They knew how it would elicit the feeling you would put into words. Mind, it's not perfect. It's intentionally rough scratchy and human. Yeah, it's insane. Can music be made as popular with this organic approach ever again? I hope so.

I consider myself lucky to have grown up with all shapes and forms of modern music and am a dedicated supporter of Massive Attack in their many incarnations. I also dabble in playing the 4 string bass and when I try to replicate the sound in this performance have to slacken off the strings so far that I think they will fall off! :) Good luck and happy listening.
