Also it's possible the conduit gene wasn't dominant in some people and skipped them but reappeared in their descendants. If this incorrect forgive me I don't know much about genetics.
inFAMOUS SECOND SON has kinda let me down. I love the updated graphics and everything that they did with the lighting but everything else, especially story wise, pales in comparison to the first two instalments of the game. inFAMOUS 2 was so much richer: the consequences of Cole’s good/evil decisions were more profound and behind each choice there was a realistic motivation; the missions were more varied, with several factions to face and numerous enemy types to fight, not to mention the abundant and interesting boss fights; the map was more developed, providing very different battlegrounds as the story progressed; Cole’s powers also allowed for a more customisable and tactical fighting experience, one that allowed you to interact with and weaponise the environment, using it to your advantage.
they spent so long on the graphics everything else was subpar, I hope that if a sequel comes out it will be better, I watched a pair of videos by PositivelyNegative and saw what he wanted for the new game, and I whole-heartedly agree with hjim, I recommend you check them out.
For that reason alone I am glad this game comes out on Friday, that way I can let infamous second son consume my life without having to worry about work getting in the way.
Infamous 1 was the shit for me. I mean I never played a free roaming super hero game like that since Spiderman. Plus the story was really great, the comic book style cutscenes were cool. I passed on Infamous 2, but can't wait to play second son.

Okay one major problem with this: in the game Cole states that the RFI wont just kill lots of conduits, it will kill ALL conduits. It even shows at the end of the game, people on the other side of the planet dropping dead, who didn't even know they were conduits... So how can Second Son take place if they're all dead.. I guess they've changed it so not all died, bugs me..
Dr. Wolfe claimed the RFI would kill them all, but never had any proof to back this up. Some people confuse this with the fact that it was proven by Dr. Wolfe.
Sucker Punch themselves stated that the RFI killed most conduits but that only a minority survived it. Also the fact that the RFI would kill all conduits was a hypothesis by Dr. Wolfe and not something that was proven.
If I remember correctly a while ago during an interview or something they said that even though it killed the majority of conduits some with a stronger conduit gene survived.
I remember watching a video before Second Son came out which theorized the Alden Tate from inFAMOUS 1 would have created another conduit society after Cole basically destroyed the First Sons. It would also give a reason as to why Tate survived inFAMOUS, because there basically no reason to have him live after jumping off of the bridge. I don't think even the comics explained what happened to him.
Originally, the bad side was supposed to be canon by the Devs, but when the second was made they changed it because most people chose to get the good ending.

For those new players just getting into Infamous: You don't really have to play the first two games to understand the story. Also, Cole might be alive since he didn't mention that the boat was struck by lightning right before the ending.

Being a lover of all things Infamous, playing every iteration in every way and now eager to go back and redo it for the good side (yeah, played bad the first time on both games XD) as well as to acquire every single trophy and platinum this epic game, I found this video to be quite entertaining, and it gave a good overhead of the story that was so stunningly narrated that it makes the story I once called just "good" seem far more amazing. Great work here, Greg, and anyone else involved with this video over at IGN. Oh, and I especially love the way it ended. Just a little down that I am not an owner of the PS4 (yet) :( Gotta wait till the summer when I start my job.

The next INFAMOUS game should be a continuation of the evil ending of inFAMOUS 2 where we play as Cole using the Beast's powers and we have an army of conduits
Liamjm The start of 2nd game is neutral to whatever path was taken in the 1st game. The ending of 2nd game as evil is everything you saw in the video except at the end Cole basically becomes the Beast and all the humans are wiped out. Oh and you kill *** and are forced to also kill **** on your path to the dark side. Really good ending that was worth playing through again. The last bit of the game is very different mission/emotions than the good play through.
InFamous side story Spoiler Alert!!! WATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!! I WARNED YOU!!!! its not called infamous evil. its just the infamous side, they played the hero side. in InFamous 2 Cole kills Zeke and Nix, the beast can't fight anymore and gives Cole his powers. Cole will have to clense the plague and reveal the conduit gene from the people who lived.

I never played inFamous but that was due to my only owning a 360. (i've been all xbox since it first released up until now). I always wanted to play though and this video really helps me understand what the hell is going on in the game. 3/21/14 can't wait!

The only down side is that there would be no reason for the morality system because, being a prequel, we already know how its going to end so it wouldn't make sense to allow you to be good or bad. I got a PS4 because of second son a few days ago. It was well worth it. It's a really short game though, but other than that the story's good, gameplay is amazing and not even to mention how epic the graphics are. The game was worth every cent, I'm still playing side missions, and I might play it again for evil karma.

I don't really think that, because games will get optimized better as time goes, developpers will find ways to make games look better with worse hardware, I mean look at infamous one and compare it to some of the latest PS3 games like last of us. I hope that's going to be the same with the PS4

Wait, if Kessler's entire motive was to give Cole his powers early and get him ready to fight the beast and save everyone (including Trish) then why did he kill her in the first game? isn't that undermining everything he worked for in the first place?
I believe because trish was probably a motivating factor not to fight the beast, but of course she is killed by the beast anyway, so if Kesler went back in time and killed trish, I wouldnt make that much of a difference, and also if she were alive then she would have been a distraction.

yeah, some un-activated conduits survived, but I'm pretty sure all activated ones were killed, and then more people started activating

It's not that all are killed, most of them are are killed. I think it's about 90% of the Conduit population

The next INFAMOUS game should be a continuation of the evil ending of inFAMOUS 2 where we play as Cole using the Beast's powers and we have an army of conduits

Liamjm The start of 2nd game is neutral to whatever path was taken in the 1st game. The ending of 2nd game as evil is everything you saw in the video except at the end Cole basically becomes the Beast and all the humans are wiped out.
Oh and you kill *** and are forced to also kill **** on your path to the dark side. Really good ending that was worth playing through again. The last bit of the game is very different mission/emotions than the good play through.

its not called infamous evil. its just the infamous side, they played the hero side. in InFamous 2 Cole kills Zeke and Nix, the beast can't fight anymore and gives Cole his powers. Cole will have to clense the plague and reveal the conduit gene from the people who lived.

I never played inFamous but that was due to my only owning a 360. (i've been all xbox since it first released up until now). I always wanted to play though and this video really helps me understand what the hell is going on in the game. 3/21/14 can't wait!

***** I always thought that would have made a great prequel, tell the story of the how the original Cole went off the deep end and turned into a villain. The only down side is that there would be no reason for the morality system because, being a prequel, we already know how its going to end so it wouldn't make sense to allow you to be good or bad. Or at the very least, make into a comic book mini series or something (preferably by Dark Horse.

Faewulf I think the original was what helped the ps3 live on for some people, since gta4 was definitely not the reason it passed, and since most hero/shooter games were trashy and just copied each other.
I've been putting off infamous series for years due to me playing uncharted,resistance,killzone,god of war,etc.. but I'm finally playing infamous and so far I'm loving it. It's a lot of fun and refreshig

1st game had the better story 2nd much better gameplay hopefully second son will be a mixture of the two

I got a PS4 because of second son a few days ago. It was well worth it. It's a really short game though, but other than that the story's good, gameplay is amazing and not even to mention how epic the graphics are. The game was worth every cent, I'm still playing side missions, and I might play it again for evil karma.
TCTNGaming the fact that infamous second son's graphics really showed how powerful the ps4 is, kinda dissapoints me because it might not take very long to reach the ps4's peak
I don't really think that, because games will get optimized better as time goes, developpers will find ways to make games look better with worse hardware, I mean look at infamous one and compare it to some of the latest PS3 games like last of us. I hope that's going to be the same with the PS4

Actually no o.O the FPS only dropped ones when I did the neon blast thing and there was just too much stuff going on on the screen but other than that works perfectly.

If Kessler is Cole from the future and he had (or tried to save his wife Trish ) and his two kids you guys don't think that those two(or one of those two)kids could've been Delsin do you? I mean think about it
+Adam Turner Except in Kessler's timeline Trish was his wife, but in Cole's timeline Trish died
Wait, if Kessler's entire motive was to give Cole his powers early and get him ready to fight the beast and save everyone (including Trish) then why did he kill her in the first game? isn't that undermining everything he worked for in the first place?
I believe because trish was probably a motivating factor not to fight the beast, but of course she is killed by the beast anyway, so if Kesler went back in time and killed trish, I wouldnt make that much of a difference, and also if she were alive then she would have been a distraction.
Kessler's motivation wasn't to save Trish, but to mold Cole into someone that would put defeating the Beast as higher priority over saving his family.

James Wiebe There was no Kessler in inFAMOUS 2. Just John White, Zeke, and Cole went from first game to 2nd game. Even Moira (or whatever her real name is) was never heard from again after first game.
Watching this really makes me want to replay the first 2 games again.
