Cool little detail you might have missed is that at the beginning when that guy finds the Spear of Destiny and then turns and looks over his shoulder at seemingly nothing, it was because he sensed Constatine was behind him. Later on in the movie when Constatine uses that electric chair to track down where the Spear is, it shows him standing behind the guy when he finds the Spear. So it's like a little time travel thing.
Same with Isabel part. In the security camera footage (reviewing by Angela), before Isabel jumped off the building, she turned around and said Constantine's name without his presence. Then later when Constantine went to hell and found Isabel, she turned around and saw him and said his name just like in the security camera footage.

I have wanted a sequel from the first time I saw this movie in theaters. I know it was an "Americanized" version of John Constantine, but out side of the accent, the tones and what made John, John were still there.
I loved this movie. It was under appreciated back then because expectations were strangely high for movies back then and Keanu was not appreciated like he is today.
I do love this movie. I do have to separate my love of comic Constantine and the perfection that Matt Ryan brings, but I still think aside from the physical inaccuracies, it's not that far off. Constantine is a lonely, massive dick. Plus, Peter Stormare as Lucifer is PERFECT. Like, top notch.

This movie is just straight up fun for me, also I had seen this movie easily hundreds of times and had no idea there was a post credit scene till about 2 weeks ago.
I loved the 'uniqueness' of it when it came out and couldn't wait to own a copy. Yeah, the 'film' quality is wonderful, as opposed to the faster paced stuff we would end up getting later on. Swinton is brilliant casting. It was so cool to not only see Morpheus show up in John Wick... but also having Stormaire (Lucifer) as well. It makes me want to see Wick's head table consisting of all the women he has ever acted with... Weisz, Swinton, Bullock, Carrie-Anne Moss, Winona Ryder, etc. Maybe even have his in-movie dead wife at the head, being not so dead. Maybe she pretended to be dead just to get Wick back in the game.
This has always been one of my absolute favorite movies. Especially one of my favorite movies with Keanu Reeves in it. And it's so under-rated and so many people have never even heard of it. I still go back and watch it occassionally even after all this time and I feel like the effects for the most part still hold up really well. Just an absolutely fantastic movie and I wish it had really gotten more attention because I had really wanted it to get a sequel too
This is definitely in my guilty pleasure of movie collection it’s in my ghost rider my my Blade Trinity box. my my priest my Jonah hex collection. I do love this movie it was pretty much my introduction to Constantin even though it’s not the traditional Constantine I think that Reeves did amazing job. I feel like Djimon Hounsou is always just a guy that knows somebody he’s never the main guy I will definitely pick him to be brother voodoo in the MCU. I do like what they did with Rachel Weisz. I like tilda in her role.
This movie has so many great shots. When he first gets out of the taxi and the dropping of the cigarette is filmed from the bottom and and him getting out of the taxi filmed from above. And Stomare is amazing as Lu
It’s one of the only adaptations that I think wouldn’t have been better if it was more comic accurate. I love this movie. The devils dirty feet. So symbolic.
Yes!! Idk how many times I watched this because of how cool it is and how unique the film is. Always checking every week if someone reacted to this haha so im really glad you did. Thank you!
Loved your reaction to this and love this movie. The artwork in this movie really motivated me to go all in as a digital artist. Fun Fact: Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz starred together in another movie, "Chain Reaction", also starring Morgan Freeman. It's worth a watch if you haven't seen it.
This movie is an absolute treasure and incredibly unique. So ahead of it's time and such a shame that it never got a sequel. Keanu killed it. Even today there's no other movie like Constantine.
Fun fact. Although 666 is considered today to be the mark the beast, this is actually a mistranslation, the true mark is 616 according to revelation 13:18 and even Going all the way back to fragments of Papyrus 115. So in the scene were father Hennessy looks at Isabelle’s toe tag and you see 616, this is a subtle clever piece of foreshadowing to let you know that the devil already has her soul. Also, in case you’re curious, the designation of universe 616 was named as such by comic book writer and real life wizard Allen Moore (in an issue of Captain Britain,) who also wrote Constantine (Back when it was known as Hellblazer) And if your wondering why he chose the mark of the devil as the main marvel universe, it because he thought that it would be cool if the main comic universe was just some really big number, and he chose 616 as a subtle jab and critique of marvel Comics.
I love this movie! I saw it in theaters, I’m a huge fan of the comics, I’ve watched this a million times and I had no idea there was a post credits scene… Keanu is a great Constantine even if he’s not British or blonde, but Peter Stormare as Lucifer is the best thing ever.

Such a fantastic reaction to such an entertaining film. During the entire reaction was wanting to see that shirt better. Thanks for that. Also, that after credit scene? It isn't that Chaz became an angel. He was always a half-breed, tasked with hanging out with and "influencing" Constantine for the better. Like Balthazar. Constantine just didn't know it.
@@pnut3844able Nah. As the saying goes, "The Lord works in mysterious ways" To be clear, I wouldn't care if he did turn into an angel. I prefer my interpretation of it. Cheers
I was taught that angels were described as beautiful men with golden hair. When years ago I saw this movie I remember seeing Tilda and thinking wow I bet that is exactly what angels look like. I wasn't sure who the actor was or their gender was at the time but I was mesmerized and still am.
I was 16 yo when this movie came out. I absolutely LOVED it and must have watched it half a dozen times since. Also, I love the post-credit scene. Was Chas Kramer an angel all along? Did he become one as a reward? Who knows? It's great! 😂

I love the little extras that build out the universe it's placed in. Surfing "the Chair" and has to know which way is East. Returns from Hell and "I need to eat.". Mirror used as a gateway/portal and reflections showing the reality beyond the appearance. Water is a dimensional lubricant, especially if fully submerged. Great movie and great video.
Something that took me years to realize was that Balthazar wasn't doing Satan's bidding. He was blown away and killed by Gabriel who was working with the enemy from the very beginning
Half-breed angels/demons weren't really enemies though. They even hung out and got drunk together at Pappa Midnight's club. Everything is peaceful unless someone tries to break the truce (Balthazar and Gabriel). What annoys me about that scene though it Gavin Rossdale sounded like Austin Powers. "Fire?! I was made of this! Yeah, baby, behave!". It's such a minor thing but it irks me to this day.

I love this movie so much. I received it as present when I was 13 (I am since kid into freaky movies) and it did not had subtitles in Romanian, so I stayed all night and tried to trasnalte every word I did not understand in English (I was obviously still learning English).
In conclusion: This movie is verry close to my heart.
Also: it introduced me to Keanu Reaves 😁
I have wanted a sequel from the first time I saw this movie in theaters. I know it was an "Americanized" version of John Constantine, but out side of the accent, the tones and what made John, John were still there.
I loved this movie. It was under appreciated back then because expectations were strangely high for movies back then and Keanu was not appreciated like he is today.
It's beyond me how so many people have never seen this movie. This is one of those that I always return for a rewatch.
@@Kevmaster2000 that's fine, I saw this movie first and I also love Mark Pellegrino's Lucifer on Supernatural. I love Tom too, but there are different versions to enjoy and I choose to do just that.
@@sarcasmxkate Another great one was Viggo Mortensen in The Prophecy!
@@dallismurphy3802 yup! There's a lot of room to play with that character so I'm just open to all of it. I don't think there's a definitive version, just versions we prefer.
No, he overacted the shit outta the devil. Horrible
@@Kevmaster2000 oh dear god. The CW version of ANYTHING sucks. DC fucked up big time doing those shows.
Greg I’m half-Filipino and I said the EXACT same thing you did in that scene with the Filipino family, the first time I watched this.
It’s really awesome to see so many people going back and enjoying this movie. This thing is 17 years old and I’ve liked it ever since then.
Since he loved this so much. I can’t wait for him to watch The Sandman. This movie is so under appreciated I absolutely love it
My favorite version of John Constantine is the one played by Matt Ryan in the short-lived series titled Constantine. Matt plays that character to pure perfection and it's like the comic has come to life whenever he speaks
I can agree most certainly agree and did you he becomes a mane character in legends of tomorrow
@@juancaberoy8349 Yeah but I stopped watching that show ages ago. But I'm glad Matt still gets to do voice over for the Constantine.
Yeah but this ain't Matt Ryan
@@thomasanderson2384 What gave you the impression that I didn't know that?
I agree 100% even in the DC animated movies and shows he plays him so well it's almost as if the character was created for him to play.
This is such a great movie, definitely underrated. I think Keanu said he was down to do a sequel. They need to make it happen!
No way! I was just telling my brother yesterday how well this movie has aged after recently watching it on Netflix I’m stoked to see more people watch it
This movie is just straight up fun for me, also I had seen this movie easily hundreds of times and had no idea there was a post credit scene till about 2 weeks ago.
Just an absolutely fantastic movie and I wish it had really gotten more attention because I had really wanted it to get a sequel too
These “First-Time” watchmaking’s have been such wonderful surprises! Love them ☺️
*watch-alongs 😝
Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz have a great chemistry on screen. Same thing with Chain Reaction, they were both great in that movie as well.
Same...
This movie deserves a sequel! I think it was ahead of it time! Loved it! Great reaction as always!
This was definitely one of my favorite movies growing up, Constantine along with Blade were great supernatural comic book films
Keanu was such a good constantine
Saw this a week ago and they just announced a second one! So hyped!! Funny he said he hoped for a second one 🤣
The tar dripping as he descends is the perfect symbolism for a fallen angel. The whole scene is one of my favorites
Absolutely love this movie, can't wait for a sequel...
Keanu Reeves is a legend.
This was one of my favourite movies from childhood. I'm a huge Keanu Fan. Thank you for this reaction!
Peter Stormore's portrayal of the devil is right up there with Heath Ledger's Joker
I really love the movie, one of my all-time favorite Keanu Reeves movies with also astonishing good supporting actors. I would rate the movie 8/10
Edit: and yes, i would love to see a sequel! **fingers crossed**
Watched this way back in the theaters and instantly loved it! What a shame that people didn’t appreciate it at the time, a well made sequel would have been magnificent!
Uhhhhhh no. He turned into an angel lmao..
@@pnut3844able
Nah. As the saying goes, "The Lord works in mysterious ways"
To be clear, I wouldn't care if he did turn into an angel.
I really did like this movie. It was just fun. Yeah Tilda Swinton was amazing in this.
This has been my favorite Keanu movie for years. Then came The John Wick series. Now all 4 of these movies are my faves along with Constantine.
I love this movie. Post-credits scene was pretty cool too.
I love how you geeked out with the visuals, cinematography, etc. this movie is such an underrated movie.
I was 16 yo when this movie came out. I absolutely LOVED it and must have watched it half a dozen times since. Also, I love the post-credit scene. Was Chas Kramer an angel all along? Did he become one as a reward? Who knows? It's great! 😂
*Nobody can replace Keanus Reeves as John Constantine, period!! he’s the perfect actor for him. i start loving John Constantine when Keanus Reeves shows up. And it was perfect, everything was perfect. Voila!!*
I just rewatched this yesterday lol. Love this movie!
i'm honestly shocked you hadn't seen it with how amazing some of the scenes and film choices are. (i'm not talking about how the character moved away from the source, but more so the themes and music and eerieness.) It's an amazing film, and I watch it yearly lol
Love, love this movie and can't wait to see your reaction!
@@plainOldFool lmao I never really noticed that, I'll never unhear it now. But yeah I think this movie is criminally underrated. I think the issues amount to just some editing weirdness
He wasnt work with Lucifer? So, what was he doing?
@@fifthtouch the unseen figure who destroyed him (with wind basically) wasn't Lucifer like I thought for so long, but Gabriel. Lucifer wouldn't have wanted the sister to be drawn out like Balthazar mentioned, bringing Lucifer's son to Earth was what Gabriel was after all along
@@fifthtouch The conspiracy involved Gabriel and Mammon (Lucifer's son) with Balthazar simply being the liaison between the two. This was about Mammon trying to usurp power from his father and Gabriel forcing mankind to prove that they deserve salvation.
Peter Stormare as Lucifer is just .... goosebumps. Loved this movie, it captures the mood so very well.
Opening scene is sick😂
People crave for that sort of swag lol
I wish I had it
@@thomasanderson2384 and its why i remember him as Costantine not constatine(the one that ryhmes like time)
I think Reeves said if there was a sequel he could do it would be this. Which would be AMAZING. I really liked this film when I first saw it. Great reaction as usual.
They are making a new one.
Tilda was so good in this! I remember this movie from when I was a kid! Loved it!
WB just announced a sequel! With Keanu and the original director!
One exception where some passionate people took a DC character & made it their own, and it paid off.
Super excited for the upcoming sequel.
That movie was absolutely amazing and I thought even back then this needed a sequel.
Thank you for this reaction. I think a sequel would be recieved astoundingly well. Keanu begged for it on a talk show and I hear one is underway....which means it been completed if you understand how studios work.
