Their opponent was the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team that had won 2 Super Bowl's in the previous 5 years. The Packers got off to an early lead and never looked back, notching a 31-25 victory which awarded the team its 4th Super Bowl title. The game also solidified Aaron Rodgers as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, and allowed him to step out of the shadow of Brett Favre.

    I didn't get to see the end of this game live. I had an overnight shift that was starting right as my Steelers were about to get the ball for one last drive. I'd seen them pull it off before, so I remember listening to the radio on the drive in and then racing into the building decked out in my Steelers gear pleading with my supervisor to turn on the radio so I could catch the end. The result of the 4th down play met my ears and made for a long and sad night, lol. Living in Browns' country, I had a feeling I was in for a night of ridicule, but I had some great coworkers, and they saved it for when it was a little less fresh, haha. Sad how it ended, but it was an exciting game. Honestly blessed that I've been able to see my team play in four of them in my lifetime so far (but would love to see more someday).

    I remember after Super Bowl XLV there was some big talk of the Packers becoming the next big football dynasty of the 10's, and why not? They had all the pieces. Aaron Rodgers was 27 and had come into his own, the Packers were young and stacked, they had a good defense led by Clay Matthews and Mike McCarthy looked like he was ready to take the next step on the Pantheon of coaches. The stratosphere looked to be the limit for these Packers.

    I’m a cowboys fan and this super bowl was one of my all time favorites. You had two historically great franchises going at it. A legend and an up and coming superstar (though he balled out the previous) season in qbs. The stacked offenses especially by Pittsburgh. Then the defenses especially by Pittsburgh. You would think Pittsburgh would cruise by to beat gb but what a fight till the very end by gb.

    Odd that in the Rodgers/McCarthy era, the Packers have had probably 4 or 5 teams that were better than this one yet this was the one that won their only Super Bowl title.

    • @joeruiz4010
      @joeruiz4010 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      walterlv01: The 2011 and 2014 teams were "better", but the 2011 team only had a pass-happy, finesse offense, with nothing else going for it. The 2010 Packers (The Superbowl Championship Team) had the best Defense overall, but the best team was the 2014 unit. Both 2011 and 2014 were "lost seasons" for the Packers.

      At least Sanders still looks good and doesn't have his head up his ass! Really though, Nelson, Jennings, Driver, Jones versus Ward, Sanders, Brown, Wallace.... just an all-time great match up of HOF caliber receivers. Not to mention #12 & #7.

  • @Dustomatic

    The defensive sets Green Bay used in this game were crazy. 2, 1, sometimes zero down linemen, games up and down the line almost every play, different players rushing constantly.

      Most of the games are being uploaded around rematches or specific events that can tie into the game. There will be at least 3 games uploaded each Friday, but some weeks will have 4 or 5 depending on the amount of rematches relating to the games.
