazis from a first person view and fought Hitler in the end, was also named Spear of Destiny.
