Just received my Wired freedom. Took it for a ride. OMG ! I swore i saw close to 2400w peak. Did a 10 mile loop around my home , trail and hills. It was a blur and destroyed all hills at 245lbs. Thanks to your initial review i am now a wired ebike owner. Keep up the great content!
Getting mine in October. Some of the supposed changes are…battery will be a Samsung battery instead of LG. Both are great batteries. Rear rack will be beefed up and mounted differently I believe. Still comes delivered with two shock options. Didn’t hear about any other changes. Can’t wait to get it.
@socalcook yes. The rear rack and fender is an issue. Mine rubbed severely so i had to remove the fender completely. I made a fender for it already but it seems like the rack will have to be shimmed to gain about at leastnan1/4 more in order to fit the fender and not have it rub
I went with the cruiser and for my 5'9 height and age ability Im glad i did, this is a huge bike in person, photos and videos really don't show its size. if you have any leg issues or height and weight or age, get the cruiser. Most people giving reviews are in great shape and can swing there leg over if you are not them in height and ability get the cruiser
It's surprising how big the bikes actually are, when you stand beside them. I was concerned that the bike would look small when I was on it. It was a very pleasant surprise. Great ebike. I made the right choice.
I got the cruiser a couple weeks ago. I love it! So fun to ride. I hit 35 mph on flat ground , throttle only. I upgraded the seat to a giddy up seat and makes it much more comfortable. I’m glad I got the cruiser. The bike is a beast and step thru makes it easy to get in and out
Several months ago I received the WIRED FREEDOM. Added the mirrors and suspension seat post with a great suspension seat. I'm 6'2" 190LB now over 700 miles later I have riden ebikes that cost more twice this and was not that impressed with comfort or performance. This I BELIEVE IS THE BEST VALUE YOU CAN FIND. THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO
We just received our Freedom bikes two weeks ago. My wife, the proverbial tomboy, didn't want a step through bike as she always associated this style as a girls bike. Now, she wishes she'd have gotten the step through bike as it affords easier mounting and dismounting......especially in an emergency-------say, if you let your front tire slip off the downhill side of a trail;-) I'm nearly 60 and my wife is several years older, both with good flexibility. I'm still an 18 year old kid between the ears....but I have a much healthier respect for falling or getting hurt. Suffice it to say that my bike will see far more difficult trails than hers will, but they will both see plenty of smooth roadways. Just wanted to thank you for your initial reviews of the Wicked, now Wired bikes.....as you pushed us over the edge to take the plunge. We look forward to 1000s of miles ahead of us.
@@CitizenCycle925 I've been mountain biking for years with many "saves" and a few "fails." The wife has zero experience with on trail "situations".....so I will keep her out of those situations until she's ready. Truly enjoy your videos and have learned a lot about the e-bike craze.
Both nice bikes with a sweet price and iam glad you're discussing how to mount the bikes alot of people don't realize there may be a issue because we all think in our minds we're 18 years old and our bodies aren't
But still waiting and excited about the x2 step thru 60 volt video since iam buying that bike and still waiting for lampro to get back from states with it 😀
I have both bikes! The quality is excellent! Steven, the owner , has the best customer service on thePlanet! I've modified other e bikes but this one excel's them all! I have fifteen hundred miles on the cruiser 0 problems! I am 71 years old and mounting the cruiser is a piece of cake! But the ride on the freedom is very smooth!
Good to know that you have both bikes and compared them side by side along with Bryan,(citizen) Another person comparing both is just more info I like to read! I ordered the Cruiser and is expected to arrive 10/23🤞. At first I was a little concerned about the ride quality of the cruiser,(since it doesn’t have rear suspension) compared to the freedom but the step through is much easier to mount, in which I want since I’m getting older. Bryan, (Citizen) recommended a bikaroo spring loaded seat in which he said helped out a ton with the ride of the cruiser! I currently have that seat in my Amazon cart when the bike arrives! My question to you is, I’ve seen people write about a noodle or jello effect on the cruiser? Meaning the frame wobbles a little as you ride. Not as sturdy as the freedom. Since you have both wondering if you can confirm this? If so, is it a lot and a big deal or is it slight and tolerable? Thanks👍
@@johnb6174 the cruiser feels light in the front. If you add too much weight in the rear you will probably get a wobble but I'm talkin over 20 lb! I have a large 25ah battery on the back. If you join the wired e-bike group and look at my post you will see what I did! Work for me but the bike is sturdy on trails too! Where the freedom goes the cruiser will go to!
Over 70, hip issue or don't want to remove that mountain of survival gear on your rear seat/frame rack? Try mounting Freedom framed-like bikes this way: Standing next to left of bike facing forward, with your LEFT hand, grab bike's left handlbar grip; tilt bike towards you as you use your RIGHT HAND to grab your RIGHT ankle and GOING FORWARD assist your RIGHT LEG over bike. This works for me as I have a TON of stuff on my rear bike seat carrier (Hemingway Cobra Pro). Now eyeing Wired Freedom for Reconnaissance! Great comparison, Citizen (The Good Son)! And thank you for looking out for your Dad. ...Keep peddling with God! ...Chappy
You are spot on with your advice. It's getting harder for me to get on and off the high bar ebike as I'm getting older (65). My next one will be a step thru. I like the burnt orange color too and the blue is really nice. I assume you just didn't put the front fender on the step thru?
I’m planning to purchase an E-bike so I can go on an epic adventure starting in San Diego and ending up north in Vancouver, WA! I’m planing to bring 2 extra batteries, a trailer for my lite weight tent, pack with supplies like my jet boil, freeze dried food, sleeping bag and I’ll be staying in a hotel for charging… and likely taking my pug, Pebbles! Weather wise, I’m thinking Oct-Nov before heading over the pass in NorCal heading in to OR. I am researching so many of these bikes with reliability being #1, especially as I read more on the motors/transmissions… I just read on ensuring the right amp/voltage controller to get the most out of your system… I can’t wait to do this!
Great review. I have a step through Lectric XP 3.0 E-bike. It’s a good bike but it’s almost too small for me. I’m 58 years old, 6’1” and 200 pounds. The other challenge besides size is I live at the foothills of some big mountains (Wasatch Mountains-Utah). I need an E-bike that can handle a mountain type topography. I was leaning towards the Freedom but the Cruiser makes a lot of sense for my needs. Thanks.
I'm in your "more than 70%" demographic, so this is very good information for me (and you have addressed two of my main questions about the differences between the two versions). Thank you ...that's a like and a sub! Yes, I currently have a 26 x 4" 1000 w Ebike, but it IS difficult for me to get on/off with a rear rack (and I definitely can't load that rack up with everything I usually carry on my folding 26 x 1.75" 500 w Ebike). Man, I REALLY wanted the 2024 Wired Freedom with the newly designed rear suspension, but you're also right that I want to pack a LOT of stuff on the rear rack. So I appreciate you confirming that the rear suspension DOES make a difference (kinda figured but I'm glad you confirmed it). I also like the look of the Freedom vs the Cruiser. However... I also appreciate that you've helped me to give more consideration for the Cruiser's step-through design because it may still be my better bet for making my very long rides more enjoyable overall (even without the rear suspension). Dang, decisions decisions! All that said, I have a couple of questions you didn't address in this video... 1) Are they basically the same weight? (Re; I hope the step-through weighs at least a bit less than the standard version ...because lifting a 76 lb. bike -- without the battery -- into my SUV would NOT be fun for me.) 2) I know the standard version does not have a quick release on the front wheel (which I would like to have for getting it in/out of my SUV). In this video, it kinda looks like the step-through version does! So, does the Cruiser have a quick release on the front wheel? 3) Do you happen to know if the 2024 Cruiser has the new/larger chain ring (with more teeth), like the 2024 Freedom does? Again, thanks for addressing several of the things I wanted to know about the Cruiser vs the Freedom versions and I look forward to hearing your response to my other questions above.
Two thumbs up 👍👍 A Wired Freedom, eBike Review done right. An all inclusive breakdown of the Specs, Quality, performance and exactly what to expect as a perteniial rider . This video, is Exactly what I was looking for and needed. The video Host, is one smooth operator and not only do I appreciate him but his demeanor is very likeable as well. My kind of CitizenCycle Thank you!✌😎
great vid again so i have both bikes my wife is 5,4 and she handles the cruiser like nothing i also live near Pittsburg with lots of big hills and these bikes eat them up again great vid
I just received my Freedom bike last week (I believe it's the 3rd version now) and I must say this thing is a beast for its price! Your videos have been very helpful and this comparison is great. Even though it would have been nice to see it a month ago when I ordered the bike, I still would choose the Freedom for its full suspension (plus I think it is cooler looking than the step thru style). I got mine in the Titan (burnt orange) paint scheme and I must say I originally thought it was going to be a matte because of Wired's web site rendition of it. When I first saw it with a gloss I stepped back and was "Oh No!" But seriously within one second later I realized how sharp it looks. (Just a note: the lettering is decals, but it's under the clear coat so it's very smooth and they won't accidentally peal, but this means you can't easily remove them if you don't want them either.) A good note for the settings: I like to have the Throttle available all the time and use PAS 1-5 as needed. between your video and the manual, it's a little confusing how to set the controller for this combination, but after playing around a bit I found setting "C4" to 3 made this bike work right for me. Another note: I'm used to riding beach cruiser style bikes, so I found the distance between the seat and handlebars felt a bit tight. But after getting a set back seat post and a nice springy seat and with the handlebars, just ever so slightly forward, it's fitting my ride style nicely. And one last note: I noticed Wired has been making small changes ever since they started making this bike I.E.: better controller, better brakes, different head light. The latest I've notice is the rack is on its possible third change for the Freedom, but I like it because it is sportier and lower, also the rear fender now mounts to the rack, so it does not flop around like it used to.
In my 20s but I still prefer the cruiser style. Sure full suspension is nice but i'm not doing extreme downhill mountain biking. The fat tires will be good enough for pavement and gravel. Definitely going to pick up the Cruiser version sometime soon.
I prefer a hard tail to suspension myself. Less to go wrong, less maintenance down the road changing a shock, less weight. Honestly i wish they did this with 26x3 inch wide tires for better handling and pedaling, and without a suspension fork. That way uts lighter and more nimble. Bonus points if the add a place to mount a front rack/basket to the frame
Another good video thank you. I think these bikes are definitely the best bang for the performance dollar. And you get very good range to if you ride conservatively. I have the first generation of this bike.
Great information Brother! I'm 65 years old but have no hip issues but still I would prefer not swinging my leg over the whole bike!!! We use to say a step thru was for girls only but times have changed with the Ebikes out there today! A step thru is for easy mounting as we have grown older and would definetly like a bike that can carry us to town and back without suffering pain the next day!!! LOL Great Video!!
Awesome Video! Great Comparison between Freedom and Cruiser! I’m glad I chose the Cruiser! And if the seat isn’t as comfortable as I want it I’ll go with one of those plush spring seats you mentioned in this video. If you have a good recommendation/brand on a particular plush seat with springs let me know, thanks!
I'm looking for Wired to come out with a 20 inch fast monster machine. I own a Rip current 1000 watt Juiced bike and like the Rip Racer. I think this company will come out with a very cool 20 inch bike, . That will blow the Rip Racer away. If you have any knowledge of this, please let me know. Love the channel!
A 60v moped style bike would be very popular, both rear wheel drive and awd. You would need a least a 40ah 60v battery which would be very $$$ as the battery is probably the most expensive part of the bike. It would be interesting if they could hit a $2500-$3000 price point. I have no idea if they have one in the works, but it’s a logical next step.
I was excited when this bike first came out and wanted to get one to replace my Kepler. But it doesn't have mounts for a front rack. I like to have a cooler on the front for fast food or groceries. Still a nice bike, just doesn't match my needs.
I prefer a step through because I often haul stuff home on the rear rack. Why didn't you demonstrate step up on the left pedal mounting technique?🤔 Grab both hand grips, get the bike moving forward slightly, step on the left pedal and swing the right leg over
My family already has 3 ebikes, including my son's Wired Cruiser. I love it except for the "wiggly" frame which feels unsafe at high speeds or on trails, so was going to buy the Freedom for myself as an all-purpose bike. The Cruiser needs to add a more substantial brace in the vee to stiffen the frame. When I went to place the order for the Freedom there is a default $75 charge for package protection (By Deselecting Shipping Protection, we will not be liable for damaged, lost or stolen packages!). They ship by UPS (and it costs $200). This irks me so badly I have not yet pulled the trigger on the purchase,
So 75+200, basically 2274? While other companies doing free shipping, I still prefer velotric nomad 1 since now it’s $874 cheaper, comes free shipping and has UL certification. I don’t need the super high speed version which is basically a moped instead of an e-bike.
Hey Bryan another awesome video. Thank you for all you do. I ordered the Wired Freedom but with my bad back and after watching this video I might change my order to a cruiser. Thanks again 😊

Always excellent content, my friend. Aside from the great value and excellent speed, the customer service has been exceptional as well. I've put roughly 100 hard (road and trail) miles on my Freedom and it's held up well. One word of advice for owners is to tune down the power settings when doing trail and leave the crotch rocket speeds for road work. Given the unstable ground and twitchy throttle, it can catch out new owners (as it did me) and cause injuries.
The new V3 Freedom now shipping is even better than the V1 Freedom you have. Slightly longer frame creates plenty of clearance allowing for an even better ride. New rear fender that is securely attached to a new rack. A 11 cog and Acera derailleur have also been added. Agree with you 100% that most older riders would be better served with a step thru particularly if you are tall enough for a suntour suspension seatpost.
So nice when you get something that dramatically exceeds your already high expectations! Word of advice, never start in pedal assist 3 or higher and be careful of the throttle.
I have been lead to believe 11-34 but don't quote me on that. I have seen a cassette that was like you say but not sure if it's custom or not. @@larryheaton689
You may have to bite the bullet and pre order if you want the bike. Their November batch will sell out before it arrives and then it will be January or February. Maybe someone else will come out with a comparable 60v full suspension bike for $2000 but you’d have to wait for that too if and when it comes to market. You could always get a 48 or 52v bike, but they are severely lacking in power and performance compared to 60v.
They bring in batches from China, then revise things, then order more... You're actually getting a better bike by waiting as it's just like the early adopters of Tesla's that loved it but the later buyers got a better version.
I love my bike. Good video with comparison of the two. Question for you. I have 2 wired bikes, now I need a bike rack. What would your suggestion be? Traveling cross country, can’t cheap out.
I have 2 wired bikes. I also have 2 ariel kepler also has 1000 watts except the kepler is currently 1799 and free shipping. Both bikes go about 36 mph. Kepler is also great choice and less money. Do you're research before you purchase
Kepler peaks at 1800 watts, Wired peaks at 2300 watts. 60v vs 52v. Wired is 3mph faster and much better on hills. Freedom also has full suspension, which makes a big difference. Wired’s battery is 20% larger. Wired has great customer service, Ariel Rider has 4 pages of complaints at the BBB. The Kepler is $400 less expensive when you consider shipping. It is the second best choice for a high power 26x4 fat tire, but the Wired is better on every point.
I got my White Cruiser yesterday! It’s amazing like really amazing and not just how fast it is. Rides so good, so smooth, so ergonomically perfect for my 5’10” 190lb body. Odd that my rear rack is different from you’re cruiser, it’s beefier and mounts different??? Btw I wanted that Titan orange but it was sold out, glad I got white if that’s what gave me the better rear rack for some reason. I can send you a pic if you want?
the v-3 shipping now are slightly different. better drive train and better larger rack. the freedom frame has been redesigned and lengthened. getting mine this week I HOPE!
@@timothywarehime5956 That’s another thing I was pleasantly surprised by, my bike came with the Altus derailleur/double sided chain guard and I saw the previous batches had the Tourney derailleur. My drivetrain has worked perfectly out the box, first bike I’ve had that with.. My only complaint is a step through issue I’ve read, the frame is a little “flexy” you can feel the rear end wobble back and forth when maneuvering. Might look into frame stiffening options. It’s nothing horrible just noticeable vs my other non step through bikes.
I got the freedom in black. ups just notified me it will be here tomorrow. i probably won't sleep tonight. that's what i feared with the step through and since i am 6 feet tall went with the freedom. I am sure you can get a top bar for hauling on a rack that will stiffen things up. @@FreakyT333
I ordered the White Cruiser as well. Expected arrival in October 🤞 Good to know that you said it rides good, smooth, and ergonomically fit for 5’10” 190lbs since I’m the same stature.
Maybe a dumb question but is the minimum seat height on the Cruiser the same as the Freedom? I'm 5'9" tall but have a bout a 29 inch inseam. (short legs I guess) I'm afraid my legs are not long enough for it. Love your video and the way you speech is cool and calm.
Ive been watching all your videos as well as other videos for bout two weeks now and I am 6'2 280. After watching your videos, I have narrowed it down between this bike and the Himiway Cobra and I'm just torn. Because I want this speed but I'm assuming with my size I'll be more comfortable on a himiway Cobra. I'm also in the market mostly to commute to work and get around Tucson Arizona...but I want the option to go off road and on trails. What do you think would be the best choice for a size like mine?
@timothywarehime5956 part of me just felt that himiway was a more solid brand and that I would have more longevity with himiway. But this wired bike seems to be the best bet I'm starting to realize.
@@CitizenCycle925#1 funny moment is the flat and having to replicate your college cross-country days (9:02 for 3k steeplechase is super impressive), but this outtake was definitely a close #2.
Hey citizen great videos! Are you comfortable voiding the warranty on the bikes you change settings on? Can you work n your own bikes? Is that why? How long do you think a Wired motor and battery will last with wide open settings? Estimate please. I’m not going to ride balls it all the time.
I'm 70 and ordered a Freedom (rather than a cruiser) for late Jan because I want the rear suspension. Can I lay the bike down on it's side and step over it. Then with 1 foot beside the top tube and the other foot beside the bottom tube (which holds the battery) can I then pick the bike up from the ground to upright and be in position to get on. I ride step thru Sondors now.
I've never tried that method, so not sure how easy or difficult it would be. But yes, in general you can lean the bike way far over to help yourself get on. I guess you will find out.!!
The Wired site lists them as exact same weight, but how can this be. I was wondering if the step through had an easier time with speed because it has less frame weight.
Hi I have watched several of your videos and I like how you emphasize getting on and off and sitting on the bike. My question is your 6 foot tall, but what is your inseam..???? It's not how tall you are. It's how long your legs are and I've. watched several where your wife gets on the bikes. What is her inseam???
I'm 61, fit, limber, thinking of getting the one with rear suspension, adding a spring loaded seat, in the burnt orange.. that said, do you think that would be a good choice for me, wondering if the frame is less stiff on the Cruser, and prob a wee bit lighter. wondering your thoughts, thanks for the great video's!! Very helpful!
So funny, Steve was at my house dealing with a controller issue the night before he left to drop off that Cruiser! So I was wondering, did you remove the shielding around the shock, or is that a new shock on the Freedom?
Have you noticed the cruiser having better torque and speed than the freedom? My wifes cruiser showed up first, and I have been riding it for the past week. My freedom showed up yesterday, and I have the settings set the same as my wife's. My wife will take off past me. I feel like my bike has lag before it picks up in speed. I was just wondering if you noticed this?
It's not the weight difference, unfortunately. I have switched, and the cruiser is still quicker. Seems like the cruiser has a faster response in the throttle. I feel more drag in my back wheel on the freedom. I can cruise in p 1 in the grass with eas on the cruiser. On my freedom, I need to turn to p2 in the grass. Or it's alot harder to peddle
They sell the Suntour NCX on their website that is the right size. I think it’s a 27.2 with a shim that makes it slightly wider. The 27.2 fits the Freedom. It is one of the best suspension seat post below $200 and they sell the post for less than Amazon, $90 I think.
I ordered 2 moths ago and have yet to get a tracking number. will probably be tonight or tomorrow. can't wait. coming tomorrow. noon. can't friggin wait.
How are you people getting these bikes I called a couple weeks ago they will not be available until November? They wanted me to pre-order and pay for it currently have a couple of Nomad ones I would really like to try one of these step through ones but I don't want to have to prepay for it
Everyone who has one has pre ordered and waited from a couple of weeks to several months. They are selling the bike at least $1000 below the fair market value given the competition, which is basically none. Nobody else offers 60v full suspension at anywhere near $2000. A Suron, also 60v is $5k+++. I was hesitant until I saw all the reviews and read all the positive customer service reports. It’s worth the wait!!! You can always ride your 48v bikes until the big boy arrives. They offer a 30 day no stocking fee return and you can cancel and get your money back anytime before final shipping. I guess they could go out of business holding your money but they are selling like hotcakes so it seems very unlikely. If you live near Chicago, you can arrange a test ride.
because i have been waiting for 2 months. good things are worth the wait., it will be here tomorrow mid day and i will be sitting in the front yard waiting.
@@timothywarehime5956 yeah the reviews on that thing or awesome, I was one of those guys that said I'll never own an electric bike then I bought my first to Nomads and then two more and now another two I love them but I really want to feel some power being in the tight beaches area here in Florida no matter what type of electric bike you have these things are awesome
My brother ordered his on May 11 and had to wait till it came on Aug. 23. He got the orange probably because he ordered early before they ran out of the color he wanted. When Steve told him that he couldn't get it until Aug, Steve offered to refund his money to him. He is glad that he waited.
Hi love your videos I ordered my freedom should be getting it any day now ! want to ask you what do you think ? I want to swap out that rear cassette from the high 14T that comes with this bike to the 11T I have 7 ebikes from FLX , RAMBO , IZIP and so on ! living in Chicago need the speed to dodge them bullets LOL ! I beefed the other bikes up there pretty quick , but would like to know your opinion on this bike ??? thanks MIKE
Any thoughts on strength and rigidity vs the 2 frames? I am a heavier rider at 280# and have always worried about step-throughs. I worry they will break or bend easier when hitting bumps. Otherwise I am not against the cruiser design, just worried about that one bar of metal holding it all safely.
if you read all the comments. the step thru seems to have a little flex. I would imagine for heavy riders. I got the freedom because i plan on using this bike hard.
Step through frames do have more flex in them. But the frames are pretty robust. As long as you're not doing crazy things, I wouldn't be worried about breaking it.
Question. Going to convert to AWD soon but being limited in means , I plan to drive both motors off a single 36 volt battery for a month or two. Should I expect a drop in performance other than limiting range? Ultimately I will end up with two systems.
@@CitizenCycle925 thanks for responding. And thanks for your vids. You respect your audience. It's a gift. Decided to forgo a front hub til I can afford a 2nd battery and simply upgrade the controller. Not looking for fast. Just rhe quick.
Can a five foot person ride the freedom or is it better fit for the cruiser? /Also, is that a dual battery on the cruiser? I don't see it on the new model...Thanks..
@NghiaPham-xi5so at 5 ft tall it would be very difficult riding either of these bikes. If you're very confident in athletic I guess it could be done but I typically recommend 5 ft 7 to ride one of these bikes, they are huge. Both of the new models come with dual batteries now
My brother considered the stepthru, but he was more intent on having a rear suspension. He is about 5' 9" and almost 70 and about 250 lbs, but he can get on it pretty well.
Im interested in Buying but hard to decide which one for my Height 5'9, How tall are you I see in video when on orange cruiser taking off that your feet mostly pads are on ground not totally flat on ground but I not sure if you had seat post lowered all the way, Im 61 and wondering if im going to have a hard time lugging my legg over and not have my feet be total planted on ground. Can you reveal your height please.and thanks for the great videos. I ordered the Freedom and hoping I made the right choice, I have a Aventon Adventure step through and been practicing swinging my leg over, it seems if I lean bike at least 20 to 30 percent it much easier getting on bike but you must pull break at same time so bike doesn't move.
hello, i am 6ft tall and i would say i have long legs. I buy 32W x 34L jeans. not issue for me to flat-foot either bike. the 2024 wired cruiser is a big bike though, the seat height is about 35inches from ground to top of seat. the rear suspension sags a little when you sit down so i would anticipate that at 5'9'' you are going to be on the balls of your feet at a stop. i have an Aventon Aventure .2 also and the Freedom feels much bigger.
I think they are IPX5. Another TH-camr drove one into the ocean accidentally with no ill effect. I have rode in the rain although I put a plastic baggie around the display to be safe. The battery is well protected by design and all the connections on the bottom have waterproof connectors. My display has fogged occasionally so I try and protect it from rain. The rest of the bike seems pretty water resistant.
I have a question for you. I have a wired cruiser and it has a nasty speed wobble. Like if I take any pressure off the handle bars, this thing wants to Buck. Is this normal behavior for 4" fat tires or is there an issue with he frame design on this bike?
That is not normal, you may need to have your wheel trued. Alternatively, your headset that locks your fork into the frame may need to be tightened, it’s under the black plastic cap. Google headset tightening, super easy to do. If your wheel needs to be trued, any bike shop can do it in 20 minutes.
@@jfly2249 thanks for response. The wheel looks true when Im just spinning it. Bikes a week old so I cant imagine wired would have sent a wheel out of spec. headset may be the culprit. Edit: the bolt was freely loose under that little cap. I feel lucky nothing happened. Thanks for the suggestion.
I would say the bike is gonna feel big for you both So as long as you're okay with that. It depends on how long your legs are, but When sitting on the seat, you won't be able to put your feet flat on the ground.

Haha I almost included a clip of dismounting in an emergency on a hilly trail... Probably should have put that in.🤣
@@CitizenCycle925 I've been mountain biking for years with many "saves" and a few "fails." The wife has zero experience with on trail "situations".....so I will keep her out of those situations until she's ready.
Good to know that you have both bikes and compared them side by side along with Bryan,(citizen)
Another person comparing both is just more info I like to read!
I totally agree about the added height of additional things on the rack and adding a suspension seat post.
I am 76 and have done both.
I never thought about the suspension seat post adding too much height. My inseam isnt that long
You forgot to mention the gearing….the new batch of freedoms/cruisers come with an 11 tooth freewheel…that makes a big difference….
And thank you for looking out for your Dad. ...Keep peddling with God! ...Chappy
Excellent video on the Wired E-Bikes. No one does them better than you ...... Thanks!
Wow, thanks!
Liked the out-takes at the end
Excellent video and comparison for us old folks ! 👍
Good speed..good range..good price..is what people want..
You are spot on with your advice. It's getting harder for me to get on and off the high bar ebike as I'm getting older (65). My next one will be a step thru. I like the burnt orange color too and the blue is really nice. I assume you just didn't put the front fender on the step thru?
Yes, comes with fender just forgot to put on for the video
There are some great options out there as well for hydraulic / cushion loaded seat posts.
Man I was hoping you would have got the newest release cruiser with the Samsung battery and the different rear rack.
I would guess he will have it soon to show. seems wired likes selling lots and lots of bikes. tail happy will probably have one too.
There is a new one?
Absolutely great review video my guy!! Bless you brother!! Keep letting your light shine bright!!
I appreciate that
Great review. Thanks.
i live near Pittsburgh lots of big hills this bike eats them up so if you can get one of these you will love it
Great value the bike hits everything that's important for a great price!! Wired rules!!!
(Re; I hope the step-through weighs at least a bit less than the standard version ...because lifting a 76 lb. bike -- without the battery -- into my SUV would NOT be fun for me.)
2) I know the standard version does not have a quick release on the front wheel (which I would like to have for getting it in/out of my SUV).
Always value you vids and you will always be my go to for ebike analysis !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m 55 and I ride a standard hybrid just like the freedom. Give me the freedom! 💥
I took your advice and got a white step through. Spring saddle. Thanks for your videos.
That is awesome!
Wow thank you!!! Glad the video was helpful
@@CitizenCycle925 , the videos are great because you make them so entertaining. Thank you ✌😎
great vid again so i have both bikes my wife is 5,4 and she handles the cruiser like nothing i also live near Pittsburg with lots of big hills and these bikes eat them up again great vid
(Just a note: the lettering is decals, but it's under the clear coat so it's very smooth and they won't accidentally peal, but this means you can't easily remove them if you don't want them either.)
A good note for the settings: I like to have the Throttle available all the time and use PAS 1-5 as needed. between your video and the manual, it's a little confusing how to set the controller for this combination, but after playing around a bit I found setting "C4" to 3 made this bike work right for me.
Thanks for all the updates, enjoy!
Why not discard the battery while you are at it to save even more weight? LOL!
The shock can be changed in 5-10 minutes.
Not much maintenance there.
You could probably change out the 4 inch tires for 3 or 3.5 if you want to.
LOL Great Video!!
yep, these bikes are big and once you add the rear bag it gets tough!

Ok cool thanks 👍
Thanks for covering the real life use stuff.
You bet!
I was excited when this bike first came out and wanted to get one to replace my Kepler. But it doesn't have mounts for a front rack. I like to have a cooler on the front for fast food or groceries. Still a nice bike, just doesn't match my needs.
I ordered a Freedom and Cruiser, I would like to figure out a front rack for the Cruiser as well.
i just got the front basket whitch is pretty darned nice. it arrived in 2 days. still waiting for the steed it goes on.
Nice, can't wait to see it. Which one did you get?
@@timothywarehime5956
I prefer a step through because I often haul stuff home on the rear rack.
Why didn't you demonstrate step up on the left pedal mounting technique?🤔
Grab both hand grips, get the bike moving forward slightly, step on the left pedal and swing the right leg over
@@kmkhr It's a technic for mounting the bike. I explained above how to do it.
How does the 2000Watt step do on the hill test? Also, which is better for the hill climb, the Fabulous double 750w motor or the 2000w Wired bike?
My family already has 3 ebikes, including my son's Wired Cruiser. I love it except for the "wiggly" frame which feels unsafe at high speeds or on trails, so was going to buy the Freedom for myself as an all-purpose bike. The Cruiser needs to add a more substantial brace in the vee to stiffen the frame. When I went to place the order for the Freedom there is a default $75 charge for package protection (By Deselecting Shipping Protection, we will not be liable for damaged, lost or stolen packages!). They ship by UPS (and it costs $200). This irks me so badly I have not yet pulled the trigger on the purchase,
Hang on, labor day promo coming out soon.
So 75+200, basically 2274? While other companies doing free shipping, I still prefer velotric nomad 1 since now it’s $874 cheaper, comes free shipping and has UL certification. I don’t need the super high speed version which is basically a moped instead of an e-bike.
Cost $250 each bike to ship to NV 😮
The location of the battery on the step thru kind of makes it harder to put your leg thru it.
Same as my Kepler. Mid step is not that low to get on. Doable but not at all like a step through.
Hey Bryan another awesome video. Thank you for all you do. I ordered the Wired Freedom but with my bad back and after watching this video I might change my order to a cruiser. Thanks again 😊
Might be a good idea. I put a soft spring loaded seat on miy cruiser and it helped a ton.

Fixed thanks!!
Do you know if they have a veteran discount?
Always excellent content, my friend. Aside from the great value and excellent speed, the customer service has been exceptional as well. I've put roughly 100 hard (road and trail) miles on my Freedom and it's held up well. One word of advice for owners is to tune down the power settings when doing trail and leave the crotch rocket speeds for road work. Given the unstable ground and twitchy throttle, it can catch out new owners (as it did me) and cause injuries.
Great review! Had I seen this vid before I got the Freedom, I would’ve chosen the step through. My wife said I look like a midget on the Freedom 😂
I found photo's on reddit of the new v-3. wow. looks really awesome. these last few days of waiting are excruciating. lol.
So nice when you get something that dramatically exceeds your already high expectations! Word of advice, never start in pedal assist 3 or higher and be careful of the throttle.
What is the 11 cog Acera tooth range? I'm hoping it has a very wide range like 11 to 51 tooth for steep long climbing and then long downhills.
I have been lead to believe 11-34 but don't quote me on that. I have seen a cassette that was like you say but not sure if it's custom or not.

i guess i could ask wired they always reply.@@larryheaton689
I really wish I could purchase a wired freedom but unfortunately they're not available until mid-november?
You may have to bite the bullet and pre order if you want the bike. Their November batch will sell out before it arrives and then it will be January or February. Maybe someone else will come out with a comparable 60v full suspension bike for $2000 but you’d have to wait for that too if and when it comes to market. You could always get a 48 or 52v bike, but they are severely lacking in power and performance compared to 60v.
They bring in batches from China, then revise things, then order more... You're actually getting a better bike by waiting as it's just like the early adopters of Tesla's that loved it but the later buyers got a better version.
So glad I found this review. Looking forward to my first e bike purchase. Let Freedom ring!
Your our go to ”wicked dude"
Awesome thanks Exactly the video I was looking for
Glad you liked!
Would be nice if the bike come with smaller tires for use short people or another style with the same power and set up
I got my White Cruiser yesterday!
@@timothywarehime5956
That’s another thing I was pleasantly surprised by, my bike came with the Altus derailleur/double sided chain guard and I saw the previous batches had the Tourney derailleur.

I ordered the White Cruiser as well. Expected arrival in October 🤞
Good to know that you said it rides good, smooth, and ergonomically fit for 5’10” 190lbs since I’m the same stature.
@FreakyT333
I’m curious to know how fast (top speed) you got your Cruiser going?
Maybe a dumb question but is the minimum seat height on the Cruiser the same as the Freedom? I'm 5'9" tall but have a bout a 29 inch inseam. (short legs I guess) I'm afraid my legs are not long enough for it. Love your video and the way you speech is cool and calm.
Good comparison.
Is it prewired for lamps, blinkers?
Ive been watching all your videos as well as other videos for bout two weeks now and I am 6'2 280. After watching your videos, I have narrowed it down between this bike and the Himiway Cobra and I'm just torn. Because I want this speed but I'm assuming with my size I'll be more comfortable on a himiway Cobra. I'm also in the market mostly to commute to work and get around Tucson Arizona...but I want the option to go off road and on trails. What do you think would be the best choice for a size like mine?
the wired is a big bike. I have the freedom and it is a beast. certainly big enough for you. I'm 6'1 230.
@timothywarehime5956 part of me just felt that himiway was a more solid brand and that I would have more longevity with himiway. But this wired bike seems to be the best bet I'm starting to realize.
When are you going to review the dual battery add on?
Always a great information video, I know how your dad feels I'm pushing 67 lol . Thanks you sir..👍👍🍺
Hi, you should review the "Ado Air 20s"
Thank for the great video! Are the seats comfortable and if not, can the seat be switched out for a softer one?
seats are OK and it's very easy to swap them out if you want.
Now all we need is a foldable step through and a foldable trike! Not much to ask for?😊
Haha, watched to the end..... gotta start a Citizens Bloopers series now ;-)
Haha always a battle finding a quiet spot to record
Can you make a comparison between the GTX and the Wired freedom for me please?
Nice video. Is it cadence or torque? And what is the height from ground to the top of pedal at the top of the stroke? Thanks
Hi I have watched several of your videos and I like how you emphasize getting on and off and sitting on the bike. My question is your 6 foot tall, but what is your inseam..????
It's not how tall you are. It's how long your legs are
and I've. watched several where your wife gets on the bikes. What is her inseam???
I've asked this inseam question on several of his videos. He never answers. It sure would be a help if he did ..... wife's inseam?
I'm 61, fit, limber, thinking of getting the one with rear suspension, adding a spring loaded seat, in the burnt orange.. that said, do you think that would be a good choice for me, wondering if the frame is less stiff on the Cruser, and prob a wee bit lighter. wondering your thoughts, thanks for the great video's!! Very helpful!
At a limber 6'1" You should be fine with the full suspension bike, and you probably won't even need the spring seat.
There is plenty of room to step through the step through version
So funny, Steve was at my house dealing with a controller issue the night before he left to drop off that Cruiser! So I was wondering, did you remove the shielding around the shock, or is that a new shock on the Freedom?
I didn't remove anything from shock, that is the new one they are using. Steve did tell me he replaced a controller locally, now I know who 😁
If you have the freedom and find it hard to mount...just lean the bike in towards you...and step over....piece of cake. No superman act required.
I was just wondering if you noticed this?
do you weigh more than your wife?
Most likely just weight distribution. Lighter riders go faster.
@@gamerkid3030make sure c14 is the same between bikes
What size seat post suspension will I need for my cruiser??
They sell the Suntour NCX on their website that is the right size. I think it’s a 27.2 with a shim that makes it slightly wider. The 27.2 fits the Freedom. It is one of the best suspension seat post below $200 and they sell the post for less than Amazon, $90 I think.
@@jfly2249 Awesome thanks!!

Do these bikes have a torque sensor?
I noticed that the two bikes chain ring were double sided. Do they come that way or did you add them after the fact?
came that way but the newer 2024 versions have single sided chainrings.

@@dixienormis3614 Are you sure.
I remember hearing on a video that they were manufactured by a Canadian company.
The frames are built like a tank I can’t imagine how much abuse they can take but I’m sure your spine will break before the frame.
if you read all the comments. the step thru seems to have a little flex. I would imagine for heavy riders. I got the freedom because i plan on using this bike hard.
Step through frames do have more flex in them. But the frames are pretty robust. As long as you're not doing crazy things, I wouldn't be worried about breaking it.
Fingers crossed for them to come out with a Super73/Bandit style bike!
I would buy that so fast 💨
Question. Going to convert to AWD soon but being limited in means , I plan to drive both motors off a single 36 volt battery for a month or two. Should I expect a drop in performance other than limiting range? Ultimately I will end up with two systems.
Trying to run 2 motors off of 1 single 36 V battery might be tough, you may exceed the discharge rate of the battery...
Both of the new models come with dual batteries now
@@CitizenCycle925 When i look at the cruiser model, it looks like i can put my feet on the ground , is it taller then it looks on the video? Thanks
Is there a thinner tire version rather then fat tires ?
no thinner tire version but you could put 3.5in tires on the rim no problem.
Most guys will struggle with your blue Freedom bike and avoid the "girls bike" step through cruiser. It's a shame we live in these times.
I choose comfort over labels.
When you get close to 50 like me, you really could care less what people think and you chose what is most comfortable for yourself.
Whats a "girl"? Yes, crazy times we live in now.
@@CarlosGonzalez-hg1xm Especially considering how heavy these E-Bikes are now. 70-110 lbs are the norm.
My brother considered the stepthru, but he was more intent on having a rear suspension.
He is about 5' 9" and almost 70 and about 250 lbs, but he can get on it pretty well.
I hear that Wired does not ship to Canada ? 😢
unfortunately not, USA only
Im interested in Buying but hard to decide which one for my Height 5'9, How tall are you I see in video when on orange cruiser taking off that your feet mostly pads are on ground not totally flat on ground but I not sure if you had seat post lowered all the way, Im 61 and wondering if im going to have a hard time lugging my legg over and not have my feet be total planted on ground.
@@CitizenCycle925 ok thank you and keep on making more great videos
Do you think that rack could support a 50lb child? I'm looking at other bikes that can but I like this bike.
most rear racks are rated for about 50lbs, so you would be at the max capacity.
Why don't the cruiser have fender on the front
just didn't put it on but it does come with one.
Does somebody know what is the IP rating (water resistance) on these bikes? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
@HopFilms wow, Glad you gotta figure it out. Did that correct the wobble? I have not had that issue.
@@CitizenCycle925 It did. I can now set cruise control and hold my beer. lol
Glad that worked. It was pretty dangerous loose. I think Steve should buy us both a beer.
How can I purchase your Wired Freedom?
well my dad has the orange one, i still have the blue, if you live local in NC i may consider. definitely not shipping it though
can you get this bike in a gates belt drive one gear?
Nope
Why no front fender on the cruiser?
Just forgot to put it on for the video.
My husband and I are both 5’6 160 pounds. Do you think we are too short for the Freedom? Hubby doesn’t want the “girls” model. 😮
I would say the bike is gonna feel big for you both So as long as you're okay with that. It depends on how long your legs are, but When sitting on the seat, you won't be able to put your feet flat on the ground.
What is the wheelbase between center of wheels?
on the new 2024 Freedom it looks to be 49.5 inches.
@@CitizenCycle925 thanks for the info!
