Full dose, then when the purple starts wearing off add a half dose. Dont wait until it goes fully brown though before you add the half dose. You catch it as the purple wears off.
Morning bud hope everything is sorted, never really used PP before. I haven't had the call I suppose worst I have had is fluke and that was last year with NPS. Always thought of it as Chemo for cancer patients as its harsh... Hows the grow on set up doing? Its because of your last video I have emptied my garage and put a new pond in there lol
Hi fella, Yes seen your last video, its a great idea and no doubt once youve had it up and running you will be making it bigger and bigger like i did! Haha. Plenty of room in there. Top tip if your planning to heat would be to heat the room not the tank. This will involve a bit stud walling etc to keep the heat in but by heating this way you stop the condensation. You could even extend the house heating in there if ya wanted too. PP is a very harsh treatment and youve got to watch the koi at all times. Grow on is doing great. Almost moved on all of the cuttlebrook fry on. Delivery of some new Jap koi from queni koi next week and gonna move some of the smaller koi in from the outdoor pond to get them packing on some weight as they have to compete against the big girls and boys outside.
Well I have trichodina but I don’t plan on adding half a dose I just put the does for my pond and an extra 25% for the algea in my pond so idk I did it twice will scrape the fish and see what happens but I don’t know if I did it right I use chloramine t before so I think the damn parasite should be dead by now why does it have to stay purple for 4 hours I mean the potassium should burn things straight away? An hours should be enough never mind the 15 they recommend
Hello a question
Is this treatment is ok with plants 🌱
And second I live my filter running normal ?
I have bakkie shower and bog filter
Question, you do a full dose and then when it starts turning brown, then add half a treatment? Or do you measure the full dose and split it in two? Ty

can potassium permanganate be added to a salted koi pond
Yes
I always do a water change just before PP treatment to cut the salt to 1%.
