Amazing video sir, informative very easy to understand. Are you in the United States? I noticed in your replies that you used km instead of miles. Thanks 👍
Thanks for watching! There is popping/backfire upon deceleration but wouldn’t say that it has affected the overall feel of the bike. low/mid/high throughout power feels normal and no Mil indicator so 👍 cheers.
Nice work! Very helpful for me!! Pls, how many km already when you changed the headers ? And if you changed the air filter on same time or not? Thank you so much!
RidinwithJ ok, mine juste changed from yesterday, and I ordered a BMC race one for replace the stoke one cause now it has 13500km. But people told me if you change the full exhaust you have to at least (if you don’t want to remapping the ecu)put a high air flow filter, don’t know why... I tried yesterday (without new filter)this full system, everything is ok, but little “BANG BANG” sometime when I loosen throttle, do you have the same prob?
Yes they have roughly 4 inches down the top of the header tubes off the cylinder head have begun to turn blue, and the rest of the exhaust has a little golden colour to it. Thanks for watching👍
MrNightpwner thanks for watching! I did not have the bike tuned after the installation but Akrapovic doesn’t require tuning with this particular system on the Z900.
You must get a tune or the bike will run rich. Ecu flash is the best way to go. If you don’t your valves will wear prematurely. The only reason they say it doesn’t need a tune is because they provide a bung for the for the o2 sensor.
@@chrisphillips380 per the manufacturer a tune is not required but recommended to gain the most performance out of the exhaust system. However, if you add a K&N or other high performance air filter then a tune will be necessary.
F0R3V3R M0DDING thanks for watching!! With this particular Akrapovic system there is no need for gaskets beyond what comes with this system, and no leaks the jacketed spring provide quite a bit of force👍
Some folks said that if there is very low mileage on those gaskets that you can reuse the existing ones. However, I would err on the side of caution and replace them with new ones. It cost me $32 for a set of OEM gaskets.
raremetalcaster thanks for watching! The torque wrench I used was a 3/8 drive. www.princessauto.com/en/detail/3-8-in-dr-click-type-torque-wrench/A-p2920935e
While remapping isn't necessary per the manufacturer it is recommended to receive the full benefit of changing the exhaust system which will also smoothen the throttle response.
Super detailed explanation and high quality video. Awesome job!
Sweet this is just what I was looking for! Got a 2020 that's getting upgraded today! 😎😁
Same, putting on a black widow header set however.
I have my system on order perfect video great explanation of tools and torque setting thank you 👍
Nice voice bro makes the video a lot better
Cheers, putting on a Black Widow de cat header set on my 2020 Z900.
Nice! Congrats ride safe 👍 cheers
Good job; good vid. Thanks for sharing.

Good work. Looks great
jose francis thanks for watching!
Do you put any copper grease or anything like that if so, which brand would you recommend
Do you need the gasket for the slip-on (where it connects to the headers) with these headers or only for stock headers?
There is no gasket between the slip-on and the headers, There is with the stock set up though. thanks for watching!
Good work, thank you for sharing
Hello, love the video! How did you torque the O2 sensor? I cant find a torque wrench that would fit over the cable.
Thanks for watch! I used a special o2 sensor socket to torque down the o2 sensor.
How is da bike run with out remapping? Any backfire or popping? Thanks and by da way , good VDO how to

Long Tan thanks for watching! I changed the headers at around 9000km, I have not yet replaced the stock air filter yet but I plan to do so.

Quick question, do I still have access to the oil filter after the exhaust install?
Shawn Kahlon Yes, the header pipes do not impede the oil filter. Thanks for watching !
Man mine is all rusted on stock headers. Do you know what size the manifold bolts are ??
I believe that they are 12mm 👍
How do they look now after putting miles on them and they have gone through a bunch of heat cycles? Did they change to blue at all?
Yes they have roughly 4 inches down the top of the header tubes off the cylinder head have begun to turn blue, and the rest of the exhaust has a little golden colour to it. Thanks for watching👍
Sorry if you mentioned it in the video but did you need a tune after? How much?

Just wondering as doing this to mine soon, do you not need any copper gaskets where the header joins the engine to seal it. Are there no leaks? Thanks

@@ridinwithj5046 Ah, Thanks for the reply. Cant wait for mine now :)
He left the old copper gaskets in the head, you can see it @ 4:57 onwards. Should replace with new, but not essential.

Does the antiseize come with the headers or did you buy that separately?
Bought it separately. Thanks for watching!
@@ridinwithj5046 Just did the install this morning on my 2020. Thanks for the video! It helped immensely
Funny you don't mention anything about the need for new copper gaskets. Akra recommends you replace the old crushed ones.
Can you show me the torque wrench that you use for the installation?Thank you.

did you need to remap it ? i am looking into buying this ?

I wish there was an exhaust note sample
Thanks for watching! I have got a video with the full Akrapovic system installed👍
@@ridinwithj5046 awesome man..will check it out👍🏼
