I also remember how hard it was to watch a Steelers game back then; tickets were hard to come by unless you had season tickets which were kept in the family and willed from father to son. The TV blackout rules back then made it impossible to watch on TV anywhere close to Pgh, and this was long before Sat TV, streaming TV and the internet. Only 1997 broncos one is better when elway finally won on broncos channel
I became a Steeler fan at 5 years old in 1977. I ordered a chocolate sunday from the local Orange Julius. The sunday was served in an upside down Steelers helmet. This was the beginning of a 47 year love hate relationship. I wouldn't change it for the world. I don't have the helmet anymore, but to this day, whenever I'm asked how I became a Steelers fan, I tell them Orange Julius.
Those raiders games true definition of smashmouth football crazy some Steelers say the best team was 1976 just had bad luck with injuries in that AFC championship
2024. I'm 44 years old. I missed the 70s by my mom too young to bring me here yet 😂😂😂😂
But my 12 year old (he fights Kyokushin sunce he was 4 and trying basketball too late 😂) but my son asked me today why I liked football so much. Born and raised Wilkinsburg and Homewood 90s. Successful in Vegas since 2003 as a veteran. I came to this video to help. But nahhhh lol. So hard to explain to my boy born in Golden Nights and Las Vegas Aces era, why I love football so much but never played 😂😂😂. My son bled for his sport. He doesn't understand why I fake bleed for mine 💯✌🏽
The Pittsburgh Steelers 🖤💛 Is The Greatest Dynasty Football Team In NFL History Winning 6 Super Bowl Championships🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆In The 70s And 2 Times In 2005 And 2008.
And nothing since 2008
#steelers 🏈💪🏼
Great professional players, no matter what the sport, always want to play they inherently never are satisfied "ridding the bench"...that will and desire is what makes those players best of all time.
I have that Sports Illustrated ! Very coveted piece of a small Steelers collectibles.
Feel bad for purple people eaters
A teenager in the 1970's the Steelers were the kings.
I’m a Bengals fan and I have no love for the modern Steelers. Yet those 70’s Steelers were the best football teams ever. No apologies.
GET 97 AND 90 AND 9 to #7
Now, this is just a hypothetical situation, nothing more. But during this season, when Terry Bradshaw wanted to get traded. Let's say we did do it. We traded him to New Orleans an exchange for Archie Manning. What does Steelers still have won for Super Bowls, or could you have won more.
The day "the juice" got squeezed. 😂😂😂😂😂
Yup
Gilliam was benched after going 4-1-1 in late October, kinda eerie given whats happening Sunday.
Gilliam, pronunced Gillam
This will be the same story of the 2024 Steelers
Super bowl 59 champions
Have to get there, first things first
This was smashmouth era
RIP MY GIANTS TODAY IN PITTSBURGH
Biggest moment in Steeler history was when one Doctor said to the other one - What would happen if we gave Rocky's Magic Recovery Medicine to a healthy player ??
The only real Dynasty in Football all done with pain Blood sweet and tears… no BS Rules or little flags to save the day
Feel bad for purple people eaters
We need a proper Rooney at the helm.
Art isn't getting it done. 😒🙄🙃😐
The Vikings never had a chance...
Sad but true as Metallica would say lol
RIP Franco Harris
👍👍✊️🙏🙌👏🔥
3:03 THEY TOOK HIS JERB!
* 1979 HOU WR M. Renfro TD
Whether TD or not, Steelers were still going to win the that game and the Super Bowl that year
Its Gonna be a street fight
I was going to watch this until you showed Tomlin on the introduction
You missed a good show...all pre-Tomlin, so...your loss.
The Steelers are going to wear their black jerseys to celebrate the 1st Super Bowl team. I wish they would wear the white jerseys to really honor that team. But I guess it’s against the Steeler Law to wear white jerseys at home.
No it isn't.
The Chargers wore their visiting jersey to make the Steelers wear black.
They did that from 1966-1969 at old Pitt Stadium 🏟️
@@SteelerSteveIf you're talking about their meeting in1979 where the Chargers won 35-7 white was what the Chargers were wearing at home for every game
@michaelleroy9281 no, when Ladaniel and Troy played. The Nike commercial
Vikings, only team to have no offensive points on the board.
Feel bad for those teams
if you're from pittsburgh please vote trump
this is about your family, your future, and humanity
choose wisely
Ugh, can we just enjoy football? Ffs...
You are not a morally serious person
Keep politics out of sports
@@robertacampbell5382people forget how good chuck foreman was that year
🎉 Trump 2025!! he won!🎉
I have the best profile pic on youtube for Steeler fans.
Be so glad when elections are over! So so tired of watching brainwashed people praising Cackling Kamala and can't skip the add!! These adds are ruining my watching pleasure of the greatest football team ever!!!
The hell with Kamala, she lost this is about the 1974 Steelers, WTH does she have to do with this
Poor vikings fans lol
Hate to say it cuz I’m a Lakers fan but the greatest dynasty of all sports is the Boston Celtics
Football creates basketball players
Dude gtfoh. He crazy great.
This teams far from superbowl bound but luck does happen they need 4 games in a row to go they're way for that and I just don't see it. Mahomes, burrow, Allen will dice our d in half. Diehard just not a tryhard fan be realistic to how bad our offense is passing
This is a celebration of the 74 team. Give it a rest!
What the hell do Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow have to do with the 1974 Steelers, I see this all the time, someone comparing the game in 1974 to 2024 with irrelevant issues
To bad the Steelers will never win another Superbowl as long as coach clown Tomlin is still unfortunately coaching
This is about 1974 not about 2024
