    Nice job! I just would like to warn everyone that this link pipe won't fit to newer models for sure! The muffler's/slip on's end is different! In case of newer models (2022-2023) the pipe of the slip on goes into the bread box, however, in case of older bikes it's vica versa: the end pipe of the bread box goes into the slip on's end. Be careful at purchasing!

    did you notice the issue on the inside of the pipe, on the flare out section? at least the way they manufactured mine, the smaller pipe was pushed into the flared section creating a lip/pocket for the airflow to catch on. i had to use a special cutoff wheel on the inside to remove the excess and taper it so the transition was smooth.

    Thank you for your reply. I rode the bike, and when I reduced speed and slowed down in the 1st gear, if you were stopping..it made a popping sound. It sounded cool, but does your bike do the same? Also, I noticed some heat from the engine. I got my mi-pipe from ebay for around $80. My other question is that when installing the header back to the engine, the four circular round clams have different grooves from top to bottom. There is no video which indicates which side is up or down. Do you know which side is up?

      @@infojn-um8jm popping is normal when you remove the bread box. You can install block off plates to take the popping away, but you'll need a jumper for the module that controls the PAIR valve (the thing you'll remove). Mine doesn't pop anymore as I've installed the block offs. Those clamps are fine either way. You may want to change the exhaust gaskets though if you've had a decent number of miles before doing the delete. I didn't change mine since it had so few miles. So far no issues. One question, Is removing the entire exhaust necessary for the cut? I’ve seen other videos where people make the cut for the mid pipe without taking off the exhaust and wondered if it’s only necessary if there’s limited room to work with or if it’s a required step.

    • @MotoMedic
      @MotoMedic  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Can it be done on the bike? Yeah. Is it a pain in the ass? yes. It's easier to remove it and have an easy place to do the work. Takes an extra 15 minutes and assures you that you don't have anything in the way to get around.
      Never half ass things on motorcycles.

  • @infojn-um8jm
    @infojn-um8jm 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi, I delete the bread box today. Sounds great with stock exhaust. I noticed the engine takes longer to cool down and maybe it's my connection but I can feel little air coming out of joint where the mid pipe links. Do you have any suggestion?

    • @MotoMedic
      @MotoMedic  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depending on the mid pipe you bought it really doesn't have a gasket so you just have to make sure the clamp is tight and the pipe is a straight in the clamp as possible. I don't think the bike would actually take longer to cool since there's less there to hold onto heat when removing the bread-box. Weird.

    Hey man, need a little help I bought my first sport bike (2007 triumph Daytona 675) a few months ago and about 2 weeks ago the bike stopped charging. I replaced the RR and the stator. That worked great for a day till it stopped charging again. From my multi tool I know it’s the stator, since it’s at 12.6 before starting and sits at 11.7 when running and revving. Should I replace the stator again? The connections are good but the old wires were a bit corroded wondering if it’s the wire issues or the whole stator. I would greatly appreciate anyone’s help or diagnosis.

    • @MotoMedic
      @MotoMedic  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a video on a 675 with this exact symptom. Go to my page and find that video and check out the comments section. I believe there were a few people who had this issue. I wasn't able to have the bike long enough to actually get into the weeds and locate the problem. But a lot of other owners chimed in and maybe something is there that will help. Sorry I'm not more help! Typically... that would be an easy fix. But apparently Triumph (like all Euro bikes) has to do things differently and with more electronics.

      If you're not removing the catalytic material in the header then you're fine. It'll restrict just enough airflow so that it shouldn't need a flash. That isn't to say that you shouldn't go on ahead and get it done though. :) I'll be having mine done in the Spring when I'm home from my place a bit further south than Idaho.

    How does removing the Cat converter not cause an increase in air-pollution? Thats not even ethical.

    • @MotoMedic
      @MotoMedic  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I didn't remove the cat. In fact I make mention that it is staying in the bike.
      But... if I did remove it, and got it dyno tuned for the additional airflow, it would burn all the fuel anyway. Rendering your assumption of my ethics baseless. Also... these engine put out FAR less emissions than ANY average car even when they're running rich. I'm also in the USA.... one of the least polluted countries on earth. Especially compared to fucking China or India. So stuff it, bud.... go worry about something else.

    Como advierten los fabricantes, la retirada del catalizador, además de incrementar las emisiones contaminantes, puede producir desajustes en el sistema de inyección electrónica de contrapresión de escape, provocando pérdida de rendimiento del motor, desgaste prematuro de piezas y ruido excesivo. Hasta luego... cuidate, ya que no cuidas el medio ambiente.

      Parece que no sabes lo suficiente sobre lo limpios que son estos pequeños motores. Puedo asegurarles que estoy aumentando muy poco las emisiones con esta moto en comparación con la Italika de 200 cc que uso aquí en México durante todo el invierno. Esa bicicleta tiene un cilindro, está carburada y funciona muy bien... poniendo muchos más contaminantes en el aire que cualquier cosa que haría esta Z900. ¿Y la parte irónica? Están EN TODO ESTE PAÍS. Entonces, ¿qué tal si aprendes un poco sobre esto antes de venir a hacerme pasar un mal rato?
      Estados Unidos quema MUCHAS MENOS emisiones que CUALQUIER país en desarrollo o del tercer mundo. Apaga las noticias que te mienten.
      Beun día.

      Además... si notas en el minuto 7 de este video: el material del catalizador todavía está en el tubo colector.
      Tal vez deberías aprender más sobre las cosas antes de hablar de lo mucho que a la gente no le importa el planeta.
      Vivo a lo largo de la segunda barrera de arrecifes más grande del mundo en México y creo que deberías tener más que decir sobre los lugareños que vierten aceite usado en el suelo que eventualmente llega a los cenotes. También vivo parte del año en 10 acres de terreno forestal. Sé cómo cuidar este planeta mejor que casi cualquier persona con la que hablo.
      Eso incluye a las personas que comentan mis videos.
