3 Polymath Personality Traits You MUST Nurture & Amplify [Here's How]

  • Recently two things happened.
First, someone told me... "You're not a polymath!"
Second, someone asked... "Could you say more about the traits that go into being a polymath?"
Strangely, the person accusing me that I'm not a polymath was using an anonymous screen name. So I'll admit that I went on a bit of rant about that in this episode of the Magnetic Memory Method Podcast.
And I put in a video of myself playing music at the end... just because, you know... being able to do these things and demonstrate it matters.
In any case, there are 3 key polymath personality traits you probably already have.
You just need to find and nurture them. As you go, this detailed tutorial on how to be a polymath will help:

Amazing video! Very informative and full of insight. Seriously, the number of views doesn't do it justice 😕.
Hope you're making good progress on your current projects Anthony. I'm so excited about Vitamin X, TVM part deux and the new book on Bruno particularly.

      Thanks for stopping by!
All these projects are indeed underway. I think I am close to having the opening of Vitamin X just right. It's one of the few projects I am precious about, but one must follow both the artistic and the pedagogic instincts into the aesthetic philosophy that wants to swirl around its core.

      @@magneticmemorymethodpodcastMy pleasure!
I'm delighted to hear about the progress on Vitamin X and wishing you good luck for the remaining efforts to bring it to us. Consider my order already placed!

The prologue is almost right. Then comes chapter one, and chapter two and... It's starting to turn into the book I was hoping for, even if slowly. Thanks so much for your interest and support. It is especially heartening given how ambitious the project is and how much heat my ego puts on making it the "best" it can be.

A truly great question I know I have pondered it a lot.

Pondering it is indeed critical for ongoing progress.

And, he ends the essay with a electric bass performance. Im sold! Breaking plateaus in my bass playing and general musicianship is one of many streams i am working on, so you have clearly targeted me. Haha!

I had a feeling adding a little extra bit of "polymath proof" would be a good thing.
What kind of bass do you play? Any current styles of music you're studying?

@magneticmemorymethodpodcast I've got a Tobias 5 string. Really fundamentally a rock player with proggy/jazzy leanings. Just trying to develop my fretboard knowledge, chops, and become a reliable player who can instantly bring what he hears in his head out of his fingers.

That must be a very nice bass to own.
I do a bit of prog too. I've been listening a lot of King Crimson lately, but haven't learned anything yet. I've also worked on Dream Theater songs a bit.
This was the last band I played in, if you're interested:
